Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 2,000, giving 19V at 2.37A through a slim 4.0x1.35mm barrel pin. Brand new and sealed, this replacement adaptor for ASUS laptops matches the thin VivoBook and ZenBook models whose original charger is rated 45W. You can pick up the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor at our shop on the first floor of the Old Mutual Building, Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. Bring the laptop along and we will plug it in at the counter, so you see the charging light come on before paying.
Designed for university students, journalists, sales teams and consultants who carry a light ASUS every day, the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor fixes a problem that stalls work fast. Thin chargers often split at the cable joint after months in a backpack, or get left behind in a lecture hall at Strathmore or JKUAT. A dead laptop then means missed deadlines, lost client calls and borrowed machines. This adaptor restores full charging on a 45W VivoBook or ZenBook, so assignments, proposals, online banking and video meetings carry on without hunting for a spare socket and a friend's charger.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that hand over whatever ASUS charger is on the shelf, Mascom International matches the wattage and pin to your laptop's label first. Buyers throughout Kenya report that the wrong current or a loose 4.0mm tip is the main reason a cheap replacement fails early. With the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor, you get the correct 19V rating, a snug connector and a 6-month warranty. Send your laptop model on WhatsApp for a quick fit check, or order for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya. The ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor ships the same day within Nairobi.
Common Questions About the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor
How much is the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor in Kenya?
The ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor sells for KSh 2,000 brand new at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That figure includes the adaptor with its attached DC lead, a detachable mains cord and a 6-month warranty, with pay-on-arrival delivery across Kenya. For laptops rated 65W on the same pin, the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor costs KSh 1,600, which is KSh 400 less. The ASUS 33W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor, at KSh 1,800, suits lower-rated models.
Which ASUS laptops work with the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor?
The ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor works with ASUS laptops that run on 19V and take a 4.0x1.35mm round socket, which includes many thin VivoBook and ZenBook models. Look at the sticker under the laptop or on the old charger; it should read 19V and 2.37A, or a lower current at 19V. The 4.0mm pin is noticeably thinner than older ASUS barrel plugs. Because one series can include several charger ratings, message Mascom International on WhatsApp with your full model number to confirm.
How does the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor compare with the ASUS 65W 4.0mm adaptor?
Both adaptors deliver 19V through the same 4.0x1.35mm pin, but the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor supplies 2.37A while the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor supplies 3.42A. The 65W unit can safely power a 45W laptop, because the laptop draws only what it needs, and it costs KSh 400 less. Choose the 45W unit if you want an exact match to your original rating. If your label says 3.42A, only the 65W unit will charge it properly during heavy work.
Will the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor cope with dust, heat and daily commuting in Kenya?
The ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor copes well with daily commuting when you treat the cable and pin with care. Dust is the bigger threat: grit in the laptop socket stops the thin 4.0mm tip seating fully, so blow the socket clean now and then. In hot rooms, keep the brick off soft surfaces so it can shed heat. On matatu and boda boda rides, coil the cable loosely and keep the pin away from heavy books. In humid Mombasa, store it somewhere dry.
Who should buy the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor, and who should skip it?
Buy the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor if your ASUS label reads 19V 2.37A, the socket takes the slim 4.0mm pin, and you want a like-for-like replacement. Students and office workers with thin VivoBooks are the typical buyers. Skip it if your laptop charges over USB-C, uses a wider ASUS barrel pin, or needs 3.42A. Gaming laptops in the TUF and ROG lines need far more power. Buyers watching every shilling can choose the cheaper ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor instead.
Does the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor charge the laptop while I use it?
Yes, the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor runs a 45W-rated ASUS and charges its battery at the same time during normal work. Typing, browsing, email, spreadsheets and video calls stay within what these laptops draw from a 45W supply. Charging slows when the screen is at full brightness and many programs are open, because more power goes to running the machine. If the battery shows plugged in but not charging, it may be worn, so bring the laptop to Mascom International for a test.
How can I tell if my old ASUS charger is the problem and not the laptop?
Your old ASUS charger is the likely fault if the laptop runs normally on battery but the charging light stays off when plugged in. Wiggle the plug gently at the socket; if the light flickers, the cable or pin is worn. A charger that grows too hot to hold, smells burnt or shows bare wire at either end should be retired at once. Bring the laptop and old adaptor to Mascom International, and we will test both against the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor at the counter.
Is the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor a good spare for work or travel?
The ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor makes a practical second charger, one for the office desk and one for home, so your laptop bag stays lighter. Consultants who move between client meetings in Westlands and Upper Hill tell us a spare saves them carrying a cable on every trip. At KSh 2,000, it costs far less than the lost time of a flat laptop just before a presentation. Keep the spare plugged into a surge-protected socket at your main desk.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Power Output
- 19V output, the voltage thin ASUS VivoBook and ZenBook laptops expect, so the charging circuit accepts the supply straight away.
- 2.37A output current, enough to run a 45W-rated ASUS through a full workday while topping up its battery.
- 45W rated power, from 19 volts times 2.37 amps, matching the figure printed on the original ASUS charger for these models.
- Mains input works on Kenya's 240V supply through the detachable cord, with no converter needed at home, campus or work.
- Charges and powers at once, so lectures, spreadsheets and video calls continue while the battery climbs back toward full.
- Right-sized for 45W laptops; for models labelled 3.42A, the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor is the correct choice.
Compatibility With ASUS Laptops
- Fits ASUS laptops rated 19V with a 4.0x1.35mm round socket, a layout used across many thin VivoBook and ZenBook models.
- 4.0x1.35mm pin measures 4.0mm across the outside with a 1.35mm centre hole, thinner than older ASUS barrel plugs.
- Safe on ASUS laptops rated 2.37A or lower at 19V, since the laptop pulls only the current it needs.
- Not suitable for USB-C ASUS models, which use a flat reversible plug and agree power levels with the charger.
- Not for TUF, ROG or other ASUS gaming laptops, which use larger connectors and need far higher wattage.
- Confirm fit by sending your laptop model or a photo of the old adaptor label to Mascom International on WhatsApp.
Build and Portability
- Two-piece brick layout, with the adaptor body resting on the desk while separate cords run to the wall and laptop.
- DC cable is fixed to the brick, so there is no loose joint at that end to wear or work free.
- Mains cord detaches for packing, and a damaged cord can be swapped without buying a new adaptor.
- Enclosed plastic housing shields the circuit from dust and small spills, sensible for shared desks and student hostels.
- Light enough for a backpack side pocket, which matters for students and staff who carry the laptop every day.
- Brand new and sealed, with unbroken insulation and a clean pin straight from the packaging.
Inclusions
- One replacement adaptor for ASUS laptops, DC lead attached and ending in the 4.0x1.35mm pin.
- One detachable mains cord; confirm the plug type for Kenya's 3-pin UK sockets on WhatsApp before dispatch.
- 6-month warranty from Mascom International, with claims handled at our Nairobi CBD service desk.
- Counter fit test on Kimathi Street: plug the adaptor into your own laptop and confirm charging before you pay.
