Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner is available at Mascom International for KSh 9,800, brand new and sealed, in Black. It is rated at 11-12kPa of suction and runs on a 2600mAh rechargeable battery, so it cleans without a cord. Among the four Porodo cleaners we stock, the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner is the one built around suction alone, with no air-blowing mode. That focus is what lets it pull dirt out of rugs and fabric rather than just skimming the surface. Collect it from our shop at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order delivery.
Designed for homeowners, tenants and young families, the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner handles the floor and fabric cleaning that a handheld duster cannot. Sand from shoes works deep into rugs, and pet hair and crumbs settle into sofa cushions and mattress seams. Sweeping with a broom moves the top layer but leaves the rest trapped in the fibres. In homes across Ngong, Ruaka, Kitengela and Syokimau, where unpaved access roads send dust indoors daily, stronger suction makes a visible difference. One cordless pass lifts what a broom leaves behind, room by room.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that stock only small desk vacuums, Mascom International carries the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner for buyers who need real floor cleaning without a corded machine. Customers across Nairobi tell us they bought a handheld duster first and later wanted more pulling power for rugs. This model fills that gap at under KSh 10,000. Come to our Kimathi Street store to hold the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner and feel its suction on your palm, or order on WhatsApp with pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.
Common Questions About the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner
What is the price of the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner in Kenya?
The Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner sells for KSh 9,800 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD, brand new and sealed in Black. That covers the 11-12kPa unit, a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. It costs KSh 2,600 more than the Porodo 2-in-1 Vacuum and Blower and KSh 3,540 more than the Porodo Lifestyle 2-in-1 Portable Vacuum Cleaner and Air Duster. You can pay with M-Pesa, card or cash.
What does 11-12kPa suction mean on the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner?
kPa, or kilopascals, measures how strongly a vacuum pulls air and dirt in, and a higher figure means deeper cleaning. At 11-12kPa, the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner pulls noticeably harder than the 7000Pa, or 7kPa, rating of the Porodo Lifestyle 2-in-1 Portable Vacuum Cleaner and Air Duster. In practice, that extra pull is what lifts sand and hair from rug fibres and sofa fabric, not just loose crumbs from a hard surface. For a rug that has not been cleaned in months, expect to go over it twice.
Is the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner or the Porodo Lifestyle 2-in-1 Portable Vacuum Cleaner and Air Duster better for my home?
Choose the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner if rugs, carpets, sofas and mattresses make up most of your cleaning. Its 11-12kPa rating gives it clearly stronger suction. The 2-in-1 Lifestyle model costs KSh 3,540 less, adds an air-duster mode, an H14 HEPA filter and an LED light, and suits dusting shelves and electronics. Families with lots of fabric surfaces get more from this model; light-dust households can save money with the 2-in-1.
Can the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner handle pet hair?
Yes, pet hair is one of the jobs where its stronger suction pays off. Dog and cat hair weaves itself into sofa fabric, car-seat covers and rug pile, and weaker handheld vacuums tend to slide over it. The Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner pulls with 11-12kPa, enough to lift most loose hair from fabric in slow passes. Empty the dust container often during heavy shedding, because hair fills it faster than ordinary dust. Pull wrapped hair off the nozzle by hand before you start the next room.
How does the 2600mAh battery of the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner cope with KPLC outages?
The 2600mAh battery means the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner works during a KPLC outage as long as you charged it beforehand. Strong suction uses more power than gentle dusting, so plan to clean room by room rather than the whole house in one go. Recharge it as soon as mains power returns. Households that see frequent blackouts, particularly in the long rains, keep it topped up after every use so it is always ready.
Is the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner good for mattresses and dust mites?
It is a sensible tool for mattress cleaning, which most Kenyan homes never do. Mattresses collect skin flakes, dust and the mites that feed on them, and a broom or cloth cannot reach any of that. Slow passes with the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner across the top, sides and seams lift loose debris. Do it monthly, ideally on a sunny day when you can also air the mattress outside afterwards. Families with a child who has asthma often add this to their routine.
Will the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner work on tiles, terrazzo and wooden floors?
It works on all common Kenyan floor types, including ceramic tiles, terrazzo, vinyl and wooden parquet. Hard floors are actually the easiest surface, because dirt sits on top instead of in fibres. Sand tracked in from a Mombasa beach or a dusty Kitengela road comes up in one or two passes. For corners and the edges along skirting boards, angle the head into the gap and move slowly so the suction can catch the grit. Stairs are quick too, since there is no cord to snag on the steps.
Who should buy the Porodo Lifestyle Portable Vacuum Cleaner, and who should skip it?
Buy it if your home has rugs, carpets, upholstered sofas or pets, and you want stronger suction without a corded machine. Skip it if you mostly dust keyboards, laptops and shelves; the Porodo 2-in-1 Vacuum Cleaner and Air Duster costs KSh 3,500 less and blows dust out of vents. Car owners who need an air jet for dashboard gaps will be better served by the Porodo 2-in-1 Vacuum and Blower, also at Mascom International. Large homes cleaned in one long session may want a corded unit instead.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Suction
- 11-12kPa suction — kilopascals measure pulling force; this rating lifts sand, hair and crumbs from rug fibres and sofa fabric.
- Suction-only design — no blowing mode, so the whole tool is built around picking dirt up rather than pushing it around.
- Stronger than the 2-in-1 Lifestyle model — 11-12kPa against 7000Pa, or 7kPa, a clear step up for fabric and carpet cleaning.
- Floor and fabric focus — handles rugs, mattresses, sofa cushions and car-seat covers as well as hard floors and stairs.
- Slow passes work best — moving the head slowly over fabric gives the suction time to pull dirt out of the fibres.
Battery and Charging
- 2600mAh rechargeable battery — mAh, or milliamp-hours, describes how much charge the battery stores between top-ups.
- Cordless use — no cable to drag between rooms, around furniture or up the stairs while you clean a whole floor.
- Room-by-room routine — strong suction draws more power, so clean a room or two per session and recharge in between.
- Blackout-friendly — charge it while mains power is on and it keeps working through a KPLC outage without a socket.
- Top up after use — recharging after each session keeps it ready and avoids leaving the battery flat for long periods.
Compatibility with Surfaces
- Rugs and carpets — lifts sand and grit worked into the pile, which a broom only brushes across the top.
- Sofas and upholstery — clears crumbs, hair and dust from seams, cushion edges and the gaps beneath back cushions.
- Mattresses — pulls loose skin flakes and dust from the surface and seams, part of a monthly bedroom clean.
- Hard floors — ceramic tiles, terrazzo, vinyl and wooden parquet clean up in one or two passes per area.
- Pet areas — dog and cat hair comes off fabric beds, blankets and car-seat covers with slow, overlapping passes.
Care and Maintenance
- Empty after each session — a full container cuts airflow, and airflow is what produces the 11-12kPa pull.
- Clean the filter regularly — tap it over a bin outdoors; a clogged filter is the usual reason suction drops.
- Clear the intake — check the nozzle for hair, string or a coin before each session, since a blockage weakens suction.
- Dry dirt only — never vacuum water, wet mud or spilled tea, which can damage the motor and void the warranty.
- Store indoors — keep it in a dry cupboard away from direct sun and the humid air of a coastal balcony.
Build and Inclusions
- Black finish — a neutral colour that sits in a cupboard or corner of the living room without standing out.
- Portable body — light enough to carry from room to room and up to a bedroom without unplugging anything.
- Built-in dust container — empty it into a bin after each session, and more often when vacuuming pet hair.
- Brand new and sealed — each unit leaves our Kimathi Street shop in its original Porodo packaging; test it at the counter first.
- 12-month warranty — manufacturing defects under normal use are covered, with claims handled at our Nairobi CBD service desk.
