Mascom International stocks the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery at KSh 6,000, an 11.1V, 4400mAh pack that is in stock now. It is a brand new replacement battery for the Acer 5235 and 5635, including the Extensa 5235 and 5635 series that take AS09C31 packs. The Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery clips into the rear of the laptop with the built-in latch, so swapping it takes seconds and no screwdriver. Our shop sits at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, where you can see the pack before buying.
Designed for people who still get honest work from an older 15.6-inch Acer, the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery suits sales teams, school bursars, NGO field staff and university students at Kenyatta or Moi. A worn battery turns a portable machine into a desktop chained to one socket. That hurts most when a KPLC outage cuts a long Excel session or a video call short. With a fresh Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery inside, the laptop can move from the office to a meeting room, a hostel desk or a client site in Nakuru without the charger. You keep the machine you know, with your files and software exactly where you left them.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that hand over a boxed battery and wish you luck, Mascom International checks the fit with you. Bring the laptop to the counter and we slot the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery in while you wait, or WhatsApp us the code from your old pack. At Mascom International, we're seeing more buyers choose a new battery over a new laptop when the rest of the machine still runs well. Order with pay-on-arrival delivery, or walk in and collect it the same day.
Common Questions About the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery
What is the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery price in Kenya?
The Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery sells for KSh 6,000 at Mascom International in the Nairobi CBD, as a brand new replacement pack. That price buys the battery itself with a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. It does not include a charger or fitting labour, although most owners swap it by hand in seconds. Pay-on-arrival delivery reaches every county, so you can inspect the pack before handing over any money.
Which battery codes and laptops does the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery match?
The Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery matches the AS09C31, AS09C71 and AS09C75 codes printed on the original pack's label. It fits the Acer 5235 and 5635, including the Extensa 5235, 5635, 5635G and 5635Z series. Because Acer used several battery shapes across similar model numbers, always check the code on your old battery first. Send a clear photo of that label to our WhatsApp line and Mascom International will confirm the match.
Should I buy the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery or the Acer Aspire 5720 Laptop Battery?
Buy whichever matches your laptop, because the two packs are not interchangeable. The Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery costs KSh 6,000 and follows the AS09C codes for the 5235 and 5635 bodies. The Acer Aspire 5720 Laptop Battery costs KSh 5,500 and follows the AS07B codes for the Aspire 5520, 5720 and 5920. Both run at 11.1V, yet the shape, latch position and connector differ, so a wrong pack simply will not lock in.
Can I charge this battery from solar power or a generator in rural Kenya?
Yes, the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery charges through the laptop, so it works wherever the original Acer adapter gets steady power. Many buyers in upcountry towns run laptops off solar inverters or generators. Use a pure sine wave inverter where possible, and plug in through a surge protector, because voltage spikes can damage adapters. In humid coastal towns such as Mombasa and Malindi, keep the laptop dry and store it off cold floors.
Is it worth replacing the battery on an older Acer 5235?
A new battery is worth it when the laptop still boots quickly, the screen and keyboard work, and the only problem is runtime. At KSh 6,000, the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery costs a fraction of a replacement laptop. It brings back cordless use for typing, email, M-Pesa statements and browser-based work. If the hard drive is failing or Windows crawls, put that money toward an upgrade instead.
Who should buy the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery, and who should skip it?
Buy the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery if your 5235 or 5635 runs well on the charger but switches off within minutes on battery. It suits offices keeping several older Acer units in service and students on a tight budget. Skip it if the laptop's charging port is loose or the adapter is faulty, because a new pack cannot charge through a broken circuit. Bring the laptop in and our team will help you find the real fault first.
My old battery says plugged in, not charging. Will a new pack fix that?
Usually yes, since that message most often appears when an old battery's cells have worn out. Fitting the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery clears it in most cases. If the message stays with the new pack, the problem is likely the adapter or the laptop's charging circuit. Bring the machine to our Kimathi Street shop, and we will test it with the new battery before you commit to the purchase.
What should I check when the battery is delivered?
Check that the code on the Acer Aspire 5235 Laptop Battery label matches your old pack, and that the casing has no cracks or swelling. Slide it into the laptop and confirm it locks in and shows a charge level in Windows. Our pay-on-arrival delivery means you can do all of this before paying the rider. If anything looks wrong, call +254 708 852 521 straight away and Mascom International will sort it out.
Technical Specifications
Cell and Capacity
- 11.1V rated voltage — the same supply level the Acer 5235 and 5635 draw from their original packs.
- 4400mAh capacity — the rating listed for the AS09C31 family of replacement batteries.
- About 48.8 watt-hours of stored energy — 11.1V multiplied by 4.4Ah, a useful runtime guide.
- Lithium-ion chemistry — light for its capacity and free from the memory effect older batteries had.
- Brand new cells straight from stock — no previous charge cycles, unlike pulled second-hand packs.
- Recharges inside the laptop — the original adapter tops it up whenever the machine is plugged in.
Compatibility and Model Matching
- Fits the Acer 5235 and 5635 — the two models named on our stock label for this pack.
- Covers the Extensa 5235, 5635, 5635G and 5635Z series — these share the same battery bay.
- Matches codes AS09C31, AS09C71 and AS09C75 — compare with the label on your old battery.
- Does not fit Aspire 5520, 5720 or 5920 bodies — those use the AS07B shape instead.
- WhatsApp a photo of the old label or model sticker — our team confirms the fit before dispatch.
- Walk in with the laptop — we test the pack in the bay at our Nairobi CBD counter.
Build and Safety
- Hard plastic casing in black — blends with the laptop's base once seated in the bay.
- Locks in with the laptop's own sliding latch — no screws and no need to open the chassis.
- Protection circuit inside the pack — cuts power if the cells are overcharged or shorted.
- Metal contact block — mates firmly with the laptop's connector for steady power flow.
- Shipped at a safe storage charge — give it a full charge before your first day unplugged.
- Inspect for swelling or cracks on arrival — our pay-on-arrival delivery lets you check before paying.
Charging and Everyday Care
- Charge level shows in the Windows taskbar — you always see roughly how much time remains.
- Keep it away from hot car dashboards and direct sun — heat ages lithium-ion cells fastest.
- Let the charge drop now and then if the laptop sits plugged in all week — cycling keeps cells healthy.
- Use a surge protector on unstable mains or generator power — it protects both adapter and battery.
- Store a spare pack at about half charge in a cool room — it holds up better over months.
- Run two or three full cycles after fitting — Windows then reports the remaining charge more accurately.
Inclusions
- One brand new replacement battery — the only item in the package.
