Vivo Y31d 128GB 4GB is now in stock at Mascom International for KSh 27,900, brand new and sealed. This entry tier of the Vivo Y31d pairs 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM with a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chip. A 7200mAh battery, 44W wired charging and IP68 plus IP69 dust and water protection set it apart from most phones near this price. The 6.75-inch 120Hz screen reaches 1250 nits in bright light, so maps and M-Pesa messages stay readable outdoors. Pick one up at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for university students, market traders, delivery riders and sales teams across Kenya, the Vivo Y31d fixes the most common budget-phone complaint: a battery that dies before evening. Its 7200mAh cell carries a full day of WhatsApp, TikTok and calls with charge to spare. Bypass charging lets the phone run straight off the cable during long gaming sessions, which keeps heat away from the battery. Rain, dust and a spilled cup of tea will not end its life early. For buyers who mainly message, browse, pay and post, the Vivo Y31d covers everything at the lowest price in this lineup.
Unlike the many 4GB phones in Kenyan electronics shops that cut corners on durability, the Vivo Y31d keeps the same battery, stereo speakers and IP69 protection as its pricier 6GB siblings. You give up only some RAM headroom, not hardware. Customers across Nairobi tell us battery life is the main reason they replace a phone, and this model answers that directly. Test the Vivo Y31d at our Kimathi Street store, or order on WhatsApp and pay only when it reaches you, in any of Kenya's 47 counties.
Common Questions About the Vivo Y31d
Is the Vivo Y31d 128GB 4GB worth KSh 27,900 in Kenya?
Yes, for buyers who value battery life and toughness over raw speed, the Vivo Y31d 128GB 4GB is strong value at KSh 27,900. Few phones near this price combine a 7200mAh battery, IP69 protection and stereo speakers. Spread over two years of use, the price works out to about KSh 38 a day. You also get 44W charging, a 120Hz screen and 128GB of space. Mascom International sells every unit brand new and sealed, with official local cover.
Vivo Y31d 128GB 4GB or 128GB 6GB, which should I buy?
Choose the 4GB Vivo Y31d if you mostly use WhatsApp, calls, mobile money and social media, and the 6GB version if you multitask heavily. Both share the same 128GB storage, battery, chip and screen at Mascom International. The extra 2GB of RAM costs KSh 1,700 more, at KSh 29,600, and keeps more apps alive in the background. On the 4GB model, a heavy game may reload after you switch to a long chat. Light and moderate users keep that KSh 1,700 in their pocket.
Does the Vivo Y31d support Safaricom 5G?
No, the Vivo Y31d is a 4G phone and does not connect to Safaricom 5G. It supports 4G LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40 and 41, covering the main frequencies Safaricom, Airtel Kenya and Telkom Kenya use for 4G. In practice, that means quick browsing, smooth video calls and HD streaming in Nairobi and most upcountry towns. Dual nano-SIM slots keep a personal line and a business line active together. If 5G matters to you, see the buyer guidance below.
How long does the Vivo Y31d battery last on one charge?
The Vivo Y31d's 7200mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day of heavy use and often stretches into a second day for lighter users. That capacity is 44 percent larger than the 5000mAh cells common in budget phones. When it runs low, the 44W charger refills it to 50 percent in about 43 minutes. Reverse wired charging lets you top up a friend's phone or earbuds by cable. During Kenya Power outages, that reserve keeps you reachable long after other phones go dark.
Is the Vivo Y31d really waterproof and dustproof?
Yes, the Vivo Y31d carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, protection usually found on far pricier phones. IP68 covers immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. IP69 adds resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Dust blowing across Thika Road or a sudden Nairobi downpour will not stop it. Still, rinse the phone with clean water after sea or pool contact. Let the charging port dry fully before you plug in the cable.
Can the Vivo Y31d run PUBG Mobile and Free Fire?
Yes, the Vivo Y31d runs PUBG Mobile, Free Fire and eFootball at balanced graphics settings. Its Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 is a 6nm chip with four performance cores reaching 2.9GHz, enough for casual and mid-level gaming. With 4GB of RAM, a game may restart if you leave it to answer messages for a while. Bypass charging powers the phone directly from the cable while you play, keeping the battery cooler. Competitive players wanting more headroom should look at a 6GB model.
How good are the Vivo Y31d cameras for daily photos?
The Vivo Y31d takes clear, well-exposed daylight photos with its 50MP main camera, and its 8MP selfie camera handles video calls well. Both cameras record 1080p video at 30 frames per second, which suits WhatsApp status, TikTok clips and family events. Phase-detection autofocus locks onto subjects quickly, even children who will not sit still. Low-light shots come out softer, as expected at this tier. Creators who post daily will want the stronger camera hardware on a higher Vivo model.
Who should buy the Vivo Y31d 128GB 4GB, and who should skip it?
Buy the Vivo Y31d 128GB 4GB if you want the longest battery and toughest build for the least money. It suits students, first-time smartphone owners, riders, traders and parents buying for teenagers. Skip it if you need 5G, sharp night photos or heavy multitasking. Those buyers fit better with the Vivo Y500 at KSh 44,400-47,700, or the Vivo V70 FE from KSh 55,000, both stocked at Mascom International. Heavy video hoarders should consider the Vivo Y31d 256GB 6GB at KSh 35,000.
How much can 128GB hold on the Vivo Y31d?
The 128GB on the Vivo Y31d holds thousands of photos, a large WhatsApp media backup and dozens of apps comfortably. Android and preinstalled apps take part of that space, so expect slightly less for your own files. One hour of 1080p video uses roughly 8GB, so 40GB of free space covers about five hours of recording. There is no microSD slot, so move old videos to Google Photos or a computer every few months. Fast UFS 2.2 storage keeps apps opening quickly.
