SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB is available at Mascom International for KSh 2,550, brand new and sealed, under the manufacturer code SDCZ74-032G-G46. The SanDisk Ultra Luxe connects over USB 3.2 Gen 1, the 5Gbps standard that some packs and shops still call USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 3.0. Its cast-metal silver body weighs about 7.5 grams, and a keyring loop is built into the end. You can pick up the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB at our shop in Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, in Nairobi CBD, or order it for delivery.
Built for university students, accountants and NGO field staff across Kenya, the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB carries the files you need between home, office and campus. Students at Kenyatta University and JKUAT move assignments, slides and project reports between their laptops and lab machines. Accountants take spreadsheets and scanned receipts to a client without relying on patchy Wi-Fi or email size limits. Field staff copy their reports onto it before leaving Nairobi, so a laptop fault upcountry does not wipe out a week of work. At 32GB, the drive holds about 10,000 phone photos or a full semester of notes.
Where many Nairobi electronics shops sell loose drives with no paperwork, Mascom International sells every SanDisk Ultra Luxe sealed, with a receipt and a 6-month warranty. Customers across Nairobi tell us the metal body is what made them switch from plastic drives that cracked in a trouser pocket. If you want something smaller to leave plugged in, the SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB costs KSh 2,200 at our shop. Visit us on Kimathi Street, pay with M-Pesa, or order the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.
Common Questions About the SanDisk Ultra Luxe
How much is the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB in Kenya?
The SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB costs KSh 2,550 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD, sold sealed in its retail pack. That price includes a 6-month Mascom warranty against manufacturing defects and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. The 64GB version costs KSh 2,800, only KSh 250 more for twice the space, so think about how much you plan to store before you choose. You can pay by M-Pesa, card or cash at the shop on Kimathi Street.
Is the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB enough for school and office files?
Yes, the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB is enough for most school and office work, because Word files, PDFs and spreadsheets are small. It also fits about 10,000 phone photos or around four hours of 1080p video. Usable space after formatting sits slightly below 32GB, which is normal for every flash drive. It starts to feel tight once you carry films, large design files or full phone backups. For that kind of load, the 128GB version at KSh 3,500 is the better fit.
How does the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB compare with the SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB?
The SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB costs KSh 2,550 and the SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB costs KSh 2,200 at Mascom International, a gap of KSh 350. The Ultra Fit is a tiny low-profile drive meant to stay plugged into one laptop, car radio or TV for months. The SanDisk Ultra Luxe is a full-length metal drive with a keyring loop, made to be carried and plugged into many machines each day. Pick the Ultra Fit to leave it in place; pick the SanDisk Ultra Luxe for daily carrying.
Can the SanDisk Ultra Luxe handle dust, rain and a daily matatu commute in Nairobi?
The SanDisk Ultra Luxe has a cast-metal body that shrugs off the knocks and pocket pressure that crack many plastic drives on a matatu or boda boda ride. SanDisk gives it no water or dust rating, so treat it as a dry-use drive. Blow dust out of the USB plug before inserting it, especially in the dry months. If it gets soaked in the long rains, let it dry fully before use. Clipping it to your keys stops it slipping out of a pocket on the road.
Will the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB work with an older USB 2.0 computer?
Yes, the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB works in older USB 2.0 ports, including those on ageing office desktops and school computer labs. It runs at USB 2.0 speed in those ports, so big copies take longer. In a USB 3.0 or newer port, often marked blue or with an SS logo, it uses the full 5Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 link. It has a USB-A plug, so laptops with only USB-C ports need a USB-C to USB-A adapter; ask us on WhatsApp for a compatible one.
Does the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB come with backup or recovery software?
SanDisk lists RescuePRO Deluxe file recovery software with the SanDisk Ultra Luxe, which can help bring back photos and documents deleted by mistake. The SanDisk website explains how to download it. The drive has no built-in hardware encryption, so private files need protecting another way. For KRA returns, payslips or client records, Windows users can lock the drive with BitLocker To Go, and Mac users can use an encrypted disk image. A password stops a stranger from reading files on a lost drive.
How do I tell a genuine SanDisk Ultra Luxe from a fake in Nairobi?
Buy from a shop that issues a receipt and a warranty, because fake flash drives often come in packs that look identical. A genuine SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB carries the model code SDCZ74-032G-G46 on its packaging. Many fakes report a false capacity, then corrupt files once the small real chip fills up. Test any new drive by copying a large folder and opening the files afterwards. At Mascom International we will run that test with you at the Kimathi Street counter before you pay.
Who should buy the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB, and who should skip it?
Buy the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB if you move documents, slides and photos between computers and want a metal drive that survives daily handling. It suits students, teachers, secretaries and anyone who prints documents away from home. Skip it if you edit video, back up a whole laptop or carry a library of films, since 32GB fills quickly. Those buyers should look at the 128GB or 512GB version. If your laptop or phone has only USB-C ports, the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 64GB at KSh 3,050 plugs in without an adapter.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Capacity
- 32GB of flash storage — room for about 10,000 phone photos or around four hours of 1080p video.
- Usable space is slightly under 32GB after formatting, as with every flash drive sold at this size.
- Holds thousands of Word, Excel and PDF files, enough for several years of coursework and office records.
- Plug-and-play storage — no driver or app to install; the computer shows it as a removable drive within seconds.
- Model code SDCZ74-032G-G46 — the SanDisk part number to match against the pack when you buy.
- Flash memory with no moving parts — it tolerates bumps and drops far better than a portable hard drive.
Interface and Transfer Speed
- USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface — a 5Gbps link, the same speed class also labelled USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0.
- Older packs and shops may print USB 3.1 Gen 1 — the name changed over the years, but the 5Gbps speed did not.
- SanDisk rates read speed by capacity and lists up to 400MB/s for the 128GB version of this drive.
- Write speed is lower than read speed, as on every flash drive, so saving files takes longer than opening them.
- Backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports — it still works there, only at the slower USB 2.0 speed.
- Use a USB 3.0 or newer port, often coloured blue or marked SS, to get the full 5Gbps link.
Compatibility
- USB Type-A plug — fits the standard rectangular USB ports on most laptops, desktops, TVs and printers.
- Works with Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS computers without extra software or drivers.
- Plays music and video on many TVs, car stereos and projectors, depending on the file formats each one supports.
- Laptops with only USB-C ports, such as recent MacBook Air models, need a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
- Android phones that support USB OTG can open its files through a USB-C OTG adapter.
- Can be reformatted to exFAT or NTFS to store single files bigger than 4GB, which FAT32 cannot hold.
Build and Durability
- Cast-metal casing in silver — tougher than plastic shells and far less likely to crack under pressure.
- Weighs about 7.5 grams and measures roughly 40mm long, 16mm wide and 6mm thick — lighter than most house keys.
- Built-in keyring loop — clip it to your keys or a lanyard so it does not get left in a machine.
- Rated operating temperature of 0°C to 35°C — do not leave it on a car dashboard in direct sun.
- No water or dust rating — keep the USB plug clean and dry before every use.
- Solid metal shell with no moving parts inside, so there is little to rattle loose over years of carrying.

Package Contents
Inside the sealed SanDisk pack you get the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB drive itself, with the keyring loop built into its metal body. SanDisk lists RescuePRO Deluxe recovery software for this drive as a download. There are no cables, caps or cases in the box, since a USB-A drive needs none. If your laptop has only USB-C ports, a USB-C to USB-A adapter is sold separately at Mascom International, or the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe plugs in directly.
Warranty
Mascom International backs the SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB with a 6-month warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal use, such as a drive that stops being recognised or will not hold data. The warranty covers the drive, not the files stored on it, so keep a second copy of anything important. Claims are handled at our Nairobi CBD service desk on Kimathi Street.
