HP Combination Lock is in stock now at Mascom International for KSh 3,100, brand new and sealed under HP part number T0Y15AA. The HP Combination Lock fits any laptop, monitor or docking station with an industry-standard lock slot, not just HP machines. A 1.83-metre galvanised steel cable, 4.4mm thick, anchors the device to a desk or table frame. You set your own combination, so no key ever needs tracking, and the whole lock weighs just 160 grams. Find it at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Small business owners, school bursars, cyber cafe operators and receptionists need laptop security that does not strain a tight budget. The HP Combination Lock answers that need for devices that live at one workstation most of the day. Front-desk laptops at clinics, SACCO offices and M-Pesa agent counters are easy targets when staff turn away to serve a customer. With the HP Combination Lock looped around a fixed desk leg, a quick grab simply fails. Computer labs in Kiambu, Machakos and Nakuru schools can secure every seat at a modest cost, without handing out a single key to teachers or students.
Unlike unbranded locks sold in Nairobi CBD with thin cables and fixed codes, the HP Combination Lock comes from HP's own accessory range, designed to fit HP business laptops precisely. Its galvanised steel cable resists rust, which matters in humid coastal offices and dusty upcountry classrooms alike. At KSh 3,100, the HP Combination Lock is one of the most affordable branded laptop locks at Mascom International. Offices across Kenya buy it in batches for whole departments. Order with pay-on-arrival delivery countrywide, or test it on your laptop at our store.
Common Questions About the HP Combination Lock
Does the HP Combination Lock only work with HP laptops?
No. The HP Combination Lock fits any device with an industry-standard lock slot, including many Lenovo, Acer, Asus and Dell models, plus monitors and docking stations. HP designs it around its own business laptops, so the fit on HP ProBook and EliteBook machines is especially precise. It will not fit the smaller Nano slot or the wedge-shaped slot used on some thin laptops. Send Mascom International a photo of your laptop's slot on WhatsApp if you are unsure.
How does the HP Combination Lock compare with the Kensington Slim Portable Combination Lock K60625WW?
Both locks fit the standard slot and use a resettable code, but they suit different routines. The HP Combination Lock costs KSh 1,400 less and uses a straight 1.83-metre cable that stays neatly at one desk. The Kensington Slim Portable Combination Lock K60625WW self-coils to about 76mm, which makes it far easier to carry every day. Choose HP for fixed workstations, labs and reception desks, and the Kensington for laptops that move between offices.
How do I set my own combination?
The HP Combination Lock uses a programmable mechanism, so you replace the factory code with your own number using the steps in the included documentation. Choose a code that is easy for you to recall but hard for others to guess, avoiding birthdays and repeated digits. Record it somewhere safe, such as your phone's password manager. In offices, give each workstation its own code. Mascom International staff can walk you through the first setting at our Kimathi Street counter.
How strong is the 4.4mm galvanised steel cable?
The HP Combination Lock cable is 4.4mm thick and made from galvanised steel, which resists snipping with ordinary scissors, pliers and small cutters. Galvanising also protects the steel from rust in humid rooms. No cable lock stops a determined thief with heavy bolt cutters and plenty of time. What it does stop is the quick, unplanned theft that happens when a laptop sits unattended on a reception counter or classroom desk for a few minutes.
Is the HP Combination Lock worth KSh 3,100 for a school or office?
Yes, especially at scale. Securing a 20-seat computer lab with the HP Combination Lock costs KSh 62,000, often less than replacing a single stolen laptop. Each lock also protects the coursework, payroll files or customer data stored on that machine. Because there are no keys, schools avoid the common problem of keys going missing at the end of term. Mascom International quotes volume pricing for institutions buying in bulk and delivers to campuses countrywide.
Is it suitable for cyber cafes, clinics and SACCO offices?
The HP Combination Lock suits any business where laptops stay at one desk while people come and go. In cyber cafes around Nairobi CBD, it stops customers walking out with a machine. At clinic and SACCO reception counters, it secures laptops holding patient or member records while staff attend to visitors. The 1.83-metre cable reaches most desk frames, and the galvanised finish copes with daily cleaning and dust from busy streets outside.
What comes in the HP Combination Lock box?
The HP Combination Lock box contains the lock with its attached cable and the HP documentation explaining how to set and use your combination. There are no keys, mounting plates or adapter heads to keep track of. That simplicity suits busy offices where accessories tend to go missing. If your desks lack a fixed leg or frame to loop the cable around, ask Mascom International about anchor options when ordering.
Can the HP Combination Lock protect a monitor or docking station too?
Yes. The HP Combination Lock secures any monitor, docking station or projector that carries an industry-standard lock slot, usually on the back panel or side edge. Offices often lose external monitors and docks from hot desks, because staff assume only laptops get stolen. Looping one lock through a desk frame and into a monitor slot protects a far more expensive screen for just KSh 3,100. Mascom International can confirm your monitor's slot from a quick WhatsApp photo.
Who should buy the HP Combination Lock, and who should skip it?
Buy it if your laptop has a standard slot and stays mostly at one desk, lab bench or counter. Skip it if you carry your laptop daily, because the Kensington Slim Portable Combination Lock K60625WW coils away more neatly. Skip it if your laptop has a Nano slot, where the Kensington Slim NanoSaver Portable Combination Lock K60627WW fits. Organisations with mixed slot types will find the Kensington Universal 3-in-1 Keyed Laptop Lock K62318WW more flexible.

- Locking head engages the standard slot securely, resisting twisting and sharp pulls on the cable.
- Manual operation needs no batteries, software or charging, so the lock works the same every day.
- Each workstation can carry a different code, limiting access to the person responsible for that laptop.
- Simple dial operation lets staff lock and unlock quickly between customers at busy service counters.
Slot Compatibility and Device Fit
- Fits all computer equipment with an industry-standard lock slot, including laptops from many brands besides HP.
- Designed around HP business laptops, giving a precise fit on HP ProBook, EliteBook and similar models.
- Also secures desktop monitors, docking stations and projectors that carry the standard lock slot.
- Not suited to Nano or wedge-shaped slots, so confirm the slot size and padlock icon before ordering.
- Mascom International confirms compatibility from a WhatsApp photo, preventing a mismatched order or wasted trip.
- Works in schools, offices and clinics running a mix of laptop brands with standard slots.
Cable Construction
- Cable length of 183cm, about 6 feet, reaches around most desk legs, table frames and workstation supports.
- Cable diameter of 4.4mm gives solid resistance against scissors, pliers and small hand cutters.
- Galvanised steel construction protects against rust in humid coastal offices and damp storage rooms.
- Looped cable end lets you pass the lock head through and anchor around any fixed object.
- Straight, fixed-length design stays neatly in place at permanent workstations without coiling or tangling.
- Flexible cable lies flat along desk edges, keeping computer labs and reception counters tidy.
Build Quality and Dimensions
- Total weight of 0.16kg, about 160 grams, keeps the lock light enough to move between desks when needed.
- Black finish blends with most laptops, desks and office furniture for a neat, professional look.
- Part of HP's official accessory range, built to the same standards as HP business notebook accessories.
- Sturdy lock body withstands daily locking and unlocking across years of shared office use.
