Mac mini M4 Pro 24GB 512GB is available at Mascom International for KSh 260,000, brand new and sealed, with a 12-core CPU, a 16-core GPU, 24GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD. Apple fits the Mac mini M4 Pro into the same 12.7 cm square, 5 cm tall aluminium case as the standard model, at 0.73 kg. It adds Thunderbolt 5 ports and more than double the memory bandwidth of the M4 versions. See it at our showroom in the Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, backed by a 12-month Apple warranty handled through Mascom International.
Designed for video editors, 3D artists, architects and app developers, the Mac mini M4 Pro handles the jobs that make lighter machines stall. A familiar problem for Kenyan creative studios is a client deadline met by a computer that takes an hour to export a short advert. The Mac mini M4 Pro brings 8 performance cores and a 16-core GPU to that work, with 273GB/s of memory bandwidth. Production houses in Westlands and Kilimani use machines like this to cut adverts, colour footage and render building walkthroughs on tight schedules.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops only stock entry desktops, Mascom International keeps the Mac mini M4 Pro on the shelf alongside the M4 tiers so buyers can compare directly. The Mac mini M4 24GB 512GB costs KSh 50,000 less with the same memory and storage, and we explain where the extra money goes. At Mascom International, we're seeing studios replace older towers with the Mac mini M4 Pro and reclaim desk space for monitors. Visit Kimathi Street to test it with your own project files, or order on WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery.
Common Questions About the Mac mini M4 Pro
How much is the Mac mini M4 Pro 24GB 512GB in Kenya?
The Mac mini M4 Pro 24GB 512GB is KSh 260,000 brand new and sealed at Mascom International, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. That price includes the 12-month Apple warranty handled through Mascom International, the power cord, and pay-on-arrival delivery to any of the 47 counties. A monitor, keyboard and mouse are separate. The Mac mini M4 24GB 512GB is KSh 50,000 cheaper with identical memory and storage but a less capable chip and Thunderbolt 4 instead of Thunderbolt 5.
What do I get for the extra KSh 50,000 over the Mac mini M4 24GB 512GB?
The Mac mini M4 Pro gives you a 12-core CPU against 10 cores, and a 16-core GPU against 10 cores. Memory bandwidth rises from 120GB/s to 273GB/s, which speeds up graphics-heavy and video work. Its three Thunderbolt 5 ports run at up to 120Gb/s against 40Gb/s, and it drives three 6K screens. Video editors, 3D artists and architects will feel the difference daily. Coders and analysts who mainly need memory can save the KSh 50,000 with the Mac mini M4.
Is the Mac mini M4 Pro a better buy than the iMac M4 for a design studio?
For a design studio, the Mac mini M4 Pro is the stronger machine, while the iMac M4 is the neater one. The iMac M4 with an 8-core CPU, 16GB and 256GB costs KSh 245,000 at Mascom International, only KSh 15,000 less. The Mac mini M4 Pro gives you 12 CPU cores, 16 GPU cores, 24GB of memory and twice the storage. The iMac includes a 24-inch screen, camera and speakers. Studios that colour-calibrate their own monitors usually prefer the Mac mini M4 Pro.
Can the Mac mini M4 Pro keep a Kenyan production house running through long workdays?
The Mac mini M4 Pro is built to sit on a desk working all day, and it draws no more than 155W continuously. That low draw means a modest UPS can carry it through a KPLC outage long enough to save a render and shut down cleanly. It operates between 10°C and 35°C, so keep the room ventilated during hot Nairobi afternoons. Production teams in Industrial Area and Kilimani pair it with a UPS and a wired Ethernet link to Safaricom or Zuku fibre.
Who should buy the Mac mini M4 Pro, and who would be better off with something else?
Buy the Mac mini M4 Pro if you edit 4K video, render 3D scenes, work in architecture software or run three high-resolution monitors. Studios and freelancers billing for that work recover the cost quickly. If your day is documents, email and browsing, the Mac mini M4 16GB 256GB at KSh 119,000 covers you for KSh 141,000 less. If you need to edit on location or travel for shoots, a laptop suits you better than any desktop.
What is Thunderbolt 5 on the Mac mini M4 Pro, and why does it matter?
Thunderbolt 5 is a cable standard that moves data at up to 120Gb/s, three times the 40Gb/s of Thunderbolt 4. On the Mac mini M4 Pro, all three back ports support it. For a videographer, that means copying a full day of camera footage to a fast external SSD takes far less waiting. It also carries display signals, power and accessories through one USB-C cable. Older USB-C and Thunderbolt devices still work in these ports, so your current drives stay useful.
Can the Mac mini M4 Pro handle architecture and 3D software like SketchUp and Blender?
The Mac mini M4 Pro runs SketchUp, Blender, Cinema 4D, Twinmotion and ArchiCAD on macOS, using its 16-core GPU with hardware ray tracing. Ray tracing is how software draws realistic light and reflections, and dedicated circuits make it much quicker. Architecture students from the University of Nairobi and JKUAT, and firms preparing walkthroughs for clients, get smoother viewports and shorter renders than on the M4 models. Some Windows-only packages such as Revit do not run natively, so confirm your software first.
Can the Mac mini M4 Pro drive three monitors for trading or editing?
Yes, the Mac mini M4 Pro drives three monitors at up to 6K resolution and 60Hz, connected through Thunderbolt or HDMI. Alternatively, it runs two screens: one 6K plus one 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz. Video editors use the extra screens for timelines, previews and colour scopes, while forex and stock traders keep charts and news side by side. Mascom International can supply the monitors and the right cables, and test the full arrangement before you take it home.
Technical Specifications
Processor
- Apple M4 Pro with a 12-core CPU: 8 performance cores for heavy work and 4 efficiency cores for light tasks.
- Twice the performance cores of the standard M4, which shortens exports, code builds and 3D renders that use every core.
- 16-core Neural Engine — dedicated circuits for AI features such as object masking, transcription and noise removal in editing apps.
- Hardware media engine for H.264, HEVC, ProRes and ProRes RAW, so professional camera footage edits and exports without stutter.
- AV1 decode in hardware for smooth playback of modern streaming video while keeping the processor free for other work.
Memory
- 24GB unified memory shared by the CPU and GPU, so large textures and video frames sit in one fast pool.
- 273GB/s memory bandwidth, more than double the 120GB/s of the M4, which speeds graphics, video and 3D workloads.
- Room for an editing app, After Effects, a browser, Slack and music playback all running together without slowdown.
- Memory is part of the chip package and cannot be upgraded later, so 24GB sets the machine's capacity for life.
- The Mac mini M4 24GB 512GB shares this memory amount but not the bandwidth, at KSh 50,000 less.
Storage
- 512GB SSD — fast solid-state storage with no moving parts, so macOS, apps and project libraries open in seconds.
- Space for about 170,000 photos at 12MP, or about 24 hours of 4K video at 30 frames per second.
- Thunderbolt 5 ports reach up to 120Gb/s, so an external SSD can serve as a fast working drive for big projects.
- Two front USB-C ports at up to 10Gb/s for card readers, flash drives and phones during quick transfers.
- Internal storage is fixed at purchase, so studios usually keep active jobs inside and archive finished ones externally.
Graphics
- 16-core GPU — the graphics processor that renders 3D scenes, applies colour grades and plays back multi-layer timelines smoothly.
- Hardware-accelerated ray tracing — dedicated circuits draw realistic light, shadow and reflection in 3D and architecture software.
- Drives three displays at up to 6K and 60Hz each, connected through Thunderbolt or HDMI.
- Two-display option: one 6K screen plus one 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz for large reference monitors.
- Native DisplayPort 2.1 over USB-C, the newer display standard that supports higher resolutions and refresh rates.
Connectivity
- Three Thunderbolt 5 ports at the back, each up to 120Gb/s, for fast storage, docks and high-resolution monitors.
- HDMI output for one display up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz, with multichannel audio to TVs and soundbars.
- Gigabit Ethernet for a stable wired link to your office fibre, which helps when uploading large finished files to clients.
- Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for fast wireless internet and dependable connections to keyboards, mice and headphones.
- Front 3.5mm headphone jack for quick audio checks without reaching behind the unit or unplugging speakers.
Build and Form Factor
- 12.7 cm wide, 12.7 cm deep and 5 cm tall, the same footprint as the standard Mac mini M4 models.
- Weighs 0.73 kg, slightly heavier than the 0.67 kg M4 version, and still light enough to carry to a client.
- Internal power supply accepts 100-240V AC at 50-60Hz and draws up to 155W continuously, with no external adapter brick.
- Aluminium enclosure with a built-in speaker for alerts and quick playback when studio speakers are switched off.
- Rated for 10°C to 35°C and 5% to 90% non-condensing humidity, and tested at altitudes up to 5,000 metres.
