Mascom International stocks Mortal Kombat 1 at KSh 7,000, brand new and sealed, as a physical game card for the Nintendo Switch. Published by WB Games and developed by NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat 1 launched on 19 September 2023. It supports TV, tabletop and handheld modes, two players on one console, and online play through Nintendo Switch Online. Nintendo lists a 42.9GB file size and says a microSD card with at least 32GB of free space is required, sold separately. You can buy Mortal Kombat 1 at our shop, First Floor Room 4, Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Designed for players who want the current chapter of the series, Mortal Kombat 1 restarts the story in a universe rebuilt by Liu Kang as Fire God. Familiar fighters return with new backstories, so long-time fans and newcomers start on equal footing. The big change is the Kameo system, where you pick an assist partner who jumps in for extra attacks and combo breaks. Solo players get the story campaign, classic Towers and Invasions, a seasonal board-style mode full of fights and unlocks. Mortal Kombat 1 works well for students at USIU or Moi University and young professionals who game after work.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that sell opened or second-hand cartridges as new stock, Mascom International sells sealed retail cases with a written card warranty. Buyers throughout Kenya report that the storage requirement catches them out, so our team checks your microSD needs before you leave the counter. Mortal Kombat 1 is the series entry most Switch fighting fans ask us for by name. Walk into our Kimathi Street shop for Mortal Kombat 1, or send a WhatsApp message and pay on arrival, with Lipa na M-Pesa or cash, wherever you are in Kenya.
Common Questions About the Mortal Kombat 1
What is the Mortal Kombat 1 Nintendo Switch price in Kenya?
Mortal Kombat 1 for Nintendo Switch sells for KSh 7,000 brand new and sealed at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That buys the standard edition game card in its retail case, backed by a 6-month card warranty. Delivery is pay-on-arrival across Kenya, so you pay by M-Pesa or cash only after checking the seal. The price does not include the microSD card Nintendo says you need for the install, which we sell separately at the same counter.
Should I buy Mortal Kombat 1 or Bayonetta 3 for mature Switch action?
Buy Mortal Kombat 1 at KSh 7,000 if you want one-on-one fights against friends or online opponents, and Bayonetta 3 at KSh 8,000 for a single-player action campaign. Mortal Kombat 1 supports two players on one console, while Nintendo lists Bayonetta 3 for one player only. Bayonetta 3 needs far less space, with 14.4GB listed, against 42.9GB for Mortal Kombat 1. Choose Mortal Kombat 1 for competition and Bayonetta 3 for a story you play alone.
How much storage does Mortal Kombat 1 need, and will the download work on Kenyan internet?
Mortal Kombat 1 needs a microSD card with at least 32GB of free space, according to Nintendo, against a total file size of 42.9GB. A download that size eats into mobile bundles quickly, so run it on Safaricom Home Fibre, Zuku or office Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. Leave the console plugged in during the install, because a KPLC power cut mid-download simply means waiting for it to resume. We can match you with a suitable microSD card in store.
Who should buy Mortal Kombat 1, and who should skip it?
Mortal Kombat 1 suits adults who want the newest story in the series, Kameo partners and regular competitive matches. Skip it if you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X, where the same game is available with fuller visuals. Skip it too if you want the lowest cost, because Mortal Kombat 11 sits at KSh 6,000 on our shelf. Parents with younger children should choose Mario Tennis Aces at KSh 8,000, since Mortal Kombat 1 carries an ESRB Mature rating.
What are Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1?
Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 are assist characters you pick alongside your main fighter before each match. During a fight you call them in for a quick attack, a combo extension, a throw or a breaker that stops an opponent's combo. Classic names such as Goro, Sonya Blade and Jax appear in the Kameo line-up. Pairing the right Kameo with your main fighter changes how a character plays, which keeps experimenting interesting long after the story ends.
What is Invasions mode in Mortal Kombat 1?
Invasions is a seasonal single-player mode in Mortal Kombat 1 where you move across a board-style map of fights, challenges and hidden rewards. Each season brings a theme, new opponents with modifiers, and items such as skins and gear to unlock. Your fighters level up as you play, so progress feels steady even in short sessions. It suits players who game in short bursts, such as a lunch break in Upper Hill or a commute home to Eldoret.
How does Mortal Kombat 1 run on the Nintendo Switch?
Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch plays the full game, but with noticeably simpler visuals than the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. Reviewers at launch pointed to lower-detail character models and backgrounds on the Switch build. Nintendo also notes that compatibility and play experience may differ on the Switch Lite. The trade-off is portability: you can fight in handheld mode anywhere, and our staff will happily talk through these limits before you buy.
Does Mortal Kombat 1 include the Khaos Reigns expansion?
No, this standard edition of Mortal Kombat 1 does not include Khaos Reigns, which adds a story expansion and extra Kameo Fighters. Nintendo bundles that content in the Definitive Edition and sells it separately as the Definitive Edition Upgrade for owners of the base game. Buying the upgrade needs a Nintendo Account and an internet connection. The base game on this card still contains the full main story, Towers, Invasions and the core roster.
