Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 7,500, brand new and sealed in its Nintendo Switch retail case. Most buyers know it simply as the GTA Trilogy, the remastered set of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas in one package. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was developed by Grove Street Games and published by Rockstar Games, and its physical Switch release arrived on February 11, 2022. Pick up a sealed copy at our shop in the Old Mutual Building on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order it for pay-on-arrival delivery countrywide.
Designed for adult gamers who grew up on these titles, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition handles the nostalgia trip without a dusty old console. The common problem is that the original discs no longer run on most modern machines. This edition rebuilds all three games in Unreal Engine 4 with new lighting, upgraded character and vehicle models, and controls modelled on GTA V. Professionals in Upper Hill or Westlands tell us they play a mission in handheld mode on the evening matatu home.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell opened or swapped cartridges at near-new prices, Mascom International sells Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition only with its factory seal intact. At KSh 7,500, it matches The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on our Switch shelf, yet gives you three open-world games. Customers across Nairobi buy Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for brothers, fathers and friends who still quote San Andreas missions. Pay by M-Pesa when the parcel arrives, or walk into the shop and pay at the counter.
Common Questions About the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition
How much is Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for Switch in Kenya?
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition costs KSh 7,500 at Mascom International in Nairobi, brand new and factory sealed. That price covers all three games on one Switch cartridge, plus our 6-month cartridge warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. You pay by M-Pesa or cash only after the sealed case reaches you. Split across GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas, the cost works out to KSh 2,500 per game.
Which games are included in the GTA Trilogy on Switch?
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition includes three full games: GTA III, set in Liberty City; Vice City, set in a 1980s Miami-style city; and San Andreas, which spans three cities and the countryside between them. All three were rebuilt by Grove Street Games with new lighting, sharper models, improved draw distances and a new map and HUD design. Each game keeps its original story, missions and characters, so long-time fans will recognise every major moment.
How does Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition compare with Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy?
Both are remastered collections of three classic games, but they serve different players. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition offers open-world crime stories with adult themes, driving and shooting. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy offers linear, family-friendly platform levels. At Mascom International the GTA Trilogy costs KSh 7,500 and the Crash collection costs KSh 6,000, a KSh 1,500 gap. Pick GTA for mature players who want free-roaming cities; pick Crash for children and lovers of tight platforming.
How does the GTA Trilogy run on Nintendo Switch compared with other consoles?
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on Switch runs at a lower resolution than the PlayStation and Xbox versions. Critics also pointed to frame-rate dips and lower-quality textures in busy scenes. In return, the Switch version adds gyro aiming and touchscreen support, and it is the only way to carry all three games in your pocket. Buyers who value portability over sharp visuals tend to be happy with it; buyers who want the best picture should consider another platform.
Does the GTA Trilogy work on the Switch Lite, Switch OLED and Switch 2?
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition plays on the original Switch, the Switch OLED and the Switch Lite, which runs it in handheld mode. Nintendo Switch 2 reads original Switch cartridges through backward compatibility, so this copy should work on it as well. Because the Switch release did not fit fully on one cartridge, expect an extra download on first setup. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm the latest Switch 2 status before you order.
Will I need data to play the GTA Trilogy in Kenya?
Plan for one sizeable download, because physical Switch copies of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition need extra content installed from the internet. A home Wi-Fi line works best; a Safaricom or Airtel data bundle also does the job if you have enough data. Keep plenty of free space on your console or a microSD card before you start. After that, all three single-player stories play offline, with no Nintendo Switch Online membership needed.
Is the GTA Trilogy suitable for children?
No, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is made for adults, with crime, strong language and violence throughout all three games. Check the age rating printed on the case before buying it as a gift for a teenager. Parents shopping for a younger child should look at Kirby and the Forgotten Land at KSh 7,500 or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at KSh 7,000 instead, both of which suit family play on the same console.
Who should buy the GTA Trilogy and who should skip it?
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition suits adult fans who want GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas together on a portable console. Skip it if you want multiplayer, since this edition is single-player only and San Andreas co-op was removed. Players who mainly want polished modern visuals may find the Switch version rough in places. For a large open world without adult content, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild costs the same KSh 7,500.
Technical Specifications

- Developed by Grove Street Games and published by Rockstar Games — rebuilt in Unreal Engine 4 for current consoles.
- Controls updated to match GTA V, including a weapon wheel and run-and-shoot — easier to handle than the original versions.
- Automatic mission restart after failing — no long drive back to the start point after every mistake.
- Single-player only — some music tracks and cheats from the originals were removed, and San Andreas co-op is gone.

- Plays on the Switch OLED with its larger handheld screen — easier to read the map and HUD on the move.
- Plays on the Switch Lite in handheld mode — the lightest way to carry all three games around Nairobi.
- Works on Nintendo Switch 2 through backward compatibility — confirm the current status with us on WhatsApp before ordering.
- Switch version adds gyro aiming and touchscreen support — tilt the console to fine-tune your aim in handheld play.
- Region-free like other Switch cartridges — a copy bought in Nairobi runs on a console bought in Dubai or London.
Cartridge Build and Storage
- Standard Nintendo Switch game card in a plastic retail case — fits a slim cartridge holder for travel.
- Physical copies need an extra download on first setup — the full collection did not fit on a single cartridge.
- Keep plenty of free console storage or a microSD card ready — the add-on content installs to the Switch, not the card.
- Save data stays on the console — lending the cartridge out does not touch your mission progress.
- Solid-state card with no moving parts — handles heat, dust and matatu bumps better than an optical disc.
- Factory-sealed case with intact wrapping — proof that nobody has played, rented or swapped the cartridge before you.
Inclusions and Updates
- All three remastered games in one package — no separate purchase is needed for Vice City or San Andreas.
- Home Wi-Fi or a Safaricom or Airtel bundle handles the first-setup download and later patches.
- Campaigns play fully offline once installed — no data costs during missions.
- No online multiplayer — a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to play.
- Delivered as one sealed retail case — no extra codes, maps or accessories are bundled.
- Physical Switch release dated February 11, 2022, after the digital launch of November 11, 2021 — a settled, patched edition.
