Mascom International stocks Sonic Frontiers at KSh 4,200 as a brand new and sealed PS5 physical disc, ready for collection in Nairobi CBD. Published by Sega and developed by Sonic Team, Sonic Frontiers takes the blue hedgehog off straight racetracks and drops him onto five large Starfall Islands to explore freely. The game launched in November 2022 and supports haptic vibration on the DualSense controller. Our shop sits on the first floor of Old Mutual Building on Kimathi Street, where the disc is on display. Sonic Frontiers carries an ESRB Everyone 10+ rating, so it fits family consoles as well as solo players.
Designed for children aged ten and up, teenagers and grown fans who grew up with Sega consoles, Sonic Frontiers handles both quick bursts and long weekend sessions. Parents in Kilimani and Westlands often tell us they struggle to find PS5 games that are exciting without graphic violence. Sonic Frontiers solves that with fast cartoon action, puzzles and boss fights against huge guardians. Kids can spend twenty minutes collecting items before homework, while older players chase every hidden secret across the islands. A skill tree lets you upgrade Sonic's moves as you progress, so the game grows with the player.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops push only the latest releases, Mascom International keeps proven titles like Sonic Frontiers at a price below many newer PS5 games. The disc is KSh 500 cheaper than Sonic X Shadow Generations, which we also stock, making it the lower-cost entry into modern 3D Sonic. Buyers throughout Kenya report that owning the disc lets them swap games with siblings and cousins during school holidays. Visit the Kimathi Street shop to pick up Sonic Frontiers, or message us on WhatsApp to have it delivered and pay only when it arrives.
Common Questions About the Sonic Frontiers
What is the Sonic Frontiers PS5 price in Kenya?
Sonic Frontiers for PS5 sells for KSh 4,200 at Mascom International in Nairobi, brand new and factory sealed. The price includes the game disc in its retail case, a 6-month warranty on the disc, and pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya. It costs KSh 500 less than Sonic X Shadow Generations at KSh 4,700, so it is the cheaper of our two Sonic titles. You can settle with Lipa na M-Pesa or cash when the parcel reaches you.
Should I buy Sonic Frontiers or Sonic X Shadow Generations?
Sonic Frontiers suits players who want to roam open islands, while Sonic X Shadow Generations suits players who prefer tight, level-based stages. Frontiers costs KSh 4,200 and centres on exploration, puzzles, side quests, fishing and big boss battles. Sonic X Shadow Generations costs KSh 4,700 and bundles a remastered 2011 Sonic adventure with a separate Shadow campaign of fast set-piece levels. Pick Frontiers for freedom and one long journey; pick the Generations package for classic speed runs and two heroes.
Can Sonic Frontiers be played without internet in Kenya?
Sonic Frontiers plays fully offline once installed from the disc, so you do not need mobile data or a home router to enjoy the story. A connection through Safaricom Home Fibre or Airtel home internet is useful for downloading Sega's free post-launch updates, including The Final Horizon story update. Those downloads can be large, so many families start them overnight. If a KPLC outage interrupts an update, the PS5 picks up the download again once electricity returns.
Who should buy Sonic Frontiers and who should skip it?
Sonic Frontiers is a strong pick for children aged ten and up, casual players and Sonic fans who enjoy exploring at their own pace. It is not ideal for players who want the straight-line speed of older Sonic games, since much of the time goes to open-field puzzles. Those buyers should look at Sonic X Shadow Generations, which Mascom International also stocks. Gamers who want a deep adult story will be better served by Yakuza Like a Dragon, also on our shelves.
What are the Starfall Islands in Sonic Frontiers?
The Starfall Islands are the five large open zones where Sonic Frontiers takes place, each with its own landscape, challenges and secrets. Sonic arrives searching for the missing Chaos Emeralds and finds himself stranded among ancient ruins, robotic enemies and strange creatures. You run, grind rails and climb huge structures to uncover the islands' history. Side quests and puzzles scattered across each zone unlock progress, so curious players get rewarded for straying off the main path.
What is Cyber Space in Sonic Frontiers?
Cyber Space is a set of unlockable 3D platforming stages inside Sonic Frontiers that play like traditional Sonic levels. They are short, fast runs with goals such as finishing within a time limit or collecting rings. Clearing them earns items that help you progress on the open islands. For players who miss older Sonic games, these stages offer a quick hit of pure speed between longer exploration sessions, and they suit short play times on a school night.
How does combat work in Sonic Frontiers?
Sonic Frontiers uses real-time combat built on dodges, parries, counters and combos that you unlock and upgrade through a skill tree. A move called Cyloop lets Sonic run a circle of light around enemies or objects to stun them, reveal items or break defences. Boss fights against giant guardians test everything you have learned. Younger players can start on an easier setting, while experienced gamers can raise the challenge, so the fights fit a wide range of skill levels.
Does Sonic Frontiers use the PS5 DualSense features?
Sonic Frontiers supports haptic vibration on the PS5 DualSense controller, giving you feedback through your hands as Sonic runs, lands and fights. The game is single-player and offers on-screen text in nine languages, with English, Japanese and four other voice options. It also supports Remote Play, so you can stream the game from your PS5 to a phone or PS Portal over strong home Wi-Fi, handy when the living-room TV is busy with the evening news.
