The Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 15,000, brand new and sealed, in Black. Green Lion makes it as a third-party keyboard for the iPad Air; it is not an Apple product. The Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch pairs wirelessly with the tablet, uses scissor-switch keys, holds a stylus in a built-in pencil holder and runs on a 500mAh battery that recharges over USB-C. You can see it, and try it with your own iPad Air, at our shop on Kimathi Street in Nairobi CBD.
Designed for university students, content creators, NGO field staff and executives, the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch handles writing that is painful on glass. A student at Kenyatta University or JKUAT can type lecture notes and a full assignment without an on-screen keyboard eating half the display. A field officer moving between Kisumu and Nakuru can file a report from a guesthouse table. Creators get space to draft captions and scripts while the stylus stays clipped to the case, ready for sketches and markups. One accessory covers typing, drawing and carrying.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell unnamed keyboard cases with no fit check, Mascom International confirms your exact iPad Air model before you pay. Apple's own Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air costs considerably more, and the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch gives you physical keys and a carry-ready cover for much less. Buyers throughout Kenya report that the pencil holder alone saves them from losing an expensive stylus. Order the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch on WhatsApp with pay-on-arrival delivery, or walk in and test it first.
Common Questions About the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch
What is the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch price in Kenya?
The Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch sells for KSh 15,000 brand new at Mascom International, Nairobi CBD. The price includes the keyboard in Black, a 6-month warranty on manufacturing defects and pay-on-arrival delivery across all 47 counties. That is KSh 400 under the Green Lion Magic Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 11-inch and KSh 500 under the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad 10th Generation. Your iPad model, not the price, should decide which one you take.
Which iPad Air models does the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch fit?
The Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch is built for the iPad Air 11-inch, and the Green Lion product page also lists the earlier iPad Air 10.9-inch body. Apple has released several Air generations in similar sizes, so camera and button cutouts are worth checking. Go to Settings, then General, then About, and send us the model name on WhatsApp. Mascom International will confirm the fit in minutes, so you never pay for a keyboard your tablet cannot use.
Should I pick the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch or the Green Lion Magic Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 11-inch?
Pick by the tablet you own. The Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch is cut for the iPad Air body, while the Green Lion Magic Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 11-inch is cut for the iPad Pro 11-inch. Both are third-party Green Lion keyboards in Black with their own rechargeable batteries. The Air version costs KSh 15,000, which is KSh 400 less than the Pro case at KSh 15,400. Fitting the wrong one leaves cutouts misaligned, so confirm your model with us first.
Is the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch an official Apple accessory?
No, the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch is made by Green Lion, an independent accessory brand, and Apple does not make or certify it. It connects to the iPad wirelessly and draws on its own 500mAh battery, while Apple's keyboard for the Air attaches through contacts on the tablet and needs no charging. Apple's version costs considerably more in Kenya. If you want a keyboard and cover for the iPad Air without paying Apple's price, this Green Lion model is the practical option.
Does the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch hold an Apple Pencil?
Yes, the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch has a built-in pencil holder, so your stylus rides with the case instead of rolling loose in a bag. That matters for students and designers who sketch, sign documents or mark up PDFs between typing sessions. The pencil itself is sold separately. Mascom International can tell you which Apple Pencil works with your exact iPad Air before you buy one, since Apple matches pencils to specific tablet generations.
Can I recharge the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch from a power bank while travelling?
Yes, the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch charges through a USB-C port, so any power bank or USB-C phone charger can top it up. On a long bus ride from Nairobi to Mombasa or Eldoret, that means one power bank keeps both the tablet and the keyboard going. Its 500mAh battery is separate from the iPad's, so typing never drains the tablet. Store it away from direct sun on a hot dashboard, and dust off the keys after dusty roadside stops.
Who should buy the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch, and who should skip it?
Buy it if you own an iPad Air 11-inch and write daily: students at Strathmore or USIU, journalists, NGO staff and executives who answer long emails on the move. It gives you laptop-style typing for KSh 15,000. Skip it if your iPad is mostly for films, YouTube and games, because a simple cover protects it for less. Skip it too if your work depends on desktop-only software; a Windows business laptop such as an HP EliteBook or Lenovo ThinkPad suits that better.
Is the Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch good for online classes and Zoom meetings?
The Green Lion Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 11-inch suits online classes well, because the case holds the tablet upright while you type in chat or take notes. Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams all accept keyboard input on iPad, and the screen stays clear for the video call. Connect to Safaricom Home Fibre, a Safaricom or Airtel Kenya hotspot, or campus Wi-Fi, and the keyboard works the same. For students, it turns one iPad into a lecture, notes and assignment machine.
Technical Specifications
Typing Mechanism
- Scissor-switch keys — a small scissor frame under each key keeps presses stable and even, close to a laptop's feel.
- Full laptop-style layout — letters, numbers and punctuation sit where your fingers expect them, so touch typists keep their usual speed without looking down.
- Wireless pairing with the iPad — no cable runs between the keyboard and the tablet while you work.
- Operating distance of up to 10 metres — the link holds across a classroom desk, a conference table or a shared office bench.
- Works with keyboard shortcuts — copy, paste and undo function in apps that support keyboard commands, cutting repeated screen taps.
- Types into any text app — Word, Google Docs, Gmail, WhatsApp, M-Pesa and university portals all accept input from the keys.
iPad Air Compatibility
- Cut for the iPad Air 11-inch — camera, button and speaker openings follow the 11-inch Air body.
- Earlier Air body listed too — the Green Lion product page also names the iPad Air 10.9-inch as compatible.
- Confirm before you buy — read your model in Settings, then General, then About, and send it to us on WhatsApp.
- Separate Green Lion models for other tablets — Pro 11-inch and 10th Generation owners should take the keyboard cut for their body.
- Fit check at the counter — bring your iPad Air to Kimathi Street and we seat it in the case before you pay.
- Third-party product from Green Lion — not made or certified by Apple, and it uses its own battery rather than the tablet's.
Power and Charging
- 500mAh rechargeable battery — the keyboard powers itself, leaving the iPad's own battery free for the screen, Wi-Fi and apps.
- USB-C charging port — the same cable type as the iPad Air, so one charger serves both devices.
- Charges from power banks — any USB-C power bank tops it up during travel or a long day away from a socket.
- Independent of mains power — once charged, the keyboard keeps working through a short outage at home or in the office.
- Easy routine — plug it in overnight alongside the tablet so it starts each morning ready for lectures or client meetings.
- Plug type is no issue — any Kenyan three-pin USB adapter with a USB-C cable charges it safely.
Case Construction
- Black finish — a neutral colour that suits lecture halls, offices and client meetings and hides scuffs well.
- Built-in pencil holder — keeps a stylus attached to the case, so it travels with the tablet and stays easy to find between sketches.
- Folio-style cover — protects the back and edges and closes over the screen when the iPad goes into a bag.
- Upright working stance — holds the tablet at a reading angle on a desk so you can type and see the screen together.
- Wipe-clean surface — a dry cloth clears dust and fingerprints after a dusty commute; keep drinks and rain away from the keys.
What Comes With It
- Brand new and sealed — the box arrives unopened, so you are the first person to use the keyboard.
- Keyboard and case in one piece — nothing to assemble; charge, pair and start typing.
- Tablet and stylus sold separately — the box holds the keyboard case only, so budget for a pencil if you need one.
- 6-month Mascom International warranty — covers manufacturing defects in the keys, battery and case.
- Pay-on-arrival option — check the sealed box at your door before any money changes hands.
