The HP EliteBook 840 G11 is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 93,000, with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. HP refurbished this unit at the factory, tested it and packed it back into an HP box with its power adapter. One point to know before you buy: this HP EliteBook 840 G11 has no built-in camera, so plan on a USB webcam for video calls. You can inspect it at our showroom in Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Designed for executives, developers, lawyers and finance teams, the HP EliteBook 840 G11 handles large Excel models, many browser tabs, code editors and virtual machines without the slowdowns older laptops show. Its processor carries 12 cores and a built-in AI engine that takes over tasks such as background blur and noise cancelling. Its matte 14-inch screen uses a taller 16:10 shape, so you see more rows of a spreadsheet or contract at once. The missing camera suits banks, legal chambers and government offices in Upper Hill that ban webcams in secure rooms. For everyone else, a plug-in USB webcam restores video calls in seconds and can be unplugged when you want privacy.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell grey-import laptops with no paper trail, Mascom International offers the HP EliteBook 840 G11 as HP-refurbished stock backed by a 12-month warranty. At Mascom International, we're seeing procurement teams choose refurbished current-generation EliteBooks to stretch IT budgets without dropping to consumer models. Customers across Nairobi tell us the 16:10 screen and quiet operation stand out during long working days. Test the HP EliteBook 840 G11 at our Kimathi Street store, or order on WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery across Kenya.
Common Questions About the HP EliteBook 840 G11
How much is the HP EliteBook 840 G11 Core Ultra 7 16GB 512GB in Kenya?
The HP EliteBook 840 G11 with a Core Ultra 7 155U, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD costs KSh 93,000 at Mascom International in Nairobi, refurbished by HP and boxed. The price covers the HP power adapter and cord, a 12-month warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery. It has no built-in camera, and a USB webcam is extra. It sits KSh 53,000 above the HP EliteBook 840 G6 and KSh 25,000 above the HP Elite x2 G8.
Does the HP EliteBook 840 G11 have a webcam?
No, this HP EliteBook 840 G11 has no built-in camera, and the screen bezel holds no lens. HP builds camera-free versions for offices where cameras are not allowed, such as secure finance, legal and government rooms. For Zoom, Teams or Google Meet calls, plug in any USB webcam and Windows picks it up within seconds. Our team can add a Full HD USB webcam to your order. The built-in microphones and speakers still work for audio-only calls.
Is the HP EliteBook 840 G11 new, used or refurbished?
The HP EliteBook 840 G11 sold at Mascom International is refurbished by HP at the factory, not a used office return. HP tested each unit, restored it to its own standard and repacked it in an HP box with the adapter and cord. That differs from used stock, which is sold as found with no maker check. Finish and battery health can still vary slightly between units, so confirm the exact one on WhatsApp before paying.
Should I buy the HP EliteBook 840 G11 or the HP EliteBook 8 G1i at KSh 93,000?
Both cost KSh 93,000 at Mascom International, so the choice comes down to the camera and the generation. The HP EliteBook 8 G1i is the newer model from HP's 2025 renaming of the EliteBook range. The HP EliteBook 840 G11 here has a confirmed Core Ultra 7 155U, 16GB and 512GB but no camera. If you make daily video calls without a USB webcam, ask us to confirm the 8 G1i unit's camera first. For camera-free offices, the 840 G11 fits exactly.
How does the HP EliteBook 840 G11 handle KPLC power cuts in Kenya?
The HP EliteBook 840 G11 carries a 56Wh battery and switches to it instantly when KPLC power drops, so your work stays open. It charges through USB-C, which means a laptop-rated USB-C power bank can top it up during a long outage. When the office router goes off, tether to a Safaricom or Airtel Kenya hotspot over Wi-Fi 6. Lower the screen brightness during outages to make the battery last until power returns.
What does the AI engine in the HP EliteBook 840 G11 do?
The HP EliteBook 840 G11 has an Intel AI Boost NPU, a small processor built only for AI tasks. It runs features such as background blur, voice focus and Windows Studio Effects without loading the main chip. That keeps the laptop cooler and the battery lasting longer during calls. Some camera effects need a webcam, so they apply once you plug one in. More Windows and Microsoft 365 features are being written to use this engine.
Is the HP EliteBook 840 G11 good for developers and data analysts?
Yes, the HP EliteBook 840 G11 suits developers and analysts who run VS Code, Docker, Python notebooks and Power BI side by side. The 12-core processor spreads builds and queries across its cores, and 16GB of DDR5 memory holds several heavy apps at once. The 512GB SSD leaves room for project files and local databases. Teams in Westlands tech firms and Strathmore graduate programmes will find it fits daily work, though large model training belongs on a server.
Who should buy the HP EliteBook 840 G11 and who should skip it?
Buy the HP EliteBook 840 G11 if you need a current business laptop for heavy multitasking and work in an office that restricts cameras, or you are happy with a USB webcam. Executives, accountants and IT teams gain the most. Skip it if you make video calls all day on the move and want a camera built in. If your budget is closer to KSh 40,000, the HP EliteBook 840 G6 covers office basics for less.

- Eight efficient cores run up to 3.8 GHz, handling background tasks like syncing and updates quietly.
- Two low-power cores take the lightest jobs, which saves battery when you are only reading or typing.
- Intel AI Boost NPU, a dedicated AI processor, handles noise cancelling and blur effects without slowing other work.
Memory
- 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MT/s, the newer memory standard that moves data faster than DDR4.
- RAM holds your open apps, so 16GB keeps Teams, Outlook, Excel and thirty browser tabs active together.
- Faster DDR5 memory also helps the built-in graphics, since they share this RAM.
- Enough headroom for a lightweight virtual machine or a local test database alongside office apps.
- Switching between windows stays instant, without the pause older 8GB laptops show under load.
Storage
- 512GB solid-state drive on a fast PCIe connection, with no moving parts to wear out.
- Stores about 150,000 phone photos at 3MB each, or roughly 60 hours of 1080p video files.
- Windows starts in seconds and large Excel or PDF files open almost at once.
- Uses a standard M.2 slot, so a technician can move to a 1TB drive later if needed.
- Solid-state drives handle the knocks of a boda boda or matatu commute better than spinning disks.
Display
- 14-inch WUXGA screen at 1920 by 1200 pixels, slightly taller than a standard Full HD panel.
- The 16:10 shape shows extra rows in spreadsheets and more lines of code or contract text.
- IPS panel keeps colours and text clear from wide angles, useful when sharing the screen in meetings.
- Matte finish cuts reflections from office lights and sunny windows.
- No webcam sits above the screen; a USB webcam can clip onto the top edge when needed.
Graphics
- Intel Graphics built into the processor, with four graphics cores and speeds up to 1.95 GHz.
- Drives external monitors through HDMI and Thunderbolt, so a two-screen desk setup works without extra cards.
- Plays 4K video from YouTube and streaming apps smoothly on an external screen.
- Handles Canva, PowerPoint, Lightroom edits and light 3D viewing for business use.
- Not meant for current games or heavy 3D rendering; choose a gaming laptop for those.
Battery
- 56Wh three-cell battery, the energy store that runs the laptop away from mains power.
- Charges through USB-C, so one charger can serve your laptop and a modern phone.
- Laptop-rated USB-C power banks can extend running time during long power cuts.
- The efficient and low-power cores stretch battery life during light work such as email and documents.

- Weighs about 1.41 kg and measures about 16.1 mm thick, easy to carry between meetings.
- Two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports handle charging, docking, displays and fast file transfer.
- Two full-size USB-A ports take flash drives, mice and the USB webcam without adapters.
- HDMI port and 3.5 mm audio jack for projectors, monitors and wired headsets.
