Mascom International stocks the Nothing CMF Buds 2 at KSh 6,300, brand new and sealed, with hybrid noise cancellation rated up to 48dB, an 11mm PMI driver and up to 55 hours of playback with the case. Sold under CMF, the lower-priced line from the London-based maker, the Nothing CMF Buds 2 connects over Bluetooth 5.4 and stays linked to two devices at once. Six microphones handle your calls, and the earbuds carry an IP55 rating against dust and water. Pick up the Nothing CMF Buds 2 at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or have it delivered.
Designed for office workers, journalists and anyone who lives on calls, the Nothing CMF Buds 2 handles long workdays without fuss. Picture a slow morning in Thika Road traffic, a day of meetings in town and an evening at the gym. Cheaper earbuds often run flat by lunch or let every engine and hooter through. Here, 13.5 hours per charge with ANC off, or 7.5 hours with ANC on, covers most of that day on the earbuds alone. Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 keep your voice steady when you step outside for a client call.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops push either no-name earbuds or costly big-brand pairs, Mascom International offers the Nothing CMF Buds 2 as a practical middle ground. At Mascom International, we're seeing more professionals pick this model as a work pair that lives in the laptop bag. The Nothing X app adds a custom equaliser and a Find My Earbuds feature, handy if a bud slips under a car seat. Visit our Kimathi Street shop to test the fit, or message us on WhatsApp to order with pay-on-arrival delivery.
Common Questions About the Nothing CMF Buds 2
What is the Nothing CMF Buds 2 price in Kenya?
The Nothing CMF Buds 2 sells for KSh 6,300 at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, as genuine retail stock. You get the earbuds, charging case, USB-C cable and extra ear tips, plus pay-on-arrival delivery to every county. No wall adapter comes in the box, and there is no local Nothing warranty, as explained below. The Nothing CMF Buds 2 sits KSh 1,000 above the Nothing CMF Buds 2a and KSh 700 below the Nothing CMF Buds 2 Plus.
Nothing CMF Buds 2 vs Nothing CMF Buds 2 Plus: is the extra KSh 700 worth it?
The extra KSh 700 is worth it mainly if your Android phone supports LDAC for high-resolution streaming. The Nothing CMF Buds 2 Plus adds LDAC, a 12mm LCP driver, 50dB adaptive noise cancellation and up to 61.5 hours with the case. The Nothing CMF Buds 2 keeps the same six microphones and IP55 rating, with 48dB ANC and 55 hours in total. iPhone users gain nothing from LDAC, so the Nothing CMF Buds 2 is the sensible buy for them.
How well does the Nothing CMF Buds 2 block noise on a matatu or in a busy office?
The Nothing CMF Buds 2 uses hybrid noise cancellation rated up to 48dB, which removes most steady engine and air-conditioning hum. Hybrid means microphones sit both outside and inside each earbud, so the system hears noise before and after it reaches your ear. On a matatu along Mombasa Road, loud music and hooting will soften but not vanish. In an open-plan office in Westlands, fans and keyboard clatter drop well into the background.
Can the Nothing CMF Buds 2 last a full day during KPLC power cuts?
Yes, the Nothing CMF Buds 2 can run a full day and more without a socket. Each earbud plays up to 13.5 hours with ANC off, and the case stretches total playback to 55 hours. With ANC on, expect 7.5 hours per charge and 32 hours in total. When KPLC power returns briefly, a 10-minute USB-C charge adds about 2.4 hours of listening with ANC on, and a power bank can refill the case as well.
What does the Nothing X app add to the Nothing CMF Buds 2?
The Nothing X app gives the Nothing CMF Buds 2 a custom equaliser and a Find My Earbuds feature. The equaliser lets you shape bass, mids and treble to suit gospel, podcasts or Afrobeats. Find My Earbuds helps you track down a bud that has slipped out of sight. The earbuds also support a spatial audio effect, which widens the sound for films and series so voices feel placed around you. The app is free on Android and iPhone.
Can I connect the Nothing CMF Buds 2 to my laptop and phone at the same time?
Yes, the Nothing CMF Buds 2 supports dual connection, so it stays paired to a laptop and a phone together. You can follow a Google Meet session on your laptop and still pick up a call on your phone without opening Bluetooth settings. Google Fast Pair speeds up first-time pairing on Android, and Microsoft Swift Pair does the same on Windows laptops. Bluetooth 5.4 keeps the link steady across a typical desk setup.
How do the pinch controls on the Nothing CMF Buds 2 work?
The Nothing CMF Buds 2 uses pinch controls on each earbud stem rather than touch pads. Because you must squeeze the stem, brushing your hair or adjusting a scarf will not pause the music by accident. Pinch gestures handle music and calls, and you can choose which pinch does what inside the Nothing X app. On supported Nothing phones, a pinch can also open a ChatGPT voice conversation for quick questions while your phone stays in your pocket.
Who is the Nothing CMF Buds 2 right for, and who should look elsewhere?
The Nothing CMF Buds 2 is right for professionals, journalists and frequent callers who want long battery life and dependable noise cancellation for KSh 6,300. It also suits iPhone owners, since its AAC codec covers what an iPhone streams. Look elsewhere if you want LDAC high-resolution audio on Android; the Nothing CMF Buds 2 Plus or Nothing CMF Buds Pro 2 fit better. Buyers on the tightest budget can save KSh 1,000 with the Nothing CMF Buds 2a.
Technical Specifications
Audio Hardware and Sound Profile
- 11mm PMI driver — a speaker cone made from a light, stiff polymer that responds quickly, giving tight bass and clean vocals.
- N52 neodymium magnets with high-purity copper wiring — stronger magnets move the cone precisely, so music stays clear as volume rises.
- Dirac Opteo tuning — Dirac's correction software adjusts the sound inside each earbud for a balanced, natural tone from day one.
- Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 — adds extra low-end weight for dancehall, Afrobeats and hip-hop listeners who want more thump.
- Hybrid ANC up to 48dB with Transparency mode — blocks steady background noise, or lets your surroundings in when you need to hear them.
- Spatial audio effect — spreads sound around your head, so films, series and live recordings feel wider than plain stereo.
Wireless Connectivity
- Bluetooth 5.4 — a current Bluetooth version that gives a stable link to phones, tablets and laptops in everyday use.
- AAC and SBC codecs — AAC delivers good quality on iPhones and most Android phones, while SBC covers older devices.
- Dual connection — stays paired to two devices together, so calls and media move between laptop and phone without re-pairing.
- Google Fast Pair — a pop-up appears on Android phones when you open the case, and one tap completes pairing.
- Microsoft Swift Pair — the same quick pop-up pairing on Windows laptops, with no hunting through Bluetooth menus.
Battery and Charging
- Up to 13.5 hours per charge with ANC off — a full workday plus the ride home on the earbuds alone.
- Up to 7.5 hours per charge with ANC on — enough for a Nairobi to Mombasa bus trip with noise cancellation running.
- Up to 55 hours in total with the case and ANC off, or 32 hours with ANC on — about a week of normal use.
- 460mAh case battery and 53mAh in each earbud — the case refills the earbuds several times before it needs charging itself.
- 10-minute quick charge for about 2.4 hours of playback with ANC on, through the USB-C port on the case.
Build and Durability
- IP55-rated earbuds — protected against dust and low-pressure water jets, so rain, sweat and gym sessions are fine.
- IPX2-rated charging case — copes with light dripping water only, so keep the case dry and zipped away in heavy rain.
- Stem-style in-ear design with silicone tips — the stem holds controls and microphones, while the tips seal the ear canal.
- USB-C charging port — the same cable type as most current Android phones and recent iPhones, so one cable covers both.
- Light Green, Dark Grey and Orange finishes — ask on WhatsApp which colour is in stock before you come to collect.
Controls and Inputs
- Pinch controls on each stem — you squeeze rather than tap, so accidental touches while adjusting a collar do not pause playback.
- Custom gestures in the Nothing X app — choose which pinch plays, pauses, skips tracks or answers calls to suit your habits.
- Six HD microphones across both earbuds — capture your voice clearly for phone calls, voice notes and video meetings.
- Clear Voice Technology 3.0 — separates your voice from background chatter, so callers hear you rather than the traffic.
- Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 — cuts the rumble that breezes cause on outdoor calls, rooftop meetings and open roads.
