oraimo OTag Item Locator is now available at Mascom International for KSh 2,200, carrying an IP65 waterproof rating, direct iPhone compatibility, a built-in buzzer, and a replaceable CR2032 coin cell rated for 8 to 12 months of use. The oraimo OTag measures 31.8 by 31.8 by 8.6 millimetres, so it disappears into a keyring, a wallet fold, or a laptop bag pocket. Mascom International stocks the oraimo OTag at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. Our doors open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The oraimo OTag charges no monthly fee and needs no subscription.

Losing keys costs Kenyans real money. A lost house key means a locksmith call-out and a lock change, often KSh 3,000 to KSh 8,000. A car key replacement with immobiliser coding runs far higher. The oraimo OTag is built for people who move all day: sales representatives crossing Nairobi between client meetings, university students shuttling between campus and hostel, field engineers working upcountry sites, journalists carrying camera bags through crowds, and parents managing school runs. Drop one into a laptop bag, a handbag, a gym bag, or a suitcase. When something goes missing, your iPhone points you back to it instead of leaving you guessing.

At Mascom International, we're seeing item trackers move from novelty to routine purchase across Nairobi. The reason is price. An Apple AirTag typically sells in Kenya between KSh 5,500 and KSh 8,000, while the oraimo OTag lands at KSh 2,200 and uses the same broad principle: your iPhone finds it. Users consistently report that the buzzer matters more than any specification, because most losses happen inside the house, the office, or the car. Walk into our Kimathi Street store to handle the oraimo OTag before you buy, or order for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.

Questions Kenyan Buyers Ask About the oraimo OTag Item Locator

How does the oraimo OTag actually find a lost item?
Two ways, and they work together. Within Bluetooth range, roughly 10 to 60 metres depending on walls and obstructions, your iPhone triggers the built-in buzzer so you can follow the sound to the sofa cushion, the coat pocket, or the car footwell. Beyond Bluetooth range, the tracker relies on Apple's crowdsourced Find My network: other passing iPhones detect it anonymously and report its position back to you on a map. Neither method uses your data bundle in any meaningful volume.

Does the oraimo OTag work with my iPhone without downloading a separate app?
Yes. oraimo builds the OSH-007A model for direct iOS compatibility, so it registers inside the Find My app already installed on your iPhone rather than a third-party oraimo app. Setup takes under a minute: bring the tracker close to your unlocked iPhone, tap Connect when the card appears, name it, and it joins your Items list.

Is the oraimo OTag worth KSh 2,200 against an Apple AirTag?
For most Kenyan buyers, yes. The AirTag adds Ultra Wideband precision finding, which draws an on-screen arrow guiding you to within centimetres, and it costs roughly two to three times more here. The oraimo OTagskips Ultra Wideband and gives you the two things that recover items most often: a loud buzzer and a map location. If you want three trackers on three bags for the price of one AirTag, the maths favours oraimo.

How long does the oraimo OTag battery actually last?
oraimo rates the CR2032 cell at 8 to 12 months of normal use. That figure assumes typical Bluetooth pinging rather than constant buzzer activation, so heavy users land nearer 8 months and a tracker sitting quietly in a suitcase reaches 12. Replacement CR2032 cells cost between KSh 100 and KSh 250 at watch counters, supermarkets, and electronics shops across Nairobi CBD. Swapping one takes seconds and needs no tools. Your iPhone warns you inside Find My when charge runs low.

Will the oraimo OTag survive Nairobi rain and dust?
The IP65 rating handles both. The 6 means complete dust protection, which matters on Ngong Road in dry season and on any upcountry murram road. The 5 means protection against low-pressure water jets from any direction  rain, splashes, a wet bag, a spilled bottle. What IP65 does not cover is submersion. Do not take the oraimo OTag swimming or drop it in a bucket. The ABS shell shrugs off the knocks a keyring collects daily.

What can I attach the oraimo OTag to?
Almost anything you carry. The pack includes a strap that loops through a keyring, a zip pull, a backpack tab, or a pet collar. Owners commonly place one in a laptop bag pocket, inside a handbag lining, under a car seat, in a checked suitcase before flying through JKIA, in a toolbox, or in a school bag. At 8.6 millimetres thick it fits a wallet card slot too, though the buzzer sounds quieter through leather.

Can somebody use an oraimo OTag to follow me without my knowledge?
iPhone protects you here automatically. iOS runs unwanted tracking detection that alerts you when an unfamiliar Find My accessory travels with you over time, then lets you play a sound on it to locate it. Location data on the Find My network travels fully encrypted from the detecting device onward, so neither oraimo nor Apple can read where your tracker has been. Only your Apple Account sees the map. This protection works whether the tracker is an oraimo OTag or any other brand.

Does the oraimo OTag at KSh 2,200 work on Android phones?
No, and this matters before you buy. Mascom International stocks two separate oraimo trackers. The OSH-007A sold here is built for iPhone and iPad and registers in Apple's Find My. The OSH-006A is the Android version, which works through Google's Find Hub network and needs Android 9 or newer. The two are not interchangeable. Tell us which phone you carry when you order and we will send the matching model.

What happens if my bag is stolen  will the oraimo OTag get it back?
Be realistic about this. The oraimo OTag shows a last known location and rings a buzzer. It does not carry GPS or a SIM, so it cannot report a live position on its own, and it stops updating once no iPhone passes near it. Treat it as a recovery aid for misplaced items, not an anti-theft device. If a theft occurs, report to the police and share the location history with them rather than following it yourself.

Technical Specifications

Location Tracking and Finding Capability
  • Built-in buzzer rings on command from your iPhone, the fastest way to recover items lost inside a room.
  • Bluetooth proximity finding covers roughly 10 to 60 metres, narrowing depending on walls, bodies, and metal.
  • Apple Find My network reports a map position when passing iPhones detect the tracker beyond your own range.
  • Last known location stays visible in Find My even after the tracker leaves Bluetooth contact with your phone.
  • No Ultra Wideband precision arrow — recovery works by sound and map rather than centimetre-level direction.
  • No GPS chip and no SIM slot, meaning zero airtime cost and zero monthly charges for the life of the unit.
Apple Ecosystem Compatibility and Setup
  • Model OSH-007A is the iOS variant; oraimo sells the OSH-006A separately for Android and Google Find Hub.
  • Registers directly to your Apple Account, appearing under the Items tab of the Find My app.
  • Setup runs through the standard iOS pairing card, so no oraimo account creation or app download is required.
  • Works across iPhone, iPad, and Mac signed into the same Apple Account, letting family members share access.
  • Unwanted tracking alerts, Lost Mode, and encrypted location handling come from iOS itself, not oraimo firmware.
  • Requires a current iOS release for Find My accessory support; older iPhones on outdated software may not pair.
Battery Life and Replacement
  • CR2032 coin cell rated 220mAh at 3.0 volts, the same battery type used in car remotes and watches.
  • Manufacturer rates 8 to 12 months of use, with frequent buzzer use pulling the figure toward the lower end.
  • Replacement cells sell for KSh 100 to KSh 250 across Nairobi CBD supermarkets, watch counters, and electronics shops.
  • Battery swaps need no tools and no service visit, unlike sealed trackers that must be thrown away.
  • Find My displays a low battery warning on your iPhone before the tracker goes silent completely.
  • Removable battery design keeps long-term running cost near KSh 250 per year per tracker.
Build Quality and Daily Durability
  • IP65 rating certifies complete dust sealing plus protection from low-pressure water jets at any angle.
  • Rain, splashes, damp bags, and dusty upcountry roads pose no risk to the sealed housing.
  • Submersion is outside the rating — keep the tracker out of pools, buckets, and washing machines.
  • ABS plastic shell resists the scratching and knocking a keyring collects during daily matatu and boda commutes.
  • Dimensions of 31.8 by 31.8 by 8.6 millimetres fit a keyring, a wallet slot, or a bag pocket.
  • Light enough that clipping one to house keys changes nothing about how the bunch sits in your pocket.
Attachment Options and Everyday Placement
  • Included portable strap threads through keyrings, zip pulls, backpack loops, luggage handles, and pet collars.
  • Laptop bags and camera bags take one in an inner pocket where a thief is unlikely to check first.
  • Checked suitcases benefit most, giving you a map reference when luggage misses a connection through JKIA.
  • Car placement under a seat or in the glovebox helps in crowded Nairobi parking where rows look identical.
  • Wallets accept the 8.6-millimetre body in a card slot, though leather muffles the buzzer noticeably.
  • School bags, gym bags, and toolboxes all suit a tracker that costs less than replacing what they hold.
Privacy and Data Protection
  • Location data on the Find My network stays encrypted from the detecting iPhone through to your account.
  • oraimo cannot see where your tracker has been, and neither can Apple — only your Apple Account does.
  • Detecting iPhones relay position anonymously, revealing nothing about their owners to you or anyone else.
  • iOS unwanted tracking alerts warn any iPhone user when an unknown accessory follows them over time.
  • No oraimo cloud account, no email registration, and no personal details are required to activate the tracker.
  • Lost Mode lets a finder tap their phone against the tracker to reach your chosen contact detail.
