NBA 2K27 is now available at Mascom International for KSh 7,400, a brand new and sealed Standard Edition disc for PlayStation 5 with Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs on the cover. 2K released NBA 2K27 worldwide on September 4, 2026, so this is the current season of the series, with this year's rosters and this year's online community. The disc holds the full game, including The City, MyCAREER, MyTEAM and MyNBA. Collect NBA 2K27 from our store at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order it for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.

NBA 2K27 is made for players who compete online most nights, from Crew members running games at The REC to MyTEAM collectors chasing Season 1 cards. Each September the player base moves to the new release, and last year's game slowly loses the busy lobbies that made it fun. Buying NBA 2K27 puts you back where your friends and rivals now play. It also suits PlayStation lounge owners in Rongai and Kasarani whose customers ask for the newest 2K by name. Office workers who play after 9 PM get the same rebuilt shooting, new Dunk Meter and fresh season rewards as everyone else.

Unlike traditional electronics retailers in Kenya, Mascom International sells NBA 2K27 from a walk-in store with a real address, and every disc comes sealed with its own Mascom warranty. You can pay by M-Pesa at the counter, or pay the rider on delivery after checking the wrap is intact. Buyers throughout Kenya tell us they would rather pay local shelf price than wait weeks for an overseas parcel and its import charges. Visit Kimathi Street to see the case before you buy, or send a WhatsApp message and NBA 2K27 can reach a Nairobi address the same day.

Common Questions About the NBA 2K27

How much is NBA 2K27 for PS5 in Kenya?

NBA 2K27 Standard Edition for PS5 costs KSh 7,400 at Mascom International in Nairobi, brand new and sealed. That price covers the physical disc, the 6-month Mascom disc warranty described below, and pay-on-arrival delivery to any Kenyan county. There are no in-box extras such as bonus VC at this tier. If KSh 7,400 is more than you want to spend, NBA 2K26 sits on our shelf at KSh 4,800, which is KSh 2,600 less, and it still runs online modes today.

NBA 2K27 vs NBA 2K26, which one should I buy?

Choose NBA 2K27 if you play online every week, and NBA 2K26 if price matters more than the newest season. NBA 2K27 launched on September 4, 2026, while NBA 2K26 arrived in September 2025. The price gap at Mascom International is KSh 7,400 against KSh 4,800. NBA 2K27 adds the new Dunk Meter, customizable dribble combos and a rebuilt Takeover system. Over the coming year, most new MyTEAM content and Season rewards will land in NBA 2K27, not in last year's game.

What is new in NBA 2K27 gameplay?

NBA 2K27 reworks shooting, dunking, dribbling and defense rather than adding cosmetic changes. A new Dunk Meter opens a green window that shrinks or grows with closeouts and open lanes. Rhythm Shooting syncs the shot meter to your joystick movement in real time. Dribble moves can now be combined freely instead of coming in fixed packages. Takeover now tracks five categories, Shooting, Finishing, Playmaking, Defense and Rebounding, across six heat levels from Frozen to Takeover, with more than 24 abilities to unlock.

What does the Standard Edition include compared with Deluxe and Ultra?

The NBA 2K27 Standard Edition is the base game with every mode, but no bonus VC or season passes. 2K priced it at $69.99 in the United States, against $99.99 for Deluxe and $149.99 for Ultra. Deluxe adds 100,000 VC plus MyCAREER and MyTEAM boosts, while Ultra stacks a further 35,000 VC and Pro Passes on top. Those extras are digital and can be bought later inside the game, so starting with the Standard disc keeps your options open.

Will NBA 2K27 play on every PS5 model, or on a PS4?

NBA 2K27 on this disc plays on any PS5 that can read discs, but never on a PS4. The original PS5 and the PS5 Slim with disc drive read it straight away. The PS5 Digital Edition, PS5 Slim Digital and PS5 Pro have no built-in drive, so they need Sony's add-on Disc Drive where that model supports it. PS4 owners should know that 2K released NBA 2K27 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC only.

Do I need internet or PlayStation Plus to play NBA 2K27 in Kenya?

NBA 2K27 installs from the disc, but you need internet for updates and a PlayStation Plus membership for online multiplayer. Quick Play Now games and MyNBA franchise seasons run offline, which helps during evening power cuts or when a data bundle runs out. The City, The REC and online MyTEAM matches need a live connection. A steady home line from Safaricom Home Fibre, Zuku or Faiba handles patch downloads far better than mobile data, so plan the first update for a night when you are home.

Can two people play NBA 2K27 on one PS5?

Yes, NBA 2K27 supports local head-to-head games on one PS5 when a second DualSense controller is connected. That makes it a good pick for brothers sharing one console, a group of friends on a Saturday, or a lounge charging per match. Each player picks a team in Play Now and plays on the same screen. Mascom International stocks PS5 DualSense controllers, so you can collect the game and a second controller in one visit to Kimathi Street.

Who should buy NBA 2K27, and who should skip it?

Buy NBA 2K27 if you play The City, The REC or MyTEAM online and want to be where the 2026 player base is. Skip it if you mostly play offline MyNBA seasons or quick games against a friend, because you would be paying extra for online content you will not use. Those players get better value from NBA 2K25 All-Star Edition at KSh 4,000 or NBA 2K26 at KSh 4,800, both on our shelf in Nairobi CBD.

Technical Specifications

Game Modes and Core Function

The City returns as the shared online hub where MyPLAYERs form Crews and play at The REC and Park courts.
MyCAREER follows a story path for your created MyPLAYER, from a new pro towards the greatest of all time.
MyTEAM lets you collect NBA and WNBA stars into card-based squads for single-player and online multiplayer games.
MyNBA puts you in charge of a franchise, handling trades, drafts and seasons, and runs without an internet connection.
Play Now loads a quick exhibition between any two teams, so a friend can drop in for one game.
WNBA stars appear alongside NBA players in MyTEAM, widening the pool of cards you can build a lineup around.

Gameplay Changes This Season

Powered by ProPLAY, which turns real NBA footage into on-court animations, so player movement copies real broadcasts.
The new Dunk Meter sets a timing window that changes with closeouts, open lanes and defender positioning.
Rhythm Shooting links the shot meter to your joystick input in real time, which rewards a steady release.
Customizable dribbling lets you chain individual moves freely, replacing the old fixed dribble style packages.
A new step-through up-and-under move is tied to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards and Luka Dončić.• A dynamic layup engine shapes each finish at the rim around that player's own style and ratings.
Hands-up defense comes in aggressive and conservative versions, and a reworked steal range cuts unrealistic pickpockets.

Takeover, Defense and Progression

Takeover now updates separately in five categories: Shooting, Finishing, Playmaking, Defense and Rebounding.
Six heat levels run from Frozen through Cold, Neutral, Warm and Hot to full Takeover, shown during play.
More than 24 Takeover abilities are available, so two builds with similar ratings can still play differently.
Maxing out a category activates its Takeover automatically on a timer, so you never miss the window mid-play.
Season 1 rewards start fresh for every player, so buying now puts you level with the online field.
AI defenders contest shots better and hold position longer, so offline games against the console feel harder.
A new collision system rewards disciplined body positioning on defense instead of constant reaching for steals.

PS5 Compatibility and Requirements

Platform: PlayStation 5 only, as a Blu-ray disc that will not load on any PS4 console.
Plays directly on the original PS5 and on the PS5 Slim model that ships with a disc drive.
PS5 Digital Edition, PS5 Slim Digital and PS5 Pro owners need Sony's add-on Disc Drive to use this copy.
The game installs to the console's SSD, and the disc stays in the drive as your licence to play.
Online multiplayer needs an active PlayStation Plus membership on your PlayStation Network account.
Uses the PS5 DualSense controller, and a second DualSense lets two people play on the same screen.

Package Contents

Inside sits one Blu-ray game disc holding the full NBA 2K27 install for PS5. Printed inserts vary by production batch. Bonus VC, controllers and PlayStation Plus time are not part of the Standard Edition box, so add a second DualSense at the counter if you plan to play head to head.

Warranty

Mascom International covers the NBA 2K27 disc for 6 months against manufacturing defects. If the disc refuses to read or install on a PS5 that plays other games normally, bring it to our Nairobi CBD service desk for assessment.
