NHL 24 is available at Mascom International for KSh 7,400, brand new and sealed as the PS5 Physical Disc Standard Edition. EA Sports released NHL 24 on October 6, 2023, with Colorado Avalanche defenceman Cale Makar on the cover. Its play revolves around the Exhaust Engine, a Frostbite-powered system that combines Sustained Pressure and Goalie Fatigue to open concentrated scoring chances. Physics-based contact reworked body checks, and a well-timed hit can even break the glass. Pick up NHL 24 from Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or have it delivered on pay-on-arrival terms.
NHL 24 is aimed at hockey fans who judge a sports title by its collisions. If you follow the Kenya Sevens for the hard tackles, the rag-doll reactions and turnovers that checks produce here will feel familiar. Players who like to grind an opponent down get the Sustained Pressure System, which temporarily lowers defenders' attributes while you hold the puck in their zone. Online club players who enjoy tending goal get Goalie Fatigue, the Tethered Control System and 75 new goalie animations. Attacks that fizzle out after one shot are a common frustration, and NHL 24 answers it by rewarding patience.
Mascom International prices NHL 24 at KSh 7,400, which is KSh 1,900 above our NHL 25 disc, because sealed copies of the 2023 release are harder to source. We say it plainly: if you want the cheaper and newer hockey title, NHL 25 at KSh 5,500 gives better value. Unlike traditional electronics retailers in Kenya, we explain that before you pay rather than after. Buyers throughout Kenya tell us that kind of straight answer is why they come back for consoles, controllers and games. Visit the store to see the sealed copy, or message us to reserve NHL 24.
Common Questions About the NHL 24
What is the NHL 24 PS5 disc price in Kenya?
The NHL 24 PS5 disc costs KSh 7,400 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD, brand new and factory-sealed. The amount covers the 6-month disc warranty in the section below and pay-on-arrival delivery, settled in cash or M-Pesa when the courier hands it over. It sits KSh 1,900 above our NHL 25 disc because sealed copies of the 2023 title are scarcer now. Value-focused buyers should take NHL 25 at KSh 5,500, while NHL 24 suits those who want this specific year.
How does the Exhaust Engine shape NHL 24 matches?
The Exhaust Engine turns sustained attacking pressure into scoring chances, and it defines how NHL 24 plays. Keep the puck in the offensive zone long enough and the Sustained Pressure System temporarily lowers your opponents' attributes. Goalie Fatigue builds at the same time, so a tired goaltender reacts worse to shots late in a long spell of pressure. Crowd reactions also respond to Exhaust Engine peaks, so the arena noise rises with your attack. Patient zone time is the habit NHL 24 rewards most clearly.
How hard do body checks hit in NHL 24?
Body checks in NHL 24 run on physics-based contact, so collisions produce rag-doll and animation-based reactions rather than fixed outcomes. EA designed the system to create more turnovers, which means a clean hit at the blue line can flip possession immediately. Well-timed checks can even break the glass, a moment that stays satisfying in head-to-head play. Flex Moments then add 75 new goal celebrations you can map to controller buttons. In NHL 24, contact is a central tactic rather than a side feature.
What changed for goalies in NHL 24?
NHL 24 gave goaltenders three new systems and 75 new animations, which makes shooting against them less predictable. Goalie Fatigue lowers a keeper's reactions after sustained pressure. The Tethered Control System lets you slide side to side for saves, then returns the goalie to the centre of the net automatically. The Instinct System has goalies guess a shot's location and possibly earn a bonus on the save. If you like playing in net in World of Chel, NHL 24 gives that role more to manage.
Is NHL 24 still worth buying when NHL 25 costs less?
NHL 24 is worth buying only if you specifically want its Exhaust Engine style or the Cale Makar year in your collection. On measured terms, NHL 25 is newer, launching October 4, 2024, against October 6, 2023, and cheaper at Mascom International, KSh 5,500 against KSh 7,400. NHL 25 replaced the pressure-led design with ICE-Q, which rebuilt skating and CPU behaviour. NHL 24 also released on PS4 while NHL 25 skipped it, though this copy is the PS5 disc. Most first-time buyers in Kenya should choose NHL 25.
Will the NHL 24 disc play on a Kenyan PSN account or an imported PS5?
Yes, the NHL 24 disc plays on any disc-equipped PS5, whatever country the console or your account was registered in. Many Kenyan players run PSN accounts set to the UK or the US, and a disc sidesteps store-region questions entirely. No gift card or regional store purchase is needed to start the offline modes. Consoles brought in from Dubai or London read the disc the same way. PlayStation 5 Pro and Digital Edition owners need the detachable Disc Drive for PS5 attached first.
Who should buy NHL 24, and who should skip it?
Buy NHL 24 if hard hitting, goalie fatigue and patient attacking pressure are what you want from hockey, or if you collect EA's NHL years on disc. Skip it if price comes first, because NHL 25 at Mascom International costs KSh 1,900 less and is the newer release. Skip it as well if you want the freshest rosters, and ask us on WhatsApp which current hockey titles are on the shelf. Anyone with a Digital Edition console and no add-on drive should buy the drive first.
Can you play NHL 24 online with friends on Xbox?
Yes, NHL 24 offers cross-play in HUT and World of Chel, so you can team up with and play against same-generation players on Xbox Series consoles. Online modes need an internet connection, an EA account and PlayStation Plus on your PS5. World of Chel adds EASHL Playoffs, a do-or-die 16-game bracket where each player earns individual Ranking Points. A stable Faiba or Zuku fibre line keeps those matches steadier than mobile data. Online access depends on EA keeping NHL 24 servers live, while offline modes run regardless.
Technical Specifications
Exhaust Engine and Pressure Play
- Exhaust Engine combines Sustained Pressure and Goalie Fatigue to create concentrated pockets of scoring opportunity during attacks.
- Frostbite, EA's in-house engine, powers the Exhaust Engine behind every NHL 24 match you play.
- Sustained Pressure System temporarily lowers opposing players' attributes once you hold the offensive zone long enough.
- Event reactions make the crowd respond to Exhaust Engine peaks, rushes, big stoppages and comeback moments.
- Scoring chances grow the longer pressure lasts, so cycling the puck pays off more than one hopeful shot.
Physical Contact and Celebrations
- Physics-Based Contact replaces fixed hit animations with rag-doll and animation-based reactions on every body check.
- Contact creates more turnovers, so defending with the body becomes a dependable way to win possession back.
- Well-timed hits can break the glass, a visible reward for reading the play and timing the check.
- Flex Moments add 75 new goal celebration animations to choose from each time you score.
- Celebrations map to controller buttons, so your chosen move fires instantly instead of through a menu.
- New camera angles and lighting effects in Flex Moments bring replays closer to a television broadcast.
Goaltending Systems
- Goalie Fatigue builds under sustained pressure and changes how goaltenders react to incoming shots late in shifts.
- 75 new goalie animations widen the range of saves and recoveries you see across a full season.
- Tethered Control System slides your goalie side to side for saves, then returns them to centre automatically.
- Instinct System lets goalies guess a shot's location, with a possible bonus applied to that save attempt.
- Human goalies in World of Chel gain most, since tethering keeps positioning in the net manageable.
