21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter | For 21.5-inch Widescreen Monitors | 60-Degree Viewing Cone | Two-Way Side Privacy | Matte Anti-Glare Finish
Lets accountants and receptionists handle confidential figures without colleagues glancing across at them.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
The 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter is available at Mascom International for KSh 5,000, brand new and in stock for 21.5-inch widescreen monitors. It uses micro-louver film: the picture stays clear to you, sitting straight in front, and turns dark from roughly 30 degrees off centre on either side. That leaves a readable cone of about 60 degrees, with privacy working to the left and the right. The matte face also cuts glare from windows and ceiling lights. Slim mounting tabs hold the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter along the bezel, so no glue touches the panel. Fitting at our Kimathi Street counter in Nairobi CBD is included in the price.
Designed for accountants, HR officers, doctors, lawyers and bank staff, the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter handles a common office problem. Open-plan floors in Upper Hill and Westlands put screens in full view of colleagues, visitors and anyone waiting at the counter. Salary schedules, KRA iTax returns and patient files then sit in plain sight. With the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter on, a person standing to your side sees a dark panel while you keep working as normal. Reception desks, pharmacy tills and SACCO front offices use the same set-up to keep customer details off display.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell privacy film loose and leave you to guess the size, Mascom International checks your monitor first and fits the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter at the counter. Customers across Nairobi tell us the fitting service saves them from returning a sheet that does not sit flush. Offices ordering several units can bring one monitor in as a sample. Measure your screen or send your monitor model on WhatsApp before ordering, then walk in or choose pay-on-arrival delivery from anywhere in Kenya.
Common Questions About the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter
How much is the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter in Kenya?
The 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter costs KSh 5,000, brand new, at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That price covers the filter sheet, its mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth, fitting by our technicians at the Kimathi Street counter and a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Delivery is pay-on-arrival across Kenya if you prefer to fit it yourself. The 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm costs KSh 4,000, but it is cut for taller 16:10 screens, so it is not a cheaper substitute.
Should I buy the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter or a 22-inch filter?
Buy the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter only if your monitor's lit area is a 21.5-inch widescreen, which many monitors sold as 22-inch actually are. Mascom International also stocks the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter at KSh 5,000 for true 22-inch 16:9 panels, and the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm at KSh 4,000 for 16:10 screens. Going up a size, the 23-inch Monitor Privacy Filter costs KSh 5,000 and measures 509 x 286mm. Check the diagonal on your monitor's rear label, then confirm with us on WhatsApp.
How do I measure my screen for the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter?
Measure only the lit picture area, not the plastic bezel, when sizing the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter. Switch the monitor on, run a tape measure across the glowing area from left edge to right edge, then from top to bottom, and note both figures in millimetres. Send those numbers, or a photo of the label on the back of the monitor, to Mascom International on WhatsApp. Our team matches them to the right sheet before you pay, so you never buy a filter that overlaps the frame or leaves a gap.
How private is my screen with the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter fitted?
Anyone more than about 30 degrees to your left or right sees a dark, unreadable screen through the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter. You, sitting straight in front, keep a clear picture inside a cone of roughly 60 degrees. The privacy works sideways, which is where colleagues, walk-in clients and people queuing usually stand. Someone directly behind your chair sits inside that cone and can still read the screen, so position your desk with its back to a wall where you can.
Will the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter make my picture dimmer?
Yes, slightly: micro-louver film blocks some light, so the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter makes the screen a little darker even from the front. Most users simply raise the monitor brightness a step or two to compensate. Text, spreadsheets and email stay sharp from a normal sitting position. Colour-critical work such as photo grading is better done with the filter lifted off, which takes only a moment because it rests on slim tabs rather than glue.
Does the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter cope with dust and glare in Kenyan offices?
Yes, the matte face of the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter cuts reflections from bright windows and fluorescent tubes, which helps offices facing the afternoon sun. It also sits in front of the panel, so dust blowing in from busy roads in Industrial Area settles on the filter rather than the monitor coating. Wipe it with the supplied cleaning cloth. Avoid spirit-based cleaners and rough paper towels, which can scratch or cloud a matte surface over time.
Can I remove the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter when I need to share my screen?
Yes, the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter lifts out of its mounting tabs and leaves no residue on the monitor. That suits loan officers, doctors and advocates who keep files private most of the day but turn the screen toward a client to explain a document. Mascom International technicians fit the tabs at the Kimathi Street counter at no extra cost, or you can place them yourself after delivery. Store the sheet flat in a document folder when it is off so it does not bend.
Who should buy the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter and who should skip it?
Buy the 21.5-inch Monitor Privacy Filter if you handle salaries, patient records, client accounts or ID details on a 21.5-inch widescreen in a shared space. Skip it if your monitor is another size, if you work alone behind a closed door, or if you edit photos all day and need full brightness. Laptop users need a laptop filter instead; Mascom International stocks the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter and the 15-inch Laptop Privacy Filter at KSh 3,500 each.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Privacy Performance
- Micro-louver film — tiny vertical blinds inside the sheet let light travel straight out to you and block it at side angles.
- Readable cone of about 60 degrees — the screen is clear within roughly 30 degrees either side of centre and dark beyond that.
- Two-way privacy — protection works to the left and the right, covering colleagues on both sides of a shared desk or counter.
- Matte anti-glare face — the textured surface scatters window and ceiling-light reflections, easing eye strain over a long working day.
- Slightly lower front brightness — raising the monitor brightness a step usually restores a comfortable picture for reading and spreadsheets.
- Removable design — lifts off without residue, so the screen can be shared with a client or used at full brightness.
Compatibility and Sizing
- Made for 21.5-inch widescreen monitors — the common office size supplied with many business desktop computer sets.
- Many monitors marketed as 22-inch carry a 21.5-inch viewable panel — check the rear label or spec sheet for the true diagonal.
- Measure the lit area, not the bezel — the width and height of the glowing picture decide whether the sheet sits flush.
- Not for taller 16:10 screens — those 22-inch monitors need the 22-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 474 x 297mm instead.
- Works with monitors from any maker — the filter sits on the front of the screen and needs no software or drivers.
- Fit confirmed before payment — send your measurements or monitor model to Mascom International on WhatsApp for a match.
Build and Mounting
- Slim mounting tabs — small tabs fixed to the bezel hold the sheet in place, with no glue spread across the panel.
- Black colour — the filter's edge blends with the black frames used on most office monitors.
- Thin, flexible sheet — adds almost no depth to the screen, so the monitor still sits on its stand or wall arm.
- Residue-free removal — the sheet lifts out of the tabs without marking the screen coating underneath.
- Front shield — the filter takes dust, fingerprints and light scuffs before they reach the monitor's own surface.
- Simple cleaning — the supplied cloth keeps the matte face clear of smudges with a gentle weekly wipe.
Inclusions and Service
