Mascom International stocks the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 with an Intel Core 7 150U processor, 8GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD at KSh 138,500. Each unit is brand new and sealed, shipping with FreeDOS so your company can load its own Windows image or Linux build. The 14-inch anti-glare IPS display shows 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution inside narrow bezels. This is the faster-chip version of the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14, and it is on the shelf at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for field engineers and logistics coordinators across Kenya, the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 with Core 7 handles route planning, telemetry dashboards, CAD viewers and big Excel models without dragging. A coordinator in Industrial Area may run a fleet-tracking map, a warehouse system and WhatsApp Web at once. An engineer on a mast site near Nakuru needs quick exports from survey software before the light fades. Slow chips turn those moments into waiting. The Core 7 150U's higher boost speed cuts that wait, and the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 keeps an RJ-45 port for configuring routers and controllers on site.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops offer one processor and call it enough, Mascom International lets you compare the Core 5 and Core 7 versions of the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 side by side. Customers across Nairobi tell us the faster chip pays off when exports and reports run daily. At Mascom International, we're seeing transport, telecoms and construction firms choose this model for staff who spend half the week outside the office. Test it at our Kimathi Street shop, or order on WhatsApp and pay when it reaches your depot or site office.
Common Questions About the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14
How much does the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 Core 7 150U 8GB cost in Kenya?
The HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 with Intel Core 7 150U, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD costs KSh 138,500, brand new, at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That includes the HP power adapter and cord, a 12-month warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery to any county. It runs FreeDOS, so budget separately for Windows. The Core 5 120U version with 8GB costs KSh 116,500, which is KSh 22,000 less.
Is the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 Core 7 worth KSh 31,500 more than the HP 250R G10 Core 7 150U?
Both laptops use the same Intel Core 7 150U chip, 8GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB SSD, so raw speed is similar. The HP 250R G10 costs KSh 107,000 and has a larger 15.6-inch FHD screen. The HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 adds an aluminium body, a 14-inch 16:10 WUXGA panel, a fingerprint sensor and built-in RJ-45 Ethernet. Office-bound coordinators can save with the 250R G10; engineers who travel and plug into equipment should pick the ProBook.
What does the Core 7 150U add over the Core 5 120U in the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14?
The Core 7 150U in the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 boosts up to 5.4 GHz, against 5.0 GHz for the Core 5 120U. Both have 10 cores, 12 threads and 12MB of cache. The higher boost makes single heavy tasks finish sooner: exporting a report, rendering a site drawing, recalculating a large spreadsheet. For light typing and email the gap is hard to notice, so choose the Core 7 when your daily work involves repeated heavy exports.
Can the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 handle dust, heat and rough roads on site visits?
The HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 has an aluminium chassis that resists flex when bounced around in a pickup or carried on a boda boda to a remote mast. The SSD has no moving parts, so vibration does not threaten your data. The keyboard is spill-resistant. In hot, dusty places like Garissa or Lodwar, keep the vents clear and avoid leaving the laptop in a closed vehicle at midday, as with any notebook.
Who should buy the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 Core 7, and who should skip it?
The HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 Core 7 suits field engineers, network technicians, logistics planners and analysts whose work is heavy on processing. Skip it if your day is email and documents; the Core 5 version at KSh 116,500 does that for less. If you juggle many apps at once, the Core 5 with 16GB at KSh 126,500 may serve you better. Anyone needing 3D gaming or GPU rendering should choose a laptop with dedicated graphics.
Can field engineers use the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 to configure routers and network gear?
Yes, the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 has a built-in RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port, so you can plug straight into a router, switch, base station or controller without an adapter. Two USB-A ports take console cables and flash drives, and two USB-C ports handle newer accessories. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 cover wireless setup. Telecom technicians working on Safaricom, Airtel Kenya or Telkom sites will find the port mix practical.
Will the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 run fleet management and ERP software?
The HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 runs browser-based fleet trackers, SAP, Odoo, Sage and QuickBooks clients, plus Google Earth and route-planning tools. The Core 7 150U keeps live maps and dashboards responsive. With 8GB of memory, run your main system plus a few support apps; dozens of heavy apps at once call for the 16GB Core 5 version at KSh 126,500. The 16:10 WUXGA screen fits more rows of shipment and dispatch tables on one view.
How long does the HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 battery last away from a socket?
The HP ProBook 4 G1iR 14 uses a 56Wh three-cell battery paired with a low-power U-series chip, built to cover a working day of office-style tasks. Heavy exports and bright screen use drain it faster, as with any laptop. During KPLC outages at a depot or site office, it keeps running so you can finish and save. Charge from the included HP adapter whenever you reach a vehicle inverter or generator point.
