Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery | Lithium-Ion Pack | Fits Latitude 3340 Latitude 3350 | Codes 5MTD8 YFDF9 HGJW8 | Replacement Battery
Keep a dependable 13-inch office notebook working through meetings and commutes without hunting for sockets.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery is available at Mascom International for KSh 3,300, a brand new replacement pack for Dell's 13-inch Latitude 3340 and Latitude 3350 business notebooks. Dell sold these batteries under several part codes, including 5MTD8, YFDF9, HGJW8, VDYR8 and 7WV3V, and one pack design serves both models. The Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery is a compatible replacement built to the factory outline, not a Dell-branded original. It uses lithium-ion cells and charges through the laptop's existing Dell adapter. Pick it up at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order it for delivery.
Designed for sales teams, NGO field staff, lawyers and university students who carry a Latitude 3340 or 3350 every day, the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery fixes a common complaint. After years of service, the original pack shrinks from a full morning of work to a few minutes. That leaves you tied to a wall socket in a Westlands café, or watching the screen fade on a matatu into town. A fresh Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery gives the laptop back its freedom to move between client meetings, lecture halls and site visits without a charger in hand.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that hand over a battery and wish you luck, Mascom International confirms the match before money changes hands. WhatsApp us a photo of the code on your old battery or the model label under the laptop, or carry the machine to our counter. At Mascom International, we're seeing more owners keep these Latitudes in service instead of replacing them, because the keyboard and chassis still hold up well. The Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery costs a small share of a replacement laptop, and pay-on-arrival delivery reaches Mombasa, Kisumu and every other county.
Common Questions About the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery
What is the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery price in Kenya?
The Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery sells for KSh 3,300 brand new at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That figure buys one replacement pack for the Latitude 3340 and Latitude 3350, plus a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. No charger comes with it and fitting labour is not included, though we will check the fit at our counter if you bring the laptop. Pay-on-arrival delivery lets you inspect it first. The Dell Latitude E5500 Laptop Battery for older 15-inch Latitudes costs KSh 2,800, which is KSh 500 less.
Will the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery fit my Latitude 3350?
Yes, the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery fits both the Latitude 3340 and the Latitude 3350, because Dell used one battery design across the two models. Check the code on your old pack to be certain. Codes seen on this battery include 5MTD8, YFDF9, HGJW8, VDYR8, 7WV3V, 6C0FN and PWM3D. If yours matches one of them, the pack fits. If you cannot find the code, send the model label from the underside of your laptop to Mascom International on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the match for you.
Is the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery a genuine Dell battery?
No, the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery is a brand new compatible replacement, not a Dell-made original. It is shaped to the same outline and connector as the factory pack, so it seats in the bay and charges through your existing Dell adapter. Mascom International sells it plainly as a replacement part, at a lower cost than hunting down an original for a laptop of this age. Every pack carries a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects, handled in person at our shop on Kimathi Street.
How many hours does the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery give?
Battery life on the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery varies with screen brightness, workload and the laptop's own condition, so we do not quote a fixed number of hours. A new pack brings back far more unplugged time than a worn original that may last only minutes. Office work, email and document editing use much less power than video calls or streaming. Dimming the screen, closing unused programs and turning off Bluetooth when idle all help each charge go further across a long working day.
Can the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery handle Kenyan power outages and commutes?
Yes, the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery carries your Latitude through a KPLC outage long enough to save work, finish a video call or send that email. It also frees you from sockets on matatu rides, at a Kilimani client meeting or on a field trip to Machakos. Charge it with the laptop's Dell adapter on a standard three-pin socket, ideally through a surge protector. Avoid leaving the laptop on a car dashboard in the afternoon heat, because high temperatures shorten the life of any lithium-ion battery.
How does the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery compare with the Dell Latitude E7270 Laptop Battery?
The Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery costs KSh 3,300 at Mascom International, while the Dell Latitude E7270 Laptop Battery costs KSh 5,300, a gap of KSh 2,000. The difference comes from the laptop each one fits, not from quality. This pack fits Dell's 13-inch Latitude 3340 and 3350. The E7270 battery fits the slimmer 12.5-inch Latitude E7270, which uses a different battery design and part code. Owners of a 3340 or 3350 should pick this pack, while E7270 owners need the other one.
Who should buy the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery, and who should skip it?
Buy the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery if your Latitude 3340 or 3350 still boots quickly and types well but cannot last away from the wall. It suits sales reps, students at JKUAT and small offices keeping reliable machines running for email, spreadsheets and Lipa na M-Pesa records. Skip it if the laptop has a cracked screen, a failing charging port or a dead motherboard, since a new battery solves none of those. If you own a different Latitude, choose the battery that matches its own code instead.
Do I need a new charger with the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery?
No, the Dell Latitude 3340 Laptop Battery charges through the Dell adapter that already powers your Latitude 3340 or 3350. As long as that adapter works and the laptop recognises it, nothing else is needed. If the laptop warns that the adapter type cannot be determined, the adapter or its cable may be at fault rather than the battery. Mascom International sells compatible Dell laptop adapters separately, and our team can test your current charger at the counter when you collect the battery.
Technical Specifications
Cell and Capacity
- Lithium-ion cells, the same chemistry as Dell's factory pack, so charging and power management behave as before.
- Brand new cells with no prior charge cycles, so you begin with the pack's full rated capacity, not a tired one.
- Voltage and capacity are printed on the pack label; compare them with your old battery when you collect it.
- No memory effect in lithium-ion cells, so short top-ups between meetings do no harm to the battery.
- Capacity, shown in Wh or mAh on the label, tells you how much energy the pack stores for unplugged work.
Compatibility and Model Matching
- Fits the Dell Latitude 3340 and Dell Latitude 3350, which share one battery design and one connector.
- Replaces packs coded 5MTD8, YFDF9, HGJW8, VDYR8 and 7WV3V, the codes most often printed on these batteries.
- Also matches packs listed as 6C0FN and PWM3D, so check your old label against these codes before ordering.
- Works with the laptop's existing Dell adapter, so there is no extra charger to buy if yours still works.
- Send the battery code or model label on WhatsApp and our team confirms the fit before you pay anything.
Build and Safety
- Protection circuitry inside cuts power if the cells overcharge, overheat or short, guarding both laptop and user.
- Rigid casing moulded to the factory outline, so the pack sits flush in the bay with no gaps or rattle.
- Connector pins line up with the laptop's battery port, giving steady contact for both charging and power delivery.
- Reports charge level to the laptop, so Windows shows the percentage remaining and an estimate of time left.
- Counter testing is available on request, so you see it charge and power your Latitude before you leave.
Charging and Care
- Charge to full before first use, then run two or three normal cycles so the battery meter calibrates properly.
- Avoid keeping the laptop plugged in at 100% around the clock, since full charge plus heat speeds up wear.
- Store the pack at roughly half charge in a cool spot if the laptop will sit unused for several weeks.
- Keep air vents clear of dust so the laptop runs cooler, which keeps the battery cooler and healthier too.
- Use a surge protector between the wall and the adapter to shield both from spikes after an outage.
