Mascom International stocks the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim at KSh 17,000, brand new and sealed. This is Samsung's thin keyboard case, model EF-DX730, for the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 5G. It weighs 284 g, measures 13.6 mm thick and carries a dedicated AI key, but it has no touchpad. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim connects through Samsung's POGO pins, so it works the moment it touches the tablet. Find it at our Old Mutual Building shop on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Designed for university students, sales teams and NGO field staff, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim handles quick, everyday typing. Many buyers want a keyboard for lecture notes, WhatsApp replies and short reports, yet hate carrying extra weight. A full laptop-style case can feel heavy in a backpack on a boda boda ride across town. This Slim version keeps the load down while still giving you real keys, a Caps Lock light and one-tap access to Gemini or Bixby through the AI key.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell generic Bluetooth covers that need charging and drop their connection, Mascom International carries the genuine Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim. Students from Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi tell us the low weight is what sold them. Choose it if you tap the screen happily and only need keys for typing. It costs KSh 8,000 less than the touchpad version, which leaves room in the budget for a charger. Visit our Kimathi Street shop to feel the weight in your hand, or WhatsApp us to have the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim delivered and paid for on arrival.
Common Questions About the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim
What is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim price in Kenya?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim costs KSh 17,000 brand new and sealed at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That covers a 6-month warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya. The tablet is not included. If you want a touchpad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard costs KSh 25,000, so the Slim saves you KSh 8,000. That saving often covers a good screen protector and a charger.
What is the difference between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim and the version with a touchpad?
The main difference is the touchpad: the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim has none, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard includes one. The Slim is thinner and lighter, at 13.6 mm and 284 g, and costs KSh 8,000 less. Pick the Slim for notes, messages and short documents. Pick the touchpad version if you edit long reports or spreadsheets and want laptop-style cursor control without touching the screen.
What does the AI key on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim do?
The AI key opens an AI assistant on your Tab S11 with one press. Pressing Alt with the AI key lets you switch between Bixby and Gemini. You can ask it to summarise a long email, draft a reply or explain a topic while you type. It needs an internet connection and a Samsung or Google account, so it works over home Wi-Fi or your Safaricom, Airtel Kenya or Telkom data bundle. Offline, every other key still types normally.
How much weight does the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim add to a Tab S11?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim weighs 284 g, about the same as a large smartphone. Its outer size is 167.4 by 254.4 mm, and it is 13.6 mm deep, so the tablet still slides into a slim sleeve or a small handbag. That low weight matters if you walk between buildings at JKUAT or ride a matatu to work every day. You get keys and screen cover without lugging a laptop.
Can I charge my tablet and use the S Pen with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim attached?
Yes, Samsung says you can charge the Tab S11 and use the S Pen with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim on. You never need to remove the case to plug in during a KPLC outage recovery or to sketch a quick diagram. The keyboard itself has no battery, so there is nothing extra to charge. It draws its small power needs directly from the tablet through the POGO pins. A power bank in your bag keeps both going on a long day away from a socket.
Does the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim turn the screen off when closed?
Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim supports Auto Screen On/Off. Close the cover and the Tab S11 screen switches off; open it and the screen wakes up. This saves battery through the day and keeps the display from lighting up inside your bag. Magnets hold the tablet steady while you type, so it does not wobble on a desk or a lap. The closed cover also keeps dust off the keys and screen on dry, windy days in Nairobi.
Who should buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim, and who should skip it?
Buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim if you want light, real keys for notes, emails and chats on a Tab S11 or Tab S11 5G. Students and field staff who carry the tablet all day suit it best. Skip it if you edit long documents or work in spreadsheets for hours; the touchpad version at KSh 25,000 fits that better. Owners of the larger Tab S11 Ultra need an Ultra keyboard instead. Artists who mostly draw with the S Pen may prefer a plain cover.
Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim good for university students in Kenya?
Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim suits most university students. It turns a Tab S11 into a light note-taking machine for lectures, group work and assignments, at KSh 17,000. Typing on keys is much faster than on glass, and the AI key helps summarise reading. Students at Strathmore, Moi and USIU can type in Google Docs, submit work on a learning portal, then switch to the S Pen for diagrams.
Technical Specifications
Core Function: Keyboard and AI Key
- Full keyboard built into the cover, no touchpad — real keys for notes and messages, with screen taps for pointing.
- Dedicated AI key — one press opens an AI assistant to summarise, draft or answer questions while you work.
- Alt plus AI key switches between Bixby and Gemini — use whichever assistant you prefer.
- Caps Lock LED indicator — a small light shows when capitals are on, so you avoid shouting in emails.
- Samsung DeX support — opens a desktop-style view with movable windows for multitasking.
- Works as soon as it is attached — no pairing, no codes and no Bluetooth menu.
- Standard shortcuts for copy, paste and switching apps — move text between documents in a couple of key presses.
Compatibility
- Fits the Galaxy Tab S11 Wi-Fi model — cut for the 11-inch tablet's camera, buttons and edges.
- Fits the Galaxy Tab S11 5G model — same body, same fit, same connector position.
- POGO pin connection — a direct physical link that draws power from the tablet, so there is no battery inside.
- Not for the Tab S11 Ultra — that 14.6-inch tablet needs its own wider Ultra keyboard.
- S Pen use with the cover on — sketch, sign or annotate without removing the case.
- Charging with the cover on — plug in your tablet without pulling anything apart.
- Accepts input in any Android app — Word, Google Docs, Zoom chat and banking apps all take typing from these keys.
Build and Size
- Dimensions 167.4 by 254.4 by 13.6 mm — slim enough to slip into a document sleeve.
- Weight 284 g — about one large smartphone, so your bag stays light on long commutes.
- Black exterior with a soft grey interior — looks business-like and hides everyday marks.
- Metal accent around the camera cutout — a neat finish that matches the tablet's own styling.
- Magnetic hold — keeps the tablet steady while you type and lifts off when you just want the slate.
- Auto Screen On/Off — closing the cover sleeps the screen, saving battery through a long day.
- Front flap covers the display — keeps scratches and dust off the glass inside a crowded bag.
