Mascom International stocks the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO at KSh 7,100, brand new and sealed, a 4MP WizColor Lite eyeball camera that records in colour around the clock. Instead of infrared, it uses built-in warm LEDs and an F1.6 lens, so night footage keeps the colours of clothing, bags and vehicles. The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO adds a microphone, PoE power and an IP67 rating for outdoor walls. It sits on the demo shelf at our shop in the Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, with a 12-month warranty included and nationwide pay-on-arrival delivery.
Built for estate managers, hotel and lodge owners, car yard operators, mini-mart owners and church administrators across Kenya, the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO watches compounds where faces and colours matter after dark. Infrared cameras record the night in grey, so a red jacket and a blue one look alike on playback. That leaves a guard in Karen or a shopkeeper in Kitengela with a clip that proves little. This camera records the scene in colour from the first frame, so you can tell police in Kasarani what the person wore and what they carried. The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO turns a vague report into a usable one.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops push whichever camera has the biggest margin, Mascom International shows you night footage from each type before you decide. Buyers throughout Kenya report that the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO gives them the colour night picture they expected from far dearer systems. It costs the same as the Dahua IPC-HDW1439V-PV, so the choice is between colour all night and a siren with talk-back. Walk in on Kimathi Street to compare both on screen, or order on WhatsApp and pay on delivery.
Common Questions About the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO
How much does the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO cost in Kenya?
The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO costs KSh 7,100 at Mascom International in Nairobi, brand new and sealed. You also get the 12-month warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. There is no power adapter or network cable in the box, so you will need a PoE recorder or switch. Next to the infrared-based Dahua IPC-HDW1439V-A-IL at KSh 6,000, you pay KSh 1,100 more for colour video through the whole night.
What is WizColor Lite on the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO?
WizColor Lite is Dahua's name for its entry-level full-colour night technology, used on the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO. The camera pairs a wide F1.6 lens with warm LED lights instead of infrared. When light levels drop, the warm LEDs glow and the sensor keeps recording in colour rather than switching to black and white. The result is night footage that shows the real colour of a gate, a car or a jacket, which helps when you hand clips to police or an insurer. It also means you do not need a separate floodlight over the gate.
Is the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO better than the Dahua IPC-HDW2449TP-S-LED-PRO?
The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO suits simple colour recording, while the Dahua IPC-HDW2449TP-S-LED-PRO adds WizSense AI for better alerts. The HDW2449TP-S-LED-PRO costs KSh 8,500 at Mascom International, which is KSh 1,400 more. That extra buys stronger human and vehicle filtering, so swaying trees and passing dogs trigger fewer false alarms. If you mainly want colour clips to review after an incident, the HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO is enough. If phone alerts matter most, step up to the WizSense model instead.
Will the warm light of the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO bother my neighbours?
The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO uses a soft warm LED, which is gentler than a bright white floodlight. Even so, the light is visible, so aim the camera at your own gate and driveway rather than across a shared wall. In tight Nairobi plots such as those in Kilimani or South B, a slight downward tilt keeps the glow within your compound. The visible light also works in your favour, because people can see the property is watched and tend to move on.
How does the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO cope with KPLC outages and lightning?
The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO keeps recording through KPLC outages when its PoE recorder or switch runs on a UPS. Because the warm LEDs stay on through the night, colour cameras draw more power after dark than infrared ones, so size the UPS with some headroom. One cable carries both power and video, which keeps backup simple: one UPS behind the recorder covers every camera on it. In the Rift Valley and western Kenya, where storms are frequent, a surge protector on the mains line protects the whole system.
Can I view the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO remotely on my phone?
Yes, the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO can be viewed live and played back through Dahua's free DMSS app on Android or iPhone. Connect it to a Dahua recorder on a home or office internet line such as Safaricom Home Fibre, Airtel or Faiba, and the app reaches it from anywhere. H.265 compression keeps streams light, which matters when you check in on mobile data from upcountry. Our team at Mascom International can link the app for you during setup and show you how to export a clip.
Can the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO handle Kenyan dust and rain outdoors?
Yes, the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO is rated IP67, so dust stays out and heavy downpours will not harm it. That makes it safe on exposed gate pillars in Kitui or Narok and under open eaves in rainy Kisii. Dust settles on the front glass over time, especially near murram roads, so wipe it during routine cleaning to keep colours accurate. At the coast, in Mombasa or Diani, a sheltered mounting spot reduces corrosion on the fixing screws.
Who is the Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO for, and who should look elsewhere?
The Dahua IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-PRO is for buyers who want true colour footage every night at KSh 7,100, without paying WizSense prices. It is a poor fit where any visible light is unwelcome, such as a bedroom window or a nursing ward, since the LEDs glow after dark. Pick the Dahua IPC-HDW1439V-A-IL there. If you want a siren and to speak to intruders, the Dahua IPC-HDW1439V-PV at the same price is the better match.
Technical Specifications
Sensor and Image
- 4MP resolution at 2560 × 1440 — sharp enough to pick out faces at a doorway or till point, and to zoom in on playback.
- Progressive scan CMOS sensor — records each frame in one pass, so moving people blur less on playback.
- Main stream at 1-25 or 1-30 frames per second — smooth video for following someone across a yard.
- 120dB wide dynamic range — evens out a bright entrance against a dim interior so both stay readable.
- Colour sensitivity of 0.008 lux at F1.6 — records colour under faint street lighting before the LEDs switch on.
Lens and Field of View
- 2.8mm fixed lens — a wide, set view that does not drift or lose focus after the installer aims it.
- F1.6 aperture — a large opening that gathers more light, the core of colour night video.
- 95° horizontal, 52° vertical and 114° diagonal view — covers a full shopfront or a two-car driveway.
- Eyeball housing on a swivel base — angle it on a wall or ceiling without an extra bracket.
- Wide coverage favours close range — place it within a few metres of the spot you need to identify.
Night Vision and Illumination
- Built-in warm LED lights — gives soft, visible light so the camera films in colour at night across a typical compound.
- WizColor Lite colour night mode — no switch to black and white, so clips keep their real colours.
- Records at 0 lux with the warm light on — works even in complete darkness during a blackout.
- No infrared illuminator — you trade discreet grey night video for colour that identifies clothing.
- Visible glow after dark — acts as a clear sign to passers-by that the compound is under watch.
Video Compression and Detection
- H.265 and H.264 compression — H.265 needs less drive space, so recordings last longer before overwriting.
- Dual-stream output — full quality to the recorder, and a lighter stream for viewing on mobile data.
- Motion detection and video tampering alerts — flags movement and warns if the lens is blocked or moved.
- Audio exception detection — alerts you to sudden loud sounds near the camera, such as breaking glass or shouting.
- Network disconnection, IP conflict and illegal access alerts — tells you when the camera drops off or is probed.
Connectivity and Power
- Built-in microphone — records conversation and sound alongside the video for fuller evidence.
- PoE 802.3af power — one network cable from the recorder or switch carries power, video and audio.
- 12V DC input also supported — an option where a separate adapter is easier to run than a new PoE cable.
- Voltage detection alert — warns you of unstable supply, useful where power quality varies.
- Works with Dahua recorders and the DMSS app — live view and playback on your phone from anywhere.
Build and Installation
- IP67 weather rating — fully dust-tight and protected against heavy, driving rain for outdoor use.
- Compact eyeball body — fits under eaves, on porch ceilings and along narrow corridors without standing out.
- White housing as standard — confirm the colour in stock on WhatsApp before you order.
- Indoor or outdoor mounting — the same camera suits a shop floor, a hotel lobby or an open gate post.
- Full ordering code DH-IPC-HDW1439T1P-A-LED-0280B-PRO — quote it when matching the camera to your recorder.
