HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen is available at Mascom International for KSh 19,000, a brand new 13.3-inch Full HD replacement for the 2017–2018 Spectre x360 13-ae convertible. The unit pairs a 1920x1080 LCD with the touch digitizer layer, so one part restores both the picture and the touch response. HP links this FHD panel to part numbers L02540-001 and L02542-001, with 942848-001 covering the complete lid assembly. You can collect the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen from our store at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order it for delivery.
Designed for owners who still rely on their convertible every day, the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen suits executives, lawyers, accountants and university students who would rather repair a good laptop than replace it. Most screens we see arrive cracked from a fall off a desk, a squeeze in a packed matatu, or a lid closed on a pen. Others show lines, flicker or ghost touches after years of use. The HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen replaces the damaged glass, the display and the touch layer in one job, so tent mode, tablet mode and the on-screen keyboard work again.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that sell a generic 13.3-inch panel and hope it fits, Mascom International matches the part to your model, resolution and connector before you pay. Customers across Nairobi tell us the biggest risk in a screen repair is buying the wrong panel, and the 4K UHD version of this screen fits only UHD machines. Send a photo of the label on the back of your old panel to our WhatsApp, and we will confirm the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen is the right match. Then collect it in Nairobi CBD or choose pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.
Common Questions About the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen
How much is the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen in Kenya?
The HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen costs KSh 19,000 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD, sold as an unused replacement part. That price covers the Full HD LCD with its touch digitizer bonded in place and a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. It also includes a free part-number check on WhatsApp before you order, so you do not pay for a panel that will not fit. Pay-on-arrival delivery reaches all 47 counties, and you can pay with M-Pesa or cash when the parcel arrives.
Is the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen the same as the 13-ac or 13-ap screen?
No, the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen fits only the 2017–2018 13-ae and does not interchange with the 13-ac or 13-ap. Mascom International also stocks the HP Spectre x360 13-ac Touch Screen Replacement for the earlier 2016–2017 model at KSh 20,000. For the 2019 model, the HP Spectre x360 13-ap Touch Screen Replacement costs KSh 23,500. The three laptops look alike, but their panels and fittings differ. Read the model code on the sticker under your laptop: 13-ae owners pick this part, while 13-ac and 13-ap owners need their own.
How do I know which HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen fits my laptop?
Match three things before ordering: the resolution, the connector and the part number printed on your old panel. The HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen we stock is the Full HD 1920x1080 version linked to HP parts L02540-001 and L02542-001. A separate 4K UHD version, tied to 942849-001 and L02543-001, fits only UHD machines. Sellers describe the FHD connector as either 40-pin or 30-pin, so count the pins on your old cable rather than trusting a listing. Send that label photo to our WhatsApp and we will confirm.
Can power surges or dust damage the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen?
The HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen takes its power from the laptop's motherboard, so protecting the charger from surges protects the display too. Plug the charger into a surge protector or a UPS, especially in areas where KPLC power cuts bring sharp spikes when supply returns. Dust is the bigger daily risk in Kenya: grit on the keyboard deck can scratch the glass when the lid closes. Wipe the keys before folding the laptop, and carry it in a padded sleeve on matatu and boda boda trips.
Who should buy the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen, and who should skip it?
Buy the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen if your FHD 13-ae has cracked glass, lines, dead touch or ghost touches but otherwise boots and runs. Skip it if your 13-ae shipped with the 4K UHD screen, because you need the 942849-001 or L02543-001 part instead. Skip it as well if your lid or hinges are bent, since the complete 942848-001 assembly suits that repair better. Owners of the 13-ac or 13-ap should choose the panel made for their own model.
Can I fit the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen myself?
Fitting the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen takes repair experience, so we recommend a trained laptop technician for the job. The panel connects through fine ribbon cables that tear easily if pulled at the wrong angle. The thin lid also leaves little room for error when the old glass comes out. If you already work with a trusted technician, share the part numbers with them before ordering. Disconnecting the battery first protects both the panel and the motherboard during the swap.
Will touch and tablet mode work after fitting the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen?
Yes, the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen carries its own digitizer, so touch input returns once the cables are seated correctly. Windows normally recognises the touch layer straight away using the drivers already on your laptop. If touch stays dead, run Windows Update or HP Support Assistant to refresh the touchscreen driver, then restart. Tablet mode, tent mode and the on-screen keyboard all depend on that touch layer, so they work again as soon as touch does.
Is it worth replacing the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen in Kenya instead of buying another laptop?
For most owners, yes: at KSh 19,000 the HP Spectre x360 13-ae Touch Screen costs far less than a replacement convertible of the same class. The 13-ae runs 8th-generation Intel Core processors, which still handle Microsoft Office, Zoom calls, KRA iTax returns, eCitizen applications and online banking with ease. Keeping a working laptop also saves you from moving files and reinstalling software. Customers across Nairobi tell us a screen repair buys them several more years from a machine they already trust.
Technical Specifications
Display and Touch Function
- 13.3-inch diagonal — the same size as the factory screen, so it sits flush in the 13-ae lid with no gaps at the edges.
- Full HD 1920x1080 resolution — sharp text for spreadsheets, contracts and web pages, and full detail for 1080p video at native size.
- LED backlight — even brightness across the panel and a lower power draw than older lamp-lit screens, which helps battery life.
- Glossy glass surface — rich contrast and deep blacks indoors; tilt the screen or lower brightness to cut glare near bright windows.
- Built-in touch digitizer — the thin sensor layer that reads your fingertips, so taps, swipes, pinch-zoom and handwriting work again.
- LCD and digitizer in one unit — display and touch arrive bonded together, so you replace both in one job instead of sourcing two parts.
- Works in every hinge position — the 360-degree hinge stays on your laptop, and the panel restores touch in tent, stand and tablet modes.
Compatibility
- Fits the HP Spectre x360 13-ae series from 2017–2018 — including models such as the 13-ae011dx, 13-ae012dx, 13-ae014dx and 13-ae052nr.
- FHD machines only — a 13-ae built with the 4K UHD screen needs the separate 942849-001 or L02543-001 part instead.
- Linked HP part numbers L02540-001 and L02542-001 — compare them with the label on the back of your old panel before ordering.
- Complete FHD lid assembly part 942848-001 — a useful reference when your old panel came fitted inside a full lid unit.
- eDP connector check — eDP is the flat video plug inside the lid; sellers list it as 40-pin or 30-pin, so count yours.
- Does not fit the 13-ac or 13-ap — those Spectre models use different panels and fittings despite their similar outside look.
- Works with your current Windows setup — no reinstall is needed, and touch drivers arrive through Windows Update when required.
Build and Finish
- Black-framed glass front — matches the look of the original Spectre display from edge to edge once fitted.
- Slim bonded stack — the LCD, touch sensor and cover glass sit as one thin layer, keeping the lid as slim as the factory design.
- Fine ribbon cables — they carry video and touch signals, so handle them gently and seat each one fully during fitting.
- Unused stock — no pressure marks or worn coating from earlier use, unlike salvaged panels pulled from broken laptops.
- Check on arrival — pay-on-arrival delivery lets you inspect the glass for cracks before handing over any money.
- Flat protective packing — the panel travels padded and face-protected, so it reaches Kisumu or Mombasa without pressure damage.
- Panel-only design — your original lid shell keeps its colour and finish, so the outside of the laptop looks unchanged after the repair.
Inclusions and Support
