NBA 2K22 | PS5 Physical Disc | NBA 75th Anniversary Edition | Abdul-Jabbar Durant and Nowitzki Cover
A keepsake for followers of league history, sold only in boxed form since digital stores withdrew it in January 2024.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International has NBA 2K22 NBA 75th Anniversary Edition in stock for KSh 4,300, a brand new and sealed PS5 disc. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kevin Durant and Dirk Nowitzki share the cover, marking the league's 75th season in 2021. 2K released NBA 2K22 in September 2021, then switched off its online servers on January 1, 2024, and pulled it from digital sale. That makes a sealed disc of NBA 2K22 the only way to own it new today. You can see the case at our store, Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
NBA 2K22 is for collectors and long-time fans who care about the cover and the anniversary, and for casual players who only want quick offline games. Many fans who grew up watching Kareem's skyhook or Dirk's one-legged fadeaway want a copy that honours them, and this edition puts all three legends on one case. NBA 2K22 also suits barbershops and salons in Eastleigh or Kawangware that keep a PS5 for waiting customers, since Play Now runs with no account and no internet. Anyone who needs online play, though, should read the server answers below before buying.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops would stay quiet about an older game's limits, Mascom International tells you plainly what still works in NBA 2K22 and what does not. We sell it sealed, at a counter you can walk into, with a 6-month disc warranty and a receipt. Collectors across Kenya tell us anniversary covers become harder to find each year, especially unopened. Pay by M-Pesa in store, or order NBA 2K22 on WhatsApp and pay when it reaches you. If you are unsure whether it fits your needs, our team will point you to the right NBA title instead.
Common Questions About the NBA 2K22
How much is NBA 2K22 75th Anniversary Edition for PS5 in Kenya?
NBA 2K22 NBA 75th Anniversary Edition for PS5 costs KSh 4,300 at Mascom International, Nairobi CBD, sealed and unopened. The price includes our 6-month disc warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery countrywide. Against the rest of this group, it costs KSh 300 more than NBA 2K25 at KSh 4,000, KSh 500 less than NBA 2K26 at KSh 4,800, and KSh 3,100 less than NBA 2K27 at KSh 7,400. The extra KSh 300 over NBA 2K25 reflects the anniversary cover, not extra features.
Are the NBA 2K22 online servers still working?
No, 2K shut down the NBA 2K22 online servers permanently on January 1, 2024, so no online mode works today. That closure ended multiplayer, online leagues, MyCAREER, MyTEAM and community sharing. You also cannot earn or spend VC in NBA 2K22 anymore. 2K removed the game from digital sale on the same date, which is why only physical copies remain. If online play matters to you, NBA 2K25 at KSh 4,000 or NBA 2K26 at KSh 4,800 are the sensible choices.
Can I play NBA 2K22 without internet in Kenya?
Yes, NBA 2K22 still runs offline, and Play Now, MyNBA, The W and MyWNBA all remain playable without 2K's servers. That means no data bundle, no PlayStation Plus and no worry when Safaricom or Airtel coverage drops in your area. Play Now handles quick games, two players on one console with a second DualSense. MyNBA lets you run an NBA franchise across many seasons. The W and MyWNBA cover the women's game, both as a player career and as a franchise.
NBA 2K22 vs NBA 2K25, which should I choose?
Most buyers should choose NBA 2K25, which costs KSh 4,000 against KSh 4,300 for NBA 2K22 and still has working online modes. NBA 2K25 arrived in September 2024, three years after NBA 2K22 launched in September 2021, so its rosters and animation are newer. NBA 2K25 also adds MyNBA Eras with six historical starting points. Pick NBA 2K22 only if you want the 75th anniversary cover with Abdul-Jabbar, Durant and Nowitzki, or a sealed copy for a collection.
What happened to the 75th Anniversary Edition bonus items?
The NBA 2K22 75th Anniversary Edition bonuses no longer work, because they all depended on servers that closed in January 2024. 2K listed 100,000 VC, 10,000 MyTEAM Points, Sapphire cards of all three cover stars and 22 MyTEAM promo packs. MyCAREER boosts and cosmetics such as cover athlete T-shirts and a backpack were also included. Buy this edition for the case, the disc and the offline game, and expect nothing from the bonus list.
Why would anyone buy NBA 2K22 in 2026?
NBA 2K22 makes sense in 2026 for three groups: collectors, fans of the 2021 anniversary rosters, and people who only play offline. The edition celebrates the NBA's 75th season and shows three Hall of Fame level careers on one cover. Since it left digital stores, a sealed disc is the only way to add it new. Offline buyers who see no difference between seasons can also enjoy hundreds of Play Now games without any subscription.
Will NBA 2K22 run on a PS5 Pro, PS5 Slim or PS4?
This NBA 2K22 disc is the PS5 version, so it runs on any PS5 with a disc drive and will not run on a PS4. The original PS5 and the PS5 Slim with disc drive accept it directly. The PS5 Pro and Digital Edition consoles need Sony's add-on Disc Drive attached. Install it from the disc, then keep the disc in the drive whenever you play. A PS4 owner needs a different copy built for that console.
Who should buy NBA 2K22, and who should skip it?
Buy NBA 2K22 if you collect special editions from this series, want the 75th anniversary cover, or play only quick offline games and MyNBA seasons. Skip it if you want MyCAREER, MyTEAM, The City or any online play, because those modes no longer work. Online players should take NBA 2K27 at KSh 7,400 for the current season or NBA 2K26 at KSh 4,800 for a cheaper live option. Offline buyers on a budget save KSh 300 with NBA 2K25.
Technical Specifications
Modes That Still Work
- Play Now runs quick exhibition games between NBA teams, including two-player matches on one PS5.
- MyNBA lets you run a franchise offline, handling trades, the draft and contracts across many seasons.
- The W offers a WNBA player career offline, so fans of the women's game still have a story mode.
- MyWNBA puts you in charge of a WNBA franchise, with roster building and season simulation.
- None of these modes needs PlayStation Plus, a 2K account login or a data bundle to start.
- Offline saves stay on the PS5 itself, so MyNBA progress remains even though 2K's servers are gone.
- Difficulty settings let a beginner start at Rookie and a seasoned player move up towards Hall of Fame.
Online Services Status
- Online servers for NBA 2K22 closed permanently on January 1, 2024, according to 2K's discontinuation notice.
- Multiplayer and online leagues stopped working on that date, ending ranked and private online games.
- MyCAREER and MyTEAM depended on 2K's servers, so neither mode can be played today.
- VC can no longer be earned or spent, which disables every currency-based purchase inside the game.
- The game left digital stores on the same date, so new copies exist only as physical discs.
- No online patch or roster update should be expected, so the 2021 to 2022 rosters stay as shipped.
75th Anniversary Edition Details
- Cover: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kevin Durant and Dirk Nowitzki, honouring the NBA's 75th season.
- Launch price: $99.99 in the United States, against $69.99 for the PS5 Standard Edition.
- Listed bonuses included 100,000 VC and 10,000 MyTEAM Points, now unusable after the server closure.
- Sapphire MyTEAM cards of all three cover athletes were included, and are also now unavailable.
- Cosmetic MyCAREER items included four cover athlete T-shirts, a backpack, an arm sleeve and a skateboard.
- The game content itself matches the Standard Edition, so the cover is the lasting difference.
Console and Disc Requirements
- Platform: PlayStation 5 Blu-ray disc, unreadable on any PS4 because PS4 drives cannot run PS5 games.
- Works straight away on the original PS5 and the PS5 Slim model fitted with a disc drive.
- PS5 Pro and Digital Edition consoles need Sony's add-on Disc Drive to install and play this copy.
- The game installs from the disc to internal storage, and the disc must stay inserted during play.
- One DualSense controller is enough for solo play, and a second one opens local head-to-head games.
- PS5 discs are generally region-free, so a console brought home from abroad reads this Nairobi copy.
- Keep the disc in its case between sessions, since scratches and cracks fall outside the disc warranty.
Release and Cover History
- NBA 2K22 released in September 2021, developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K.
- The Standard Edition cover showed Luka Dončić, then of the Dallas Mavericks.
- A WNBA 25th Anniversary Edition featured Candace Parker, the first WNBA player on a cover in this series.
- Next-gen Standard Edition pricing started at $69.99, while PS4 and Xbox One copies launched at $59.99.
- The 75th Anniversary Edition sold at the same $99.99 price on every platform it launched on.
- Rosters reflect the 2021 to 2022 NBA season, including Durant's Brooklyn Nets era.
Package Contents
NBA 2K22 comes as one sealed PS5 retail case printed with the 75th Anniversary Edition cover of Abdul-Jabbar, Durant and Nowitzki. Inside is a single Blu-ray disc with the PS5 game. Any voucher printed for the launch bonuses can no longer be redeemed. No controller or PlayStation Plus time is included, so add a second DualSense if two people will share Play Now.

Mascom International warrants the NBA 2K22 disc for 6 months against manufacturing defects. If it will not read or install on a PS5 that plays other games without issue, bring it to our Nairobi CBD service desk. Scratches, cracks and other damage after you buy it are not covered.
