Mascom International stocks Hogwarts Legacy for Nintendo Switch 2 at KSh 8,500, brand new and sealed in its Switch 2 Edition case. Published by Warner Bros. Games and developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy arrived on Switch 2 alongside the console in June 2025. The physical copy is a Game-Key Card: the cartridge unlocks the game, and the console installs 24GB of data from the internet before your first session. Hogwarts Legacy is waiting at our shop on the first floor of Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, with delivery available nationwide. Extra language packs add 1.5GB each, so English-only households keep the install lean.
Built for Harry Potter fans and teenagers across Kenya who want a story they can live inside, Hogwarts Legacy lets you attend the school, get sorted into a house and uncover an ancient magic only you can wield. Parents often struggle to find a big adventure for teens that avoids the graphic content of adult action games. Hogwarts Legacy fills that gap with a rating suited to older children. It also works for university students at Strathmore or USIU who want a relaxing evening of exploration, flying brooms over the Highlands after a long day of lectures, then saving progress before the campus Wi-Fi gets busy.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops say nothing about Game-Key Cards until you get home, Mascom International explains the 24GB install at the counter. At Mascom International, we're seeing families choose Hogwarts Legacy as a school-holiday gift, especially for December and August breaks. Customers across Nairobi tell us the castle alone keeps them exploring for weeks. Visit us in town to collect your copy, or order on WhatsApp and pay on arrival with M-Pesa or cash when it reaches your door.
Common Questions About the Hogwarts Legacy
How much is Hogwarts Legacy Nintendo Switch 2 Edition in Kenya?
Hogwarts Legacy Nintendo Switch 2 Edition costs KSh 8,500, brand new and sealed, at Mascom International on Kimathi Street in Nairobi CBD. That price gets you the Switch 2 game case, the Game-Key Card and a 6-month warranty on the card. Pay-on-arrival delivery means you settle the bill only when the parcel arrives. Hitman World of Assassination Signature Edition costs KSh 500 less in the same Game-Key Card format, if your household prefers stealth action instead.
Does the Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 Edition card hold the full game?
No, Hogwarts Legacy on Switch 2 ships on a Game-Key Card, which holds the licence rather than the game data. Warner Bros. Games support confirms that buyers should plan for a 24GB installation from the internet. Once the install finishes, keep the card in the slot each time you launch the game, because the console checks for it. The upside is that you own a physical card you can lend or resell later, unlike an eShop download. Each console that uses the card still needs its own 24GB install, though.
How much data will Hogwarts Legacy use on Safaricom or Airtel in Kenya?
Hogwarts Legacy needs a 24GB install on Switch 2, plus 1.5GB for each extra language pack you add. On a Safaricom or Airtel Kenya mobile bundle, that is a heavy load, so most buyers run the install on home fibre or a reliable Wi-Fi line. Start it in the evening and leave the console docked overnight. If a KPLC outage interrupts the download, the Switch 2 picks up where it stopped once power and internet return.
Should I buy Hogwarts Legacy or Hitman World of Assassination Signature Edition?
Choose Hogwarts Legacy for a gentle open-world adventure that teenagers can play; choose Hitman World of Assassination Signature Edition for adult stealth puzzles. Hogwarts Legacy costs KSh 8,500 and installs 24GB, while Hitman costs KSh 8,000 and needs a 55.2GB download. Both use Game-Key Cards, so both need internet first. Hitman carries an adult rating for violence, which rules it out for younger family members. Pick Hogwarts Legacy when the console is shared with children, and Hitman when it belongs to an adult who likes replaying levels.
Is Hogwarts Legacy suitable for children in Kenya?
Hogwarts Legacy is rated PEGI 16 and ESRB Teen, so it suits older teenagers rather than young children. Combat involves duelling with spells against dark wizards, goblins and creatures, but without the graphic gore of adult action games. Parents of younger teens may want to watch an hour of play first, since the final call depends on the child. Switch 2 parental controls let you set age limits, track play time and restrict purchases from the console or a phone app.
What can you do in Hogwarts Legacy on Switch 2?
Hogwarts Legacy lets you live as a Hogwarts student, attending classes, learning spells and exploring the castle, Hogsmeade and the surrounding Highlands. You get sorted into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin, then customise your character and gear. Brooms and flying mounts carry you across the open map. You can brew potions, grow plants for battle, rescue magical beasts and decorate the Room of Requirement. Side quests, Merlin Trials and hidden puzzles fill the gaps between story missions, so there is always something nearby to do.
Will Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 Edition work on an original Nintendo Switch?
No, Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 Edition runs only on Nintendo Switch 2 and will not load on the original Switch or Switch Lite. The first Switch has its own separate version of the game, sold as a different product. If you are buying for a family still on the older console, check which model they own before ordering. Mascom International sells the Nintendo Switch 2 console separately, should you want to make the upgrade at the same time and set both up together.
Who should buy Hogwarts Legacy, and who should skip it?
Hogwarts Legacy suits Harry Potter fans, older teenagers and adults who enjoy calm exploration, character customisation and story quests. It is a strong pick for students and young professionals unwinding after work in Kilimani or Westlands. Skip it if you want to play with friends, because the game is single-player only; Mario Kart World at KSh 10,000 is the better group choice. Skip it too if you own only an original Switch, since this card will not run there.
Technical Specifications
Gameplay and Exploration
- Open-world action role-playing game set in the 1800s — explore Hogwarts castle, Hogsmeade village and the wide Highlands around them.
- Play as a fifth-year student who arrives late — the story explains why you can wield an ancient, rare form of magic.
- House sorting into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin — your house changes some quests and the common room you use.
- Broom flight and flying mounts — cross the large map quickly once you unlock them in the early hours.
- Side quests, puzzles and collectibles — plenty to finish between story missions, so the game rewards slow, curious players.
Magic, Combat and Character Progression
- Spell-based combat — chain attack, control and defensive spells together to beat groups of enemies in real time.
- Talent points as you level up — unlock upgrades that suit stealth, duelling or creature-handling play styles.
- Potions and combat plants — brew and grow items that turn a hard fight in your favour.
- Gear with stats and looks — collect robes, hats and gloves, then change their appearance without losing their bonuses.
- Room of Requirement and beast care — build your own space, decorate it and rescue magical creatures for rewards.
Game-Key Card Format and Storage
- Game-Key Card, not a full game card — Warner Bros. Games support confirms the cartridge unlocks a download.
- 24GB installation size — just under a tenth of the Switch 2's 256GB internal storage.
- Extra language packs add 1.5GB each — download only the languages your household actually uses to save space.
- Card stays in the console to launch — it serves as your licence each time you start the game.
- microSD Express cards expand storage — older microSD cards from a first-generation Switch cannot hold Switch 2 games.
Online Needs and Console Requirements
- Internet required for the first install — the game cannot start until the 24GB download completes.
- Single-player only — there is no online multiplayer, co-op or competitive mode in this game.
- No Nintendo Switch Online subscription needed — the full story plays without any paid membership.
- Nintendo Switch 2 console required — this card does not run on the original Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite.
- Switch 2 release from June 2025 — the install pulls the current version, so updates come down with the game.

- Handheld mode — take the Highlands with you on a long matatu or bus ride once the install is done.
- Tabletop mode — prop the console up and play with detached Joy-Con 2 controllers when sharing a table.

Age Rating and Languages
- Rated PEGI 16 and ESRB Teen — suited to older teenagers and adults rather than young children.
- Fantasy violence through spell duels — enemies include dark wizards, goblins, spiders and trolls.
- Switch 2 parental controls — set age limits, restrict eShop spending and track daily play time from a phone.
- English voice and text — easy for Kenyan players to follow the story without subtitles in another language.
- Additional languages as 1.5GB downloads — useful for families who prefer French, Spanish or German audio.
