Yakuza Like a Dragon is available at Mascom International for KSh 4,800 as a PS5 physical disc, brand new and sealed in its retail case. Published by Sega and developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Yakuza Like a Dragon swaps the series' old brawling for turn-based RPG battles, with Japanese and English voice tracks included. You can collect your copy at our shop on the first floor of Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, in Nairobi CBD, or order it for delivery. The PS5 edition loads faster and runs at a higher resolution and frame rate than the PS4 release.
Built for RPG fans, university students and working adults who want a long story they can enjoy in short sessions, Yakuza Like a Dragon follows Ichiban Kasuga, a gangster betrayed by his own clan after 18 years in prison. Many players find modern action games too twitchy after a long day in Upper Hill and a slow matatu ride home. Here, every fight is a menu of choices, so you plan each move instead of racing your reflexes. Between battles, Yokohama offers kart racing, batting cages, arcade halls and karaoke, giving you weeks of play from one disc.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that sell grey-market copies with unclear origins, Mascom International stocks sealed PS5 discs you can inspect before paying. A physical copy of Yakuza Like a Dragon can also be resold or lent to a friend, which a digital purchase cannot. Customers across Nairobi tell us they prefer the disc because the main game installs from it rather than downloading over a capped home connection. Walk into the Kimathi Street shop to collect Yakuza Like a Dragon today, or order on WhatsApp and pay when it reaches your door anywhere in Kenya.
Common Questions About the Yakuza Like a Dragon
How much is Yakuza Like a Dragon for PS5 in Kenya?
Yakuza Like a Dragon for PS5 costs KSh 4,800 at Mascom International in Nairobi, brand new and sealed. That price covers the physical disc in its retail case, a 6-month warranty against disc defects, and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. You pay by cash or M-Pesa once the parcel is in your hands, so there is no risk of sending money for a copy that never arrives. Buyers in Nairobi and its environs usually receive it the same day they order.
Is Yakuza Like a Dragon worth buying if I have never played a Yakuza game?
Yes, Yakuza Like a Dragon is a good starting point because it introduces a different hero, Ichiban Kasuga, and a different city, Yokohama. Earlier games followed Kazuma Kiryu, but this story stands on its own and explains its past through cutscenes. The shift to turn-based combat also means you do not need action-game skills built over years. Customers at Mascom International who start here often go back to the older titles later, already hooked on the series' mix of drama and comedy.
How does Yakuza Like a Dragon compare with Persona 5 Royal on PS5?
Both are long Japanese turn-based RPGs, but Yakuza Like a Dragon is set among adult gangsters in Yokohama, while Persona 5 Royal follows high school students in Tokyo. Persona mixes dungeon crawling with a school calendar that limits what you can do each day. Yakuza Like a Dragon lets you roam the city freely and take on side stories at your own pace. Choose Yakuza for grown-up crime drama and open exploration; choose Persona 5 Royal for stylish school life, time management and an anime look.
Will Yakuza Like a Dragon work well with Kenyan internet and power conditions?
Yakuza Like a Dragon plays offline once installed from the disc, so you do not need Safaricom or Airtel data for the story. An internet connection only matters for downloading updates, and a home fibre or 5G router handles that comfortably. Because KPLC power cuts can switch your PS5 off mid-session, save your progress often and avoid losing an hour of grinding. Mascom International sells UPS units in Nairobi CBD, and our team can suggest a size that keeps a PS5 running through short outages.
Who should buy Yakuza Like a Dragon and who should skip it?
Yakuza Like a Dragon suits adults who enjoy long stories, turn-based tactics and offbeat humour, such as students on holiday or professionals unwinding on weekends. It is rated PEGI 18 for violence and strong language, so it is not for younger children. Players who want fast real-time fighting should skip it and look at the action-based Like a Dragon Gaiden or older entries in the series. Families buying for kids will be happier with a Sonic game from the same Sega catalogue, which Mascom International also stocks.
How long does it take to finish Yakuza Like a Dragon?
Yakuza Like a Dragon is a long game, and the main story alone runs for dozens of hours. Side stories, the business management mode, kart racing and the other minigames can easily double that time if you chase everything. That length makes the KSh 4,800 price good value per hour compared with shorter action titles. Players who only manage an hour or two each evening should expect the disc to keep them busy for several weeks, possibly months.
Does Yakuza Like a Dragon on PS5 have English voice acting?
Yes, the PS5 version of Yakuza Like a Dragon offers the original Japanese voice track and a full English voice track, switchable in the settings. English subtitles are available too, along with Brazilian Portuguese and Russian text. Many fans pick Japanese audio with English subtitles for the authentic feel, while others prefer the English dub so they can follow scenes without reading. You can change your choice at any time, so try both in the first chapter before settling in.
What is the difference between the PS4 and PS5 versions of Yakuza Like a Dragon?
The PS5 version of Yakuza Like a Dragon runs at a higher resolution and frame rate than the PS4 release, with shorter loading times. Save data does not carry over between the two versions, so a PS4 player moving up starts the story again. If you own a PS5, the PS5 disc from Mascom International is the better buy, since it gives you the sharpest picture your console can produce without relying on backward compatibility.
Technical Specifications
Story, Combat and Game Modes
- Single-player turn-based RPG — you choose attacks, skills and items from a menu, so each fight rewards planning over quick reflexes.
- Main story follows Ichiban Kasuga across Yokohama — dozens of hours of drama, comedy and crime plot in one long campaign.
- Job system lets party members change roles — you can turn a fighter into a healer or attacker as each battle demands.
- Party includes ex-cop Adachi, ex-nurse Nanba and hostess Saeko — each brings separate skills and personal side stories to follow.
- Business management mode — you run a company between missions, earning in-game money to buy better gear and healing items.
- Minigames include kart racing, batting cages, arcade halls and karaoke — useful breaks when you want a lighter session.
- Side stories spread across the city — short optional tales that add humour and reward exploring every street and alley.
PS5 Compatibility and Performance
- Native PS5 version released by Sega in March 2021 — built for the console rather than a PS4 disc running in backward compatibility.
- Higher resolution than the PS4 release — sharper city streets, signs and character faces on a 4K or Full HD television.
- Higher frame rate than the PS4 release — smoother camera movement while you walk Yokohama and during battle animations.
- Shorter loading times — the PS5 SSD, a solid-state storage drive, moves you between areas and fights quickly.
- Needs a PS5 that reads discs — standard and Slim models work directly, while a PS5 Pro needs the detachable Disc Drive.
- DualSense controller support — the standard PS5 pad handles every menu, battle and minigame without any extra accessory.
- Japanese and English voice tracks — switch audio in the settings, with subtitles in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.
Disc Format and Online Requirements
- Blu-ray disc in a standard PS5 case — the game copies itself to console storage from the disc on first insert.
- Disc must stay in the drive while playing — the console checks it at start-up to confirm that you own the game.
- Offline single-player — no PlayStation Plus subscription or internet connection is needed to play through the story.
- Internet optional for patches — a home broadband link downloads any updates Sega has released since the game launched.
- Save files do not transfer between PS4 and PS5 versions — players moving up from PS4 begin a fresh file.
- Resale and lending allowed — a physical disc can pass to a friend or be sold on, unlike a digital licence.
- PEGI 18 rating — violence and strong language make this game suitable for adult players only, not children.
