Concord for PlayStation 5 is now in stock at Mascom International for KSh 6,500, as a brand new and sealed standard edition disc published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Firewalk Studios built Concord as an online-only 5v5 hero shooter, and it launched in August 2024. Sony switched its servers off on 6 September 2024, so the game cannot be played today. This copy is sold strictly as a collector's item and a piece of PlayStation history, never as a working game. Mascom International holds it at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, where you can inspect the unbroken shrink-wrap before paying.
Concord suits a narrow but real group of buyers. Collectors who shelve Sony first-party releases, retro-gaming archivists, and creators filming documentaries about failed live-service games all want a physical copy. Once Sony withdrew Concord from sale, new copies stopped reaching shops. Kenyan YouTubers and TikTok creators covering gaming history from Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu can use the unopened case as an on-camera prop. If you want a hero shooter to play tonight, this disc will not give you one, and the questions below point you to free alternatives that still run.
Few Nairobi electronics shops will tell you a game is unplayable before you pay, and Mascom International says it in the first paragraph. Concord ran for roughly two weeks before Sony ended it and refunded buyers. That makes it one of the shortest-lived first-party launches in PlayStation history. Buyers across Kenya tell us they value straight answers over sales talk, especially on items bought for a display shelf. Walk in to Kimathi Street to hold the Concord case yourself, or order by WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery to any of Kenya's 47 counties.
Common Questions About the Concord PS5 Disc
Can you still play the Concord PS5 disc in 2026?
No. The Concord PS5 disc cannot be played, because Sony shut down the game's servers on 6 September 2024 and Concord had no offline or single-player mode. Every match depended on those servers, so inserting the disc today gives you no playable game. Mascom International sells this sealed copy in Kenya purely as a collector's item and a record of PlayStation history. Be wary of any seller who claims Concord matches still work, since no official servers exist to connect to.
Why did Sony shut down Concord only two weeks after launch?
Sony took Concord offline because its August 2024 launch did not land the way the team had intended, according to the game director's public statement. Player numbers on PS5 and PC stayed low for a paid hero shooter entering a crowded field. Sony withdrew Concord from sale, refunded buyers, and said it would explore options for the future. For a collector in Kenya, that short life is exactly what gives a sealed Concord PS5 disc its story.
Is the Concord PS5 disc worth KSh 6,500 to a collector in Kenya?
The Concord PS5 disc is worth KSh 6,500 only if you value it as a display piece rather than a game. Sealed copies of withdrawn releases rarely surface in Nairobi shops, and no fresh stock has been sold since Sony pulled the title. Mascom International does not promise the disc will rise in value, because collector prices move unpredictably. Buy it because you want this chapter of PlayStation history on your shelf, and budget for a playable game separately.
Concord vs Marvel Rivals: which should you buy on PS5?
Choose Marvel Rivals if you want to play, because it is a free-to-play hero shooter with live servers on PS5. Concord is a sealed collectible whose servers closed in September 2024, so the two serve completely different purposes. Marvel Rivals downloads from the PlayStation Store at no cost and needs only a stable connection such as Safaricom Home Fibre or Zuku. The Concord PS5 disc belongs on a shelf beside your console, while Marvel Rivals belongs on the console itself.
Who should buy the Concord PS5 disc, and who should skip it?
Buy the Concord PS5 disc if you collect PlayStation releases, archive gaming history, or need a physical prop for a video about live-service games. Skip it completely if you want a hero shooter to play, since Concord cannot start a match without its servers. Players should download Overwatch 2 or Marvel Rivals instead, both free-to-play on PS5 with active online modes. Parents shopping for a teenager should also skip it, because an unplayable game disappoints anyone expecting to play on day one.
How should you store a sealed Concord disc in Kenya's heat and humidity?
Keep the sealed Concord disc upright, out of direct sunlight, and away from damp walls to protect both the shrink-wrap and the cover art. Afternoon sun through a Nairobi window can fade printed covers over months, and coastal humidity in Mombasa or Lamu encourages mould on paper. A closed bookshelf or glass display cabinet works well. Avoid stacking heavy items on the case, since a cracked hinge or split wrap lowers its appeal to any future collector who buys from you.
Will the Concord PS5 disc work in a PS5 Digital Edition, PS5 Pro or PS4?
The Concord PS5 disc needs a PlayStation 5 with a disc drive, and a PS4 cannot read PS5 game discs at all. A PS5 Pro or the slim PS5 Digital Edition needs Sony's detachable Disc Drive attached before it reads any disc. None of this restores play, because Concord stopped working when Sony shut its servers. Opening the wrap to test it in a console also breaks the factory seal, which is the main reason collectors want this copy.
Is this a genuine Sony Concord disc, and can you check it before paying?
Yes, this is a genuine Concord disc in Sony's standard PS5 case, still in its factory shrink-wrap, with the PEGI 16 rating on the cover. You can examine it yourself at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, before handing over any money. Delivery orders work the same way, because pay-on-arrival lets you look over the wrap and cover before paying by M-Pesa or cash. Refuse the parcel if the seal is torn, and our team will sort it out the same week.
Technical Specifications
Game and Publisher Details
- Title: Concord, standard PS5 edition, the only cover version Mascom International currently holds in stock.
- Developer: Firewalk Studios, a Sony-owned studio that shipped Concord as its debut title on PS5 and PC.
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment, which places this disc inside the PlayStation first-party catalogue of its own studios.
- Release: August 2024 on PS5 and PC, nearly four years into the PS5 generation, sold as a paid release rather than as a free-to-play game.
- Genre: 5v5 online hero shooter, where two teams of five players picked characters with distinct abilities.
- Age rating: PEGI 16, printed on the cover, meaning content judged suitable for players aged 16 and over.
Server Status and Playability
- Servers: Sony shut down every Concord server on 6 September 2024, ending matchmaking for all players worldwide.
- Offline mode: none existed, so no single-player, bot match or local split-screen option remains on this disc.
- Sale status: Sony withdrew Concord from the PlayStation Store and PC storefronts, stopping all new digital purchases.
- Refunds: Sony refunded 2024 buyers at the time, and this copy is now priced purely as a collectible.
- Practical result: the Concord disc cannot start a match today, and Mascom International never claims otherwise.
- Lifespan: about two weeks of live service, among the shortest runs of any PlayStation first-party game.
Disc Format and Console Compatibility
- Format: PS5 Blu-ray game disc, readable only by PlayStation 5 consoles fitted with a working disc drive.
- Standard PS5: the disc-drive model reads the Concord disc directly, though no playable match follows from it.
- PS5 Pro and slim Digital Edition: both need the detachable Sony Disc Drive before reading any physical game.
- Original 2020 Digital Edition: has no disc drive and cannot accept the detachable one, so it never reads discs.
- PS4: cannot read PS5 game discs at all, so this case is for display beside older PlayStation hardware.
- Collector priority: keeping the wrap intact matters more than testing, because an opened copy loses most of its appeal.
Packaging and Sealed Condition
- Seal: factory shrink-wrap intact, so the case has not been opened since it left Sony's packing line in 2024.
- Cover: standard edition artwork with the PS5 header band and PEGI 16 rating visible through the wrap.
- Contents: exactly what Sony packed at the factory, because Mascom International never opens a sealed game.
- Inspection: check corners, wrap and spine at the Kimathi Street counter, or on arrival before you pay.
- Storage: upright, shaded and dry conditions keep the wrap tight and stop the cover printing from fading.
- Handling: avoid heavy stacking, which cracks case hinges and splits shrink-wrap along the top and bottom edges.
Collector Value and Historical Context
- History: Concord marks one of the fastest reversals in Sony first-party history, from launch to shutdown within two weeks.
- Supply: no new copies have been sold since withdrawal, so sealed discs depend entirely on remaining retail stock.
- Value: Mascom International makes no promise about future resale prices, which can rise or fall with collector demand.
- Display use: suits a shelf of PlayStation first-party releases, a gaming lounge wall, or a creator's filming set.
- Record value: the sealed case is physical evidence of a live-service game that no longer exists online anywhere.
- Gifting: right for a collector who already knows the story, and wrong for anyone expecting a playable game.
Package Contents
The Concord PS5 disc reaches you exactly as Sony sealed it, and Mascom International does not open the wrap to check or add anything.
- One Concord standard edition PS5 game disc inside its original case
- Original cover artwork carrying the PEGI 16 rating
- Factory shrink-wrap, unbroken
Any leaflet or code inside is whatever Sony packed at the factory. Treat any bonus code as unusable, since it relied on the same servers that went offline in 2024.
Warranty
Mascom International covers the Concord PS5 disc with a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects in the case and disc. This warranty cannot cover online play, because Sony ended Concord's servers in September 2024 and no retailer can restore them. If the seal arrives torn or the case cracked, refuse delivery or return it unopened, and Mascom International will replace it or refund you.
