ASUS Zenbook A14 with a Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB SSD and a 14-inch WUXGA screen is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 160,000. This unit, model UX3407RA, is brand new and sealed in Iceland Gray, with Windows 11 Home already installed and activated. It weighs under 1 kg and carries a 70Wh battery, a pairing few Windows laptops at this size match. The ASUS Zenbook A14 counts as a Copilot+ PC, Microsoft's label for laptops with a dedicated AI chip. See it at our shop in Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Designed for executives, lawyers, consultants and journalists, the ASUS Zenbook A14 handles long days of email, documents, video calls and research without hunting for a socket. Many professionals in Upper Hill and Westlands spend hours between client meetings, airport lounges and coffee shops, and a heavy laptop with a weak battery slows them down. This model answers that with a Ceraluminum body, Wi-Fi 7 and a processor that sips power during office work. Field consultants flying between Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu get a machine that fits a slim bag and keeps going through a full working day.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that list Arm laptops without explaining them, Mascom International tells you up front which apps run natively and which run through emulation. That way the ASUS Zenbook A14 suits your work before you pay, not after. Buyers throughout Kenya report that battery life is the change they notice first after moving from an older Intel machine. At Mascom International, we're seeing strong interest in the ASUS Zenbook A14 from lawyers and consultants who travel often. Visit Kimathi Street to try the keyboard and screen, or order on WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery.
Common Questions About the ASUS Zenbook A14
What is the ASUS Zenbook A14 16GB 1TB price in Kenya?
The ASUS Zenbook A14 with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD costs KSh 160,000 brand new at Mascom International in Nairobi. That price includes Windows 11 Home already activated, the USB-C power adapter and a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. You can pay on arrival when we deliver, or pay at our Kimathi Street store by M-Pesa, card or cash. If you mainly need a budget office machine, the ASUS Vivobook 14 we also stock costs KSh 87,500, which is KSh 72,500 less.
Will my Windows apps run on the ASUS Zenbook A14 UX3407RA?
Most everyday Windows apps run well on the ASUS Zenbook A14 UX3407RA, including Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, Chrome, Edge and Spotify, which have native Arm versions. Programs written only for Intel and AMD chips run through Microsoft's built-in emulation layer, usually with a small speed cost. A few items may not work at all, mainly some anti-cheat games, older printer drivers and certain specialist security tools. If your office relies on a particular program, send its name to us on WhatsApp and we will check it first.
How long does the ASUS Zenbook A14 battery last on one charge?
The ASUS Zenbook A14 carries a 70Wh battery, large for a laptop that weighs under 1 kg. Paired with the efficient Snapdragon X Elite chip, it handles a full day of documents, browsing and video calls for most office users. Real hours depend on screen brightness, Wi-Fi use and how many apps stay open. During KPLC power cuts, that reserve keeps you working long after older laptops have shut down. It recharges through USB-C, so many recent phone chargers with Power Delivery can top it up in a pinch.
How does the ASUS Zenbook A14 compare with the MacBook Air?
The ASUS Zenbook A14 and the MacBook Air both target buyers who want a thin, light laptop with long battery life. The ASUS Zenbook A14 runs Windows 11, so it fits offices built around Microsoft tools and Windows-only accounting or legal software. It also adds an HDMI port and a full-size USB-A port, which the MacBook Air does without. The MacBook Air suits people already using an iPhone and Apple's apps. Choose the Zenbook A14 for Windows compatibility, and the MacBook Air for macOS and the Apple ecosystem.
Is the ASUS Zenbook A14 tough enough for Kenyan travel and weather?
Yes, the ASUS Zenbook A14 is built to the US MIL-STD 810H military testing standard for drops, vibration and temperature extremes. The Ceraluminum lid and base resist scratches better than painted aluminium, which helps on dusty Nairobi roads and in Mombasa's coastal humidity. It is not waterproof, so keep it in a padded sleeve during the rainy season. The low weight also matters on a boda boda ride across town to a client meeting, where every gram in your bag counts.
Does the ASUS Zenbook A14 work with Safaricom and Airtel Kenya internet?
Yes, the ASUS Zenbook A14 connects to any Safaricom, Airtel Kenya or Telkom home fibre router through its Wi-Fi 7 card. It also links easily to a phone hotspot or a 4G or 5G MiFi device. Wi-Fi 7 is the newest wireless standard and works fine with older Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 routers. The laptop has no SIM slot and no Ethernet port, so wired office networks need a USB-C or USB-A Ethernet adapter, which we sell in store.
What can the AI features on the ASUS Zenbook A14 actually do?
The ASUS Zenbook A14 has a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated at up to 45 TOPS, a chip dedicated to AI tasks. TOPS stands for trillions of operations per second, and 40 or more qualifies a laptop as a Copilot+ PC. In practice, this powers Windows Studio Effects, which blurs your background and keeps you centred on Teams or Zoom calls. It also runs live captions that translate speech on screen, plus Copilot features in Windows 11, without draining the battery or slowing your other apps.
Who should buy the ASUS Zenbook A14, and who should skip it?
Buy the ASUS Zenbook A14 if you are a lawyer, consultant, executive or journalist who travels often and works mainly in Office, browsers, email and video calls. Its weight and battery make it a strong travel companion. Skip it if you play modern PC games, use CAD or 3D software tied to Intel or AMD chips, or need an Ethernet port built in. Gamers need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card, while students on a tight budget will find the ASUS Vivobook 14 a better fit.
Technical Specifications
Processor

- Boost speed up to 3.4 GHz — quick response when opening large files, loading web pages or switching between programs.
- 42MB cache — fast memory on the chip itself that keeps frequently used data close, cutting waiting time.
- Arm-based design — the same chip family used in phones, which explains the low heat and long battery life.
- Qualcomm Hexagon NPU at up to 45 TOPS — a separate AI chip that handles camera effects and Copilot features efficiently.
Memory
- 16GB LPDDR5X memory — LPDDR5X is fast, low-power memory built for thin laptops with long battery life.
- Practical capacity — keeps dozens of browser tabs, Outlook, Excel and a Teams call open together without slowdown.
- Soldered on board — memory is fixed and cannot be upgraded later, so 16GB is the amount for the laptop's life.
- Shared with graphics — the Adreno graphics draw from this pool, and 16GB leaves enough for both work and display.
- Faster data transfer — high memory speed helps the processor and AI chip move data quickly during demanding tasks.
Storage
- 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD — a solid-state drive with no moving parts, starting Windows and apps in seconds.
- PCIe 4.0 interface — doubles the data lanes of the older PCIe 3.0 standard, so large files copy quickly.
- Capacity in real terms — room for over 250,000 phone photos or about 100 hours of Full HD video.
- Space after Windows — leaves well over 850GB for client files, case documents, media and offline backups.
- Silent operation — no spinning disk, so the drive makes no noise and survives bumps in a travel bag.
Display
- 14.0-inch WUXGA screen at 1920 x 1200 — clear text and sharp video across a compact screen size.
- 16:10 aspect ratio — taller than standard widescreen, showing more lines of a document or spreadsheet without scrolling.
- About 162 pixels per inch — pixel density measures sharpness; text looks crisp at normal working distance.
- 90% screen-to-body ratio — slim bezels give a larger picture inside a smaller laptop body.
- Non-touch panel — avoids fingerprints and glare from a glossy touch layer, which suits long reading sessions.
Graphics
- Qualcomm Adreno GPU built into the Snapdragon chip — handles video, presentations and light photo work without a separate card.
- Video playback — streams Netflix, Showmax and YouTube smoothly, using little battery while doing so.
- External monitors — HDMI 2.1 and the USB4 ports drive external screens for a desk setup in the office.
- Creative work — Canva, Lightroom and basic video edits run well, though large 4K projects suit a dedicated card better.
- Gaming limits — light and older games run, but many anti-cheat titles do not support Arm chips yet.
Battery
- 70Wh three-cell lithium-ion battery — Wh (watt-hours) measures stored energy, and 70Wh is large for a sub-1kg laptop.
- Efficient processor — the Arm-based chip uses little power during office tasks, stretching time between charges.
- USB-C charging — the included ASUS USB-C adapter charges through either USB4 port, so one cable powers the laptop.
- Power Delivery support — compatible USB-C power banks and chargers can top up the battery during travel.
- Built-in cell — the battery sits inside the chassis, keeping the body thin and light.
Build and Ports
- 2x USB4 Type-C at up to 40Gbps — fast file transfers, external monitors and charging through one cable each.
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1x HDMI 2.1 TMDS and 1x 3.5mm combo audio jack — flash drives, projectors and headsets.
- Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4 — the newest wireless standards for fast internet and steady earbud connections.
- FHD webcam with IR — sharper video calls, plus face sign-in through Windows Hello instead of typing a password.
- Iceland Gray Ceraluminum body under 1 kg, MIL-STD 810H tested, with a backlit gray chiclet keyboard with 1.3mm key travel.
