When does GTA 6 come out on PS5?
GTA 6 comes out on Thursday 19 November 2026. Sony's PlayStation site lists it for PS5 and PS5 Pro and states plainly that it will not be playable on PS4. Rockstar has not given a PC date.
Rockstar's support page, updated on 3 November 2026, says PS5 pre-download starts at midnight local time on 10 November, with auto-downloads on and the console powered on or in Rest Mode.
What is new for PS5 owners in GTA 6?
GTA 6 is a single-player game set in Vice City, according to PlayStation's FAQ. Sony says it uses the DualSense controller's vibration and trigger effects, loads quickly from the PS5's SSD, and is tuned for the PlayStation 5 Pro. PlayStation Store pre-orders add the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+.
How much is GTA 6 in Kenya, and what does the download mean here?
A Kenyan shelf price for GTA 6 is not confirmed yet; PCWorld reports official prices of US$79.99 and US$99.99. The bigger Kenya issue is the 212 GB download. On a 10 Mbps home line that is roughly 47 hours; on 40 Mbps, about 12 hours. Start on 10 November, keep the console in Rest Mode, and expect KPLC power cuts to pause it.
Because the box holds a single-use code, a disc drive gives no advantage for GTA 6, and a redeemed box cannot be resold.
Which PS5 should you buy for GTA 6 in Kenya?
| PS5 at Mascom International | Price (November 2026) | Condition and warranty | Best for |

| PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition (new) | KSh 110,000 | Sealed, 12-month warranty | Families building a disc library |
| PlayStation 5 Pro | KSh 190,000 | Sealed, 12-month warranty | 4K TV owners who want the sharpest picture |
The used PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition at KSh 65,000 sits below all four. Prices change often; each product page shows today's price.
Storage matters too. GTA 6 takes up about a fifth of a 1TB console. Heavy players can add a Lexar NQ780 1TB at KSh 24,500 or a Lexar NM790 2TB at KSh 36,500. Both ship without a heatsink, so budget for one.
Who can skip it: PS4 owners not ready to upgrade, and PC gamers willing to wait for a PC release that has no date.
Our take
At Mascom International, we saw PS5 Disc Edition sales slow sharply after Sony's April 2026 price rise, which added US$100 to the standard console. Since GTA 6 arrives as a code, the used PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition at KSh 65,000 is the lowest-cost way to play it, KSh 35,000 below a new Digital Edition. If you later want discs, the PS5 Disc Drive costs KSh 17,000. Buyers who swap and resell disc games still get the most from a Disc Edition.
Common questions
How much is GTA 6 in Kenya?
A Kenyan retail price for GTA 6 has not been confirmed. The official prices are US$79.99 for the Standard Edition and US$99.99 for the download-only edition. Local shop prices will add shipping and duties, so expect them to sit above a straight conversion. WhatsApp Mascom International on +254 708 852 521 to ask about boxed copies.
Will GTA 6 work on my PS4?
No. PlayStation's own FAQ says GTA 6 will only be playable on PS5 consoles, not PS4. PS4 owners who want GTA 6 at launch need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S. A used PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition at KSh 65,000 (November 2026) is the lowest-cost PS5 at Mascom International.
Do I need a disc PS5 for GTA 6?
No. The boxed Standard Edition of GTA 6 contains a download code, not a disc, so a PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition plays it the same way a Disc Edition does. A Disc Edition still makes sense if you buy, swap or resell other disc games. You can also add a PS5 Disc Drive to a Digital Edition later.
