Mafia The Old Country is available at Mascom International for KSh 6,300 as a brand new and sealed PS5 physical disc in the standard edition, rated PEGI 18. Developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K in August 2025, Mafia The Old Country takes the crime series back to its roots in 1900s Sicily. You follow Enzo Favara as he leaves gruelling work in the sulfur mines and rises inside the Torrisi crime family. The copy sits on our shelf at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, ready to collect or ship.
Built for adult PS5 owners across Kenya who want a story with a clear ending rather than a map packed with errands. Mafia The Old Country plays as a linear third-person crime drama, so a working professional with two free evenings a week can follow the plot without losing the thread. Banking staff unwinding after long weeks in Upper Hill, university students on a semester break, and fans who finished earlier Mafia games all fit the profile. The disc also suits homes on capped data, because the main game installs from the disc instead of a full download.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell games from behind a glass counter with no chance to check the seal, Mascom International lets you inspect the shrink wrap before you pay. Buyers throughout Kenya tell us they choose physical discs because a finished story can be lent to a cousin or kept on the shelf for years. Mafia The Old Country ships to every county with pay-on-arrival delivery, so a gamer in Kisumu or Nakuru settles the bill by M-Pesa once the parcel is in hand. Common Questions About the Mafia The Old Country
How much is the Mafia The Old Country PS5 disc in Kenya?
Mafia The Old Country costs KSh 6,300 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD, brand new and sealed on PS5 disc. That price covers the standard edition game, the 6-month disc warranty described further down this page, and pay-on-arrival delivery to every Kenyan county. Nairobi buyers can receive the copy the same day they order. You can also walk into the Kimathi Street store, check the seal and cover yourself, and pay by M-Pesa or cash at the counter before leaving.
What is Mafia The Old Country about, and where does the story take place?
Mafia The Old Country is a single-player crime drama set in Sicily in the early 1900s, earlier than any previous game in the series. You play Enzo Favara, a young man who escapes forced labour in the sulfur mines and joins the household of Don Bernardo Torrisi. The story covers loyalty, family and the price of rising through a crime organisation. Expect village streets, vineyards, country roads and rival clans rather than the American cities of earlier Mafia games.
Will Mafia The Old Country play on a PS5 Digital Edition or a PS5 Pro?
Mafia The Old Country needs a PS5 with a working disc drive to install and run from this disc. The original PS5 and the PS5 Slim disc models read it straight away. The PS5 Digital Edition and the PS5 Pro have no drive built in, so they need Sony's separate PS5 Disc Drive attached first. The game does not run on a PS4. If you are unsure which console you own, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you order.
Mafia The Old Country vs Mafia Definitive Edition, which should you play?
Mafia The Old Country came out in August 2025 and is built only for current consoles, while Mafia Definitive Edition launched in September 2020 as a remake of the original game. The newer title is set in 1900s Sicily, against the 1930s American city of Lost Heaven in the remake. Pick Mafia The Old Country if you want the fresher PS5 release and the series origin story. Choose the remake if you prefer gangster tales set in American streets and cars.
Does Mafia The Old Country need internet, and how does it handle power cuts in Kenya?
Mafia The Old Country installs its main game from the disc and plays offline, so you can finish the story without an active connection. Connect once to download any update from PlayStation Network, which a Safaricom Home Fibre or Zuku line handles comfortably overnight. The game also saves progress automatically at regular points within each chapter. If a KPLC blackout cuts power mid-mission, you restart from the last checkpoint instead of replaying a whole chapter. A UPS on the console adds further protection.
Is Mafia The Old Country an open-world game?
No. Mafia The Old Country is a linear, mission-based story, not an open-world sandbox like Grand Theft Auto. Each chapter moves you through set locations with a clear goal, mixing stealth, gunfights with period firearms, close-range knife duels, vintage car driving and horse riding. That structure keeps the pace tight and the plot focused. Players who enjoy wandering freely for hours may find it limiting, while those who like a film-style story told across focused missions will find the structure suits them.
How does Mafia The Old Country look and run on PS5?
Mafia The Old Country gives PS5 owners two display modes: a Performance mode that averages 60 frames per second and a Quality mode that favours sharper detail. Performance mode makes shootouts and car chases feel smoother, while Quality mode suits slow walks through Sicilian villages. On a PS5 Pro, Hangar 13 added higher dynamic resolution in both modes plus support for 120Hz and variable refresh rate screens. A 4K television gets the most out of either setting.
Who should buy Mafia The Old Country, and who should skip it?
Mafia The Old Country suits adults who enjoy story-led crime games, period settings and cinematic missions with a definite ending. It is rated PEGI 18 for strong violence and mature themes, so it is not a game for children or younger teenagers. Families shopping for a younger player are better served by LEGO Star Wars or Minecraft, both stocked at Mascom International. Players who want endless online multiplayer should also skip it, because Mafia The Old Country is a single-player game only.
Technical Specifications
Story and Setting Details
- Developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K, the studio team behind the 2020 remake of the first game.
- Released worldwide in August 2025, so the disc carries the finished game with no early-access gaps.
- Set in Sicily during the early 1900s, the earliest period the crime series has ever covered in its story.
- You play Enzo Favara, a former sulfur mine labourer who joins the Torrisi crime family under Don Bernardo.
- Single-player campaign only, so every hour of play goes into the main story without online lobbies or matchmaking.
- Story told through chapters with cutscenes between missions, giving it a pace closer to a crime film than a sandbox.
Gameplay Systems
- Third-person action with cover-based gunfights, letting you plan each fight rather than standing in the open.
- Period firearms such as the lupara shotgun match the early 1900s setting and change how close combat plays.
- Knife duels stage one-on-one fights as tense set pieces instead of quick button presses.
- Stealth sections let you slip past guards, so careful players can avoid some fights entirely.
- Vintage cars and horse riding carry you between village, countryside and estate locations during missions.
- Linear mission design keeps each objective clear, cutting time spent searching a map for the next task.
Graphics and Display Output
- Built on Unreal Engine 5, the same engine behind many recent console releases, for detailed lighting and scenery.
- Performance mode averages 60 frames per second on PS5, smoothing out chases, gunfights and fast camera turns.
- Quality mode favours higher resolution and visual detail, suited to slower story scenes and village exploration.
- Carries official PS5 Pro support, with higher dynamic resolution in both modes than a standard PS5 produces.
- PS5 Pro also adds 120Hz output and variable refresh rate support, reducing screen tearing on compatible televisions.
Console Compatibility
- Plays on the original PS5 and PS5 Slim disc models with no extra hardware required.
- PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro owners need the separate PS5 Disc Drive attached before the disc will install.
- Not available on PS4, so the disc will not read or install on older PlayStation consoles.
- Game data installs to the internal SSD, and the disc stays in the drive as the licence while you play.
- Progress saves to the console, so you can sell or lend the disc later without losing your own save file.
Disc Format and Installation
- Supplied on a PS5 game disc in the standard blue PlayStation case with a printed cover sheet.
- The main game installs from the disc, so you avoid downloading the full title over a capped data plan.
- Any update from PlayStation Network downloads once you connect, bringing the latest fixes before you start.
- Automatic checkpoint saves within each chapter limit how much progress is lost if the console switches off suddenly.
- A physical copy can be resold, traded or lent, which a digital purchase from the PlayStation Store does not allow.
Rating and Edition
- Rated PEGI 18 for strong violence and mature content, so it is aimed at adult players only.
- Standard edition, the base game without the extra cosmetic content bundled into the Deluxe edition.
- Sold brand new and sealed in original shrink wrap, so you are the first owner of this disc.
- Content descriptor icons on the back cover explain the PEGI 18 rating, helping parents decide before a teenager asks.
- Region details and age labels appear on the back cover, which you can check at our counter before paying.
Package Contents
Mafia The Old Country arrives exactly as 2K packs it for retail, with the shrink wrap untouched until you open it:
- Mafia The Old Country PS5 game disc, standard edition
- Blue PS5 game case with printed cover sheet and PEGI 18 label

Keep the disc in its case between sessions. Buyers in humid coastal towns such as Mombasa avoid surface marks and moisture that way, and a clean, scratch-free disc reads faster.
