This guide covers the 2026 releases first, then which disc works on which Xbox, then the older titles by type.
Key facts
- EA Sports FC 27 for Xbox costs KSh 8,500 at Mascom International, on one disc marked for both Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
- Forza Horizon 6 costs KSh 9,000 and plays only on Xbox Series X and Series S, not on Xbox One.
- The Xbox Series S has no disc drive, so physical Xbox games need an Xbox Series X or an Xbox One.

Is EA Sports FC 27 worth KSh 8,500 on Xbox?
EA Sports FC 27 is worth KSh 8,500 if you play FUT online or want this season's squads, and it is the Xbox game we sell most often. Its Mascom listing counts more than 21,000 players, 800 clubs and national teams, 130 stadiums and 35 leagues. Career mode gets a transfer market that prices players by form and club finances.
One disc covers both consoles, but the experience differs. On Xbox Series X you get The Grounds social hub, which the Xbox One version leaves out. EA Sports FC 26 costs KSh 2,000 less and still plays Career and Kick-Off offline. Lounges that charge per match usually want the newest edition, because their customers notice old squads.
Is Forza Horizon 6 worth buying on Xbox Series X?
Forza Horizon 6 is worth KSh 9,000 if you own an Xbox Series X and want a racing game to keep for years. Playground Games moved the Horizon Festival to Japan, from Tokyo's downtown streets to mountain passes, with all four seasons changing the roads. The Mascom listing counts more than 550 cars at launch, plus a new R Class of track cars for harder racing.
The catch is hardware. Microsoft released Forza Horizon 6 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC, so it will not run on an Xbox One. The disc also needs the Series X, because the Series S cannot read discs. Assists and open roads make it friendly for beginners, so it suits a family console in Kileleshwa as well as a racing fan in Eldoret.
Which Xbox discs play on Series X, Series S and Xbox One?
The Xbox Series X plays Xbox Series discs and almost every Xbox One disc, while the Xbox Series S plays no discs at all. Microsoft built the Series X with a 4K Blu-ray drive and backward compatibility, so an Xbox One game installs and runs from the disc. Some, like Alien Isolation, get FPS Boost on the Series X for a higher frame rate.
There is one exception: Microsoft confirmed that games requiring the Kinect sensor do not work on Xbox Series consoles. For a disc collection, the Microsoft Xbox Series X 1TB costs KSh 66,800 (November 2026). The Microsoft Xbox Series S 512GB costs KSh 46,000 (November 2026), but every game on it is downloaded. On Safaricom or Airtel fibre that works well; on a capped bundle it gets expensive.
Which Xbox One classics are worth buying in 2026?
Grand Theft Auto V costs KSh 5,000 (November 2026) and gives you three playable leads, heist missions and GTA Online for up to 30 players. Red Dead Redemption Game of the Year Edition also costs KSh 5,000 (November 2026). It carries the full western story plus the Undead Nightmare expansion, and plays on Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Monster Hunter World costs KSh 6,500 (November 2026) and supports four-player online co-op. Sunset Overdrive, an Insomniac Games shooter from October 2014, costs KSh 4,500 (November 2026). Horror fans can take Alien Isolation at KSh 4,500 (November 2026), which plays fully offline. The trade-off: GTA, Red Dead and Alien Isolation are rated for adults.
Which Xbox games suit co-op nights, families and fighting fans?
Payday 2 Crimewave Edition costs KSh 4,500 (November 2026) and suits a crew of four planning heists online. It also has an offline mode with computer teammates. Bladestorm Nightmare, at the same price, lets two friends command troops together, so a player in Nakuru can join one in Nairobi.
For one-on-one fights on the same sofa, One Piece Burning Blood costs KSh 4,500 (November 2026) and has local two-player versus. Families with younger children can look at Reus, a PEGI 7 planet-building game at KSh 4,500 that plays offline. Fighter Within turns real punches into moves, but it needs an Xbox One with a Kinect sensor. The trade-off: online co-op on any of these needs a Game Pass subscription, bought separately from Microsoft.
How should you choose an Xbox game in Kenya?
- Check your console first. Discs need an Xbox Series X or Xbox One. A Series S owner should buy digital instead.
- Check where it runs. Forza Horizon 6 is Series only, while Xbox One discs also play on a Series X.
- Decide online or offline. Online play on an Xbox console needs at least Game Pass Essential. Story modes and local matches do not.
- Pick new or last season. Buy EA Sports FC 27 for current squads and FUT; buy EA Sports FC 26 to save KSh 2,000 on offline play.
- Plan for KPLC outages. Install discs and updates while power is steady, and a small UPS protects a save mid-match.
For a controller, the Microsoft Xbox Wireless Controller costs KSh 8,300 (November 2026) and pairs with Series and Xbox One consoles. PlayStation owners can read our PS5 games guide instead.

The only Xbox One games that will not run are those that need the Kinect sensor, such as Fighter Within. Some older games, including Alien Isolation, run at a higher frame rate on the Series X.
Do I need Game Pass to play Xbox games online in Kenya?
Yes, online multiplayer in paid games on an Xbox console needs at least an Xbox Game Pass Essential subscription. Free-to-play games such as Fortnite also play online without it.

No, Anthem can no longer be played, because EA closed its servers on 12 January 2026 and the game was always online. Mascom International sells the Anthem Xbox One disc at KSh 4,500 only as a sealed collector copy.
