Cyan is one of three colour toners the printer blends to make every non-black shade. On its own it prints light blue. The printer may display a "Used or Counterfeit Supply" message and stop showing accurate toner levels. Refilled cartridges also carry leak risk, and loose toner can coat the transfer belt, causing streaks across every colour. Cleaning or replacing a belt costs far more than one cartridge.
