Cricket 22 | PS5 Disc | Big Ant Studios | PEGI 3 | 1-4 Local Players
Ashes rivalry, Hundred matches and Caribbean league action for fans who want the bat-and-ball sim at the gentlest cost of entry.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Cricket 22 for PlayStation 5 is now in stock at Mascom International for KSh 6,400, sold brand new and sealed as the standard edition disc. Developed by Big Ant Studios and published by Nacon, Cricket 22 puts the Ashes, the Big Bash, The Hundred and the Caribbean Premier League on one Blu-ray. Pick up your copy at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order for countrywide pay-on-arrival delivery. Every copy carries a PEGI 3 rating, English commentary and support for up to four players on a single console.
Cricket 22 suits the Kenyan fan who follows Test cricket on late-night streams and wants to bat without paying top-shelf money for the newest release. University students sharing a PS5 in a Kilimani or Madaraka hostel get four-player couch matches from one disc. Club cricketers from Nairobi Gymkhana and Ruaraka can rehearse field placements and bowling changes between weekend fixtures. Parents get a sports title with no content descriptors listed. Newcomers gain the most, because Cricket 22 rebuilt its tutorials to teach shot timing, line and length step by step instead of dropping you straight into a five-day Test.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya, Mascom International supplies sealed retail copies and stands behind them at a walk-in counter you can visit. At KSh 6,400, Cricket 22 sits KSh 600 below Cricket 26 on our shelf, which makes it the sensible starting point for players testing whether console cricket holds their interest. Buyers throughout Kenya tell us the career mode alone keeps them busy for months. Walk in Monday to Saturday to see the disc, or call +254 708 852 521 for same-day delivery across Nairobi and its environs.
Common Questions About the Cricket 22
Is Cricket 22 worth KSh 6,400 for a PS5 owner in Kenya?
Yes, Cricket 22 is worth KSh 6,400 if you want a full licensed cricket game on PS5 without paying for the newest release. The disc covers Test, one-day and T20 formats, men's and women's cricket, and a career mode with training, press conferences and injury management. Shared between four friends on one console, the cost works out to KSh 1,600 each. Mascom International sells it sealed from our Kimathi Street store, so your copy has never been played or traded.
Cricket 22 vs Cricket 26, which one should you buy?
Buy Cricket 22 if price matters most and you mainly want Ashes, Big Bash, Hundred and CPL action; buy Cricket 26 if current squads and the newest licences matter to you. Cricket 22 reached PS5 in December 2021, so its rosters and player ratings reflect that era. Cricket 26 costs KSh 7,000 at Mascom International, just KSh 600 more, and carries Big Ant's latest gameplay work. Casual players and younger gamers rarely notice the gap, while fans tracking today's international calendar will.
Which teams and tournaments are officially licensed in Cricket 22?
Cricket 22 carries official licences for The Ashes, Australia's Big Bash, England's The Hundred and the Caribbean Premier League. Licensed international sides cover Australia, England, the West Indies, New Zealand and Ireland. Teams outside that list, including Kenya, appear through the game's creation tools and community-made squads rather than official licences. Kenyan supporters often rebuild the national side themselves, naming the players they have watched at Nairobi Gymkhana, then take that team into exhibition matches against the licensed nations.
Can two or more people play Cricket 22 on one PS5?
Yes, Cricket 22 supports one to four players offline on a single PS5, so a living-room match needs only extra DualSense controllers. Online play allows two players head to head and requires an active PlayStation Plus membership. Local play suits family evenings and hostel tournaments where one console serves the whole room. Mascom International stocks extra DualSense controllers and PlayStation Plus memberships, so you can sort out a full matchday setup in one visit to Kimathi Street.
Does Cricket 22 online play work well on Kenyan home internet?
Cricket 22 online matches run on any stable home connection, and most Kenyan players use Safaricom Home Fibre, Zuku or Faiba. Fibre gives steadier results than a 4G hotspot, because every delivery depends on precise timing and lag shows quickly. Online play needs PlayStation Plus, which Mascom International sells as a digital code. During a power cut, a UPS from our store keeps the PS5 running long enough to save career progress and shut down safely.
Will the Cricket 22 disc work on a PS5 Digital Edition?
The Cricket 22 disc needs a PS5 with a working disc drive. It plays on the original standard PS5, the PS5 Slim with its built-in drive, and the PS5 Slim Digital Edition or PS5 Pro once the separate Disc Drive is attached. The first 2020 PS5 Digital Edition has no drive option, so that owner should buy from the PlayStation Store instead. Tell us your console model on WhatsApp and we will confirm compatibility before you pay.
Is Cricket 22 suitable for children?
Cricket 22 carries a PEGI 3 rating, meaning it suits players of all ages, with no content descriptors listed on the PlayStation Store. Younger children may find timing tricky at first, but the overhauled tutorials walk through batting, bowling and fielding at a gentle pace. Parents in Nairobi often prefer it to shooter titles for weekend screen time. Online matches only open with a PlayStation Plus membership, so parents decide whether a child ever meets strangers online.
Does Cricket 22 include women's cricket?
Yes, Cricket 22 includes men's and women's cricket across all of its content, from internationals to The Hundred and the Big Bash. The commentary team reflects that balance, with Mel Jones and Alison Mitchell alongside Michael Atherton, Ian Healy and David Gower. Girls' school teams and women's club players in Kenya can play as the stars they follow on television. That coverage means a women's career in Cricket 22 gets the same modes and depth as the men's game.
Who should buy Cricket 22, and who should skip it?
Buy Cricket 22 if you are new to console cricket, shopping on a tighter budget, or picking a gift for a fan who loves the Ashes. Skip it if you follow today's squads closely and want the newest licences, because Cricket 26 at KSh 7,000 is the better fit for you. Football fans who only tolerate cricket should ask us about EA Sports FC for PS5 instead. Still unsure? Our Kimathi Street team will compare both cricket titles with you before you decide.
Technical Specifications
Disc Edition and Publishing Credits
- Standard edition PS5 Blu-ray disc, sealed in retail packaging, so you get the complete game without separate download codes.
- Developed by Big Ant Studios, the Australian team behind several officially licensed cricket games on PlayStation consoles.
- Published by Nacon, the French publisher that distributes Big Ant sports titles across PlayStation, Xbox and PC worldwide.
- Released on PS5 in December 2021, so rosters and player ratings reflect cricket squads as they stood that year.
- Physical ownership means you can lend, resell or trade the disc later, which a digital Store purchase never allows.
Licensed Competitions, Squads and Commentary
- The Ashes licence brings official England and Australia Test squads, letting you replay the oldest rivalry in international cricket.
- Australia's Big Bash T20 league is included, giving short, fast matches that fit neatly into an evening session after work.
- England's The Hundred appears in full, and its 100-ball innings finishes 20 balls sooner than a standard T20 innings.
- Caribbean Premier League teams add West Indian franchise cricket, a favourite with fans who enjoy big hitting and quick scoring.
- Licensed international sides cover Australia, England, the West Indies, New Zealand and Ireland across both men's and women's squads.
- Commentary comes from Michael Atherton, Ian Healy, Mel Jones, Alison Mitchell and David Gower, giving matches a broadcast-style soundtrack.
Batting, Bowling and Fielding Controls
- New bowling controls give you finer say over where each delivery lands, rewarding accurate line and length over raw pace.
- New fielding inputs include directed run-out throws, so sharp fielding wins tight matches instead of relying on automatic returns.
- Overhauled tutorials teach timing step by step, which shortens the learning curve for anyone picking up console cricket fresh.
- A rebuilt first-time user flow guides newcomers into their opening matches, so nobody faces a full Test match unprepared.
- Difficulty settings let beginners and seasoned players each find a level where matches stay competitive and worth finishing.
Career and Match Modes
- Career mode follows one player from early matches into an international career, with training and form shaping your progress.
- Press conferences in career mode shape your player's public profile, adding a story layer beyond pure match results.
- Injury management forces rest decisions, so overworking a tired fast bowler carries real risk to the rest of the season.
- Offline play supports one to four players on a single PS5, suited to family nights and shared hostel tournaments.
- Online matches allow two players head to head and require an active PlayStation Plus membership on your PSN account.
PS5 Hardware Features
- DualSense vibration function is supported, adding controller feedback during play without any extra accessory or setting change.
- Ray-traced visual effects improve lighting and reflections, so stadium matches look closer to the television coverage you know.
- Faster loading on PS5 hardware cuts the wait between menus and matches compared with older PlayStation generations.
- Remote Play support lets you continue a match on a phone, tablet or PS Portal linked to your home network.
- Cloud streaming to PS5 and PS Portal needs the highest PlayStation Plus tier, though the disc itself never requires that membership.
Rating, Language and Ownership Details
- PEGI 3 rating with no content descriptors listed, making the disc suitable for every age group in the household.
- Voice and on-screen text are in English, matching the language most Kenyan cricket fans follow broadcasts in.
- Genre is sports simulation, focused entirely on cricket rather than a multi-sport collection or a set of arcade mini-games.
- The disc installs the game to your PS5 internal storage before first play, so keep free space on the SSD.
- Offline modes need no subscription, so career, exhibition and local matches keep working without any PlayStation Plus membership.
