Mascom International stocks the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds in Lunar Blue at KSh 32,000, brand new and sealed, ready for collection from Old Mutual Building on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds wrap around the edge of the ear like jewellery, with no tip pushed into the canal. Each charge gives up to 7 hours of stereo listening, and the case stores up to 18 hours more. Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint pairing, Snapdragon Sound support and an IPX4 splash rating complete the core package, all controlled through the Bose Music app on Android or iOS.
Designed for creatives, students and active professionals, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds handle long days where awareness matters as much as audio. A university student at Strathmore or USIU can follow a lecture announcement while a playlist runs. An estate agent showing flats in Kilimani can hear a client speak without removing anything. Sealed earbuds trap heat and pressure inside the ear after a few hours. The open cuff avoids that problem, so wearing the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds from morning until late evening stays comfortable. The Lunar Blue finish adds a soft, cool tone that stands out against dark clothing.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops carry only the common black version, Mascom International keeps the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds in Lunar Blue on the shelf. At Mascom International, we're seeing more buyers choose a colour that reflects their style rather than settling for whatever is left. Shoppers throughout Kenya report that the cuff disappears on the ear once they stop thinking about it. Every unit comes sealed, with a 12-month warranty serviced at our CBD desk. Drop by to test the fit with your glasses or earrings, or message us on WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery.
Common Questions About the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds
How much are the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds Lunar Blue in Kenya?
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds in Lunar Blue sell for KSh 32,000, brand new and sealed, at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. You receive the buds, their charging case, a USB-C cable and 12 months of warranty cover. Pay when the parcel arrives, after checking the seal. The Black version costs KSh 31,000, so Lunar Blue costs KSh 1,000 more purely for the colour. Sound, battery and features match exactly between the two finishes.
How do the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds compare with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds?
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds leave your ears open to the world, while the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds at KSh 27,500 seal the canal and cancel noise. Both are sold at Mascom International. Choose the open model if you walk busy streets, work at a reception desk or simply dislike the pressure of ear tips. Choose the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds if you want quiet on flights, in open-plan offices or on loud public transport, where blocking sound matters most.
Is the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds the right choice for me, or should I look elsewhere?
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds suit anyone who must stay aware while listening, such as cyclists, shop attendants, nurses and parents of young children. They are the wrong pick if you want deep bass in a noisy place, because open designs lose low notes to surrounding sound. Anyone who mostly listens on a loud commute will be happier with sealed, noise-cancelling earbuds. Lap swimmers should choose a fully waterproof model like the Shokz OpenSwim Pro, also sold at Mascom International.
Can I keep the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds charged during KPLC power cuts?
Yes, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds charge through a USB-C cable, so any power bank, laptop port or car USB socket keeps the case topped up during a KPLC outage. A full case holds up to 18 hours of extra listening on top of the 7 hours stored in the buds. That reserve can cover several days of commuting with no wall socket at all. Bose does not publish a full recharge time, so plan an overnight charge before a long trip.
Do the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds stay on during gym workouts?
The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds stay put during most gym sessions because the cuff clips around the ear edge instead of relying on a canal seal. A flexible joint lets each bud adapt to your ear shape. Lifting, skipping and treadmill work rarely shift them, according to customers who train in gyms around Nairobi. The IPX4 rating handles sweat, but wipe the buds dry before you return them to the case so moisture does not reach the charging contacts.
Can I wear the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds with glasses or earrings?
Most people can wear the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds alongside spectacles, because the cuff sits on the side of the ear rather than over the top where glasses arms rest. Small stud earrings usually leave room as well. Large hoops or several piercings on the outer ear may clash with the clip, so test the fit first. Our Kimathi Street counter keeps a demo pair, letting you check comfort with your own frames before buying.
What does the spatial audio mode on the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds do?
The spatial audio mode on the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds spreads music around your head so it sounds like it comes from the space in front of you. It suits films, live recordings and relaxed listening at a desk. Turning it on cuts battery life from up to 7 hours to up to 4 hours per charge. Switch modes with a press of the button on the bud or inside the Bose Music app.
Can I use the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds for M-Pesa and mobile banking alerts?
Yes, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds read out any phone notification your handset sends over Bluetooth, including M-Pesa confirmations and banking app alerts. Because your ears stay open, you also hear the shop attendant confirm a Lipa na M-Pesa payment at the till. Multipoint keeps the buds linked to two devices at once, so a work laptop and a personal phone can share them. This helps traders who handle customers and payments throughout the day.

- Spatial listening mode creates a surround effect — songs and films seem to play from the room ahead of you.
- Three-band equaliser covering bass, mid-range and treble — shape the tone in the Bose Music app to suit podcasts or music.
- Auto Volume option — the buds raise playback when your surroundings grow noisy, then lower it again in quieter spaces.
- Stereo mode for everyday use — the default setting that gives the longest listening time on each charge.

- Wireless range of roughly 9 metres — move around a flat or small office while the phone stays behind.

- USB-C cable charging — top up from laptops, power banks or wall plugs you already own at home.
Build and Durability
- IPX4 water resistance — handles sweat and light rain splashes, though the buds should never go underwater.
- Acoustic mesh guards each speaker opening — stops moisture and fine debris from reaching the parts inside.
- Flexible joint on every bud — lets the cuff open and close around ears of different sizes and shapes.
- Clip-style cuff — sits on the outer ear edge, so nothing presses into the canal during long sessions.
- Lunar Blue colourway — a soft, cool tone that suits casual wear and stands out against darker outfits.
Controls and Inputs
- Physical button on every earbud — play, pause, answer calls and switch modes without reaching for your phone.
- Press controls instead of touch surfaces — adjusting the fit or a scarf will not trigger an accidental pause.
- Bose Music app on Android and iOS — manage EQ, Auto Volume, listening modes and firmware updates in one place.
- Integrated microphones for voice calls — speak hands-free while still hearing people and traffic nearby.
- Two-device control through multipoint — one set of buttons manages audio from both connected devices.
