Mascom International stocks the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm at KSh 4,000, brand new and ready for 22-inch monitors with the taller 16:10 shape. The sheet measures 474 x 297mm and carries micro-louver film. Seated straight in front, you see a clear picture; anyone more than about 30 degrees to the left or right sees a dark screen. That gives you a viewing cone of roughly 60 degrees with two-way side privacy. The 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm has a matte anti-glare face and mounts on slim bezel tabs. Our technicians fit it free at Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for bank tellers, SACCO officers, pharmacists, insurance agents and school bursars across Kenya, the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm deals with a daily risk. Customer names, ID numbers, M-Pesa statements and loan balances sit on screens that queuing clients can read from the counter. Many offices in Nairobi, Nakuru and Eldoret still run solid older 16:10 monitors that a standard widescreen sheet does not cover properly. The 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm matches their taller picture, so the whole screen goes dark from the side while the person at the keyboard reads normally. No software installation or IT call is needed.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that stock only 16:9 sheets, Mascom International carries separate cuts for each 22-inch screen shape and checks which one you need. At Mascom International, we're seeing steady demand from offices refitting front desks after audits flagged visible client data. The 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm is also KSh 1,000 below the 16:9 version. Measure your screen or send the monitor model on WhatsApp, then visit us or order with pay-on-arrival delivery.
Common Questions About the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm
What is the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm price in Kenya?
The 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm sells for KSh 4,000, brand new, at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi. The price includes mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth, free fitting at our counter and a 6-month warranty on manufacturing defects. Pay-on-arrival delivery runs to every county. It costs KSh 1,000 less than the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter for 16:9 widescreens, and KSh 1,000 less than the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter, so pick by screen shape rather than price.
How is the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm different from the other 22-inch filter?
The 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm is cut for taller 16:10 screens, while the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter at KSh 5,000 suits wider 16:9 panels. Put on the wrong monitor, a 16:10 sheet leaves strips uncovered at the sides, and a 16:9 sheet falls short at the top and bottom. If your lit screen area measures close to 474mm wide and 297mm high, this is your filter. A screen that looks long and narrow, like a television, needs the 16:9 version instead.
How can I tell if my monitor has a 16:10 screen?
Divide your monitor's lit width by its height: about 1.6 means 16:10 and suits the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm, while about 1.78 means 16:9. You can also check the resolution in your display settings; 16:10 screens show figures such as 1680 by 1050. Many 22-inch office monitors bought before widescreen became standard use this taller shape. If you are unsure, photograph the label on the back of the monitor and send it to Mascom International on WhatsApp.
Is the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm useful in Kenyan banking halls and M-Pesa shops?
Yes, the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm suits any Kenyan counter where customers stand beside the operator's screen. Bank tellers, M-Pesa agents, SACCO cashiers and Huduma-style service desks handle ID numbers, balances and phone numbers all day. From the side, the filter turns the display dark, so the next customer in the queue cannot read the previous one's details. The matte face also reduces glare from the bright entrance doors common in ground-floor banking halls in Mombasa and Kisumu.
Can I fit the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm myself?
Yes, the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm fits by hand in a few minutes with the supplied mounting tabs. Clean the screen with the cloth, attach the slim tabs along the bezel edges, then slide the sheet into place with the matte face toward you. No glue touches the panel. If you would rather not do it yourself, Mascom International technicians fit it free at our Kimathi Street counter, and many Nairobi offices simply drop the monitor in on their way to work.
Does the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm block people standing behind me?
No, the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm blocks side views only, not someone directly behind your chair. Its micro-louver film darkens the screen once a viewer is more than about 30 degrees left or right of centre. A person straight behind you shares your line of sight, so arrange the desk so your back faces a wall or partition. For most counters and open-plan rows, the side angles are where prying eyes actually stand.
Is the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm worth it for a small office?
For KSh 4,000, the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm is a low-cost way to keep payroll, client files and passwords off view in a shared room. Small accounting firms in Kilimani, clinics and school offices often have one or two sensitive desks rather than a full floor. Fitting just those screens costs far less than rearranging furniture or building partitions. Customers across Nairobi tell us they start with the finance desk and add more filters once staff see the result.
Who should buy the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm and who should skip it?
Buy the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm if you run a 22-inch 16:10 monitor at a counter, reception or open-plan desk. Skip it if your 22-inch screen is a 16:9 widescreen; the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter at KSh 5,000 fits that properly. Skip it too if you design or edit photos all day, since any privacy film dims the image a little. Larger 16:10 monitors need a bigger sheet, such as the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm at KSh 6,000.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Viewing Behaviour
- Micro-louver privacy film — microscopic slats inside the sheet pass light forward to the user and stop it travelling sideways to onlookers.
- Clear zone of about 60 degrees — everything inside roughly 30 degrees either side of centre stays readable for the person at the desk.
- Side blackout — viewers further round to the left or right see a darkened, unreadable screen instead of names and figures.
- Matte anti-glare surface — softens reflections from glass doors, open windows and overhead lighting in busy service halls and offices.
- Minor brightness drop — the film absorbs a little light, which a small brightness increase on the monitor usually makes up for.
- Lift-off use — slide the sheet out when a supervisor or client needs to look at the screen together with you.
Compatibility and Fit
- Sheet size 474 x 297mm — matches the lit picture area of 22-inch monitors built in the taller 16:10 proportion.
- 16:10 shape — about 1.6 times wider than tall, giving more vertical room than a standard widescreen of the same diagonal.
- Not for 22-inch 16:9 monitors — those wider, shorter panels take the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter at KSh 5,000.
- Not for 21.5-inch widescreens — those take the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter, also cut for the 16:9 shape.
- Brand-neutral — sits on the front of any monitor of the right size, with no drivers, apps or settings to change.
- Size check offered — send your width and height measurements or the monitor's rear label to Mascom International before buying.
Build and Mounting
- Bezel-tab mounting — slim tabs fixed to the monitor frame hold the sheet, keeping adhesive completely off the display surface.
- Black finish — the colour matches the frames on most office monitors, so the filter does not stand out at a counter.
- Thin, light sheet — adds almost nothing to the depth of the monitor, so wall arms and stands still work normally.
- Clean removal — the sheet comes away without leaving residue or marks on the monitor's own coating.
- Protective layer — the filter catches fingerprints, dust and light knocks that would otherwise land on the monitor panel.
- Easy care — a gentle wipe with the supplied cloth keeps the matte face clear; avoid spirit cleaners and rough tissue.
