SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL | Whisper-Quiet Switches | IP32 Water and Dust Resistance | 8-Zone RGB Lighting
A hushed, spill-tolerant pick for students and casual Fortnite fans who value sense over spectacle.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL, a tenkeyless gaming keyboard with Whisper-Quiet switches, IP32 water and dust resistance and 8-zone RGB lighting, is available at Mascom International for KSh 28,000. Every unit we sell is brand new and sealed. The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL drops the number pad to save desk space while keeping dedicated media keys and a clickable volume roller. Its switches are rated for 20 million keypresses, and the keyboard weighs about 639 grams, light enough to carry between campus, home and the office in a laptop bag without strain. Mascom International keeps the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL at our store in the Old Mutual Building on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for university students, home-office workers and casual PC or console players across Kenya, the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL handles gaming and typing without the clatter of a loud mechanical board. Hostel rooms at Kenyatta University or Moi University are shared spaces, and a noisy keyboard at 1 AM causes friction. The Whisper-Quiet switches keep things calm. Spilled tea is the other common killer of keyboards in Kenya, and the IP32 rating means the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL can survive a splash that would short a cheaper board.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell unbranded keyboards that wear out within months, Mascom International stocks genuine SteelSeries hardware with local warranty support. Customers across Nairobi tell us they choose the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL for the quiet keys and the smaller footprint on crowded desks. At Mascom International, we're seeing parents buy it for teenagers who game and do schoolwork on one computer. Drop by the shop to type on the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL, or order on WhatsApp and pay on arrival, using M-Pesa or cash.
Common Questions About the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL
How much does the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL cost in Kenya?
The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL costs KSh 28,000, brand new and sealed, at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That price includes the keyboard, its attached USB cable, a 6-month Mascom International warranty and pay-on-arrival delivery to any of Kenya's 47 counties. You can test it in the store before paying. If you later want analog switches for competitive shooters, the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz sits KSh 8,000 higher in our range.
How does the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL compare with the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz NiKo Edition?
The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL costs KSh 14,000 less than the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz NiKo Edition and adds IP32 water and dust resistance. The Razer uses adjustable analog optical switches, Rapid Trigger and 8000Hz polling, which help ranked CS2 and Valorant players react faster. The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL uses quieter fixed switches and suits typing, casual games and shared rooms. Pick the Razer for competitive esports. Pick the SteelSeries for a quiet, tough everyday keyboard on a lower budget.
Can the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL survive spills and dust in Kenya?
Yes, the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL carries an IP32 rating, meaning it resists dust and light splashes such as a knocked-over cup. That matters in dusty towns like Garissa and Isiolo, and in busy offices around Industrial Area. If you spill liquid, unplug it at once, turn it upside down and let it dry fully before reconnecting. IP32 is not waterproof, so it must never be submerged or washed under a tap. A weekly wipe and shake keeps crumbs from building up.
Who should buy the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL, and who should skip it?
The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL suits students, office workers, writers and casual gamers who want a quiet, spill-resistant keyboard with RGB lighting. It is a good fit for small desks and shared hostel rooms. Skip it if you play CS2 or Valorant competitively and want Rapid Trigger, because the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz NiKo Edition is built for that. Skip it too if you enter numbers all day, since the full-size Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz keeps a number pad.
Will the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL work with my PlayStation or Xbox?
Yes, the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL plugs into a USB port and works with Windows PCs, Mac computers, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. On consoles it is handy for typing messages, searching streaming apps and playing the games that accept keyboard input. Customisable lighting and macros need the SteelSeries software on a Windows or Mac computer. Once set, basic typing and media keys work wherever you plug the keyboard in, including a gaming lounge PC in Kisumu.
How quiet are the Whisper-Quiet switches on the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL?
The Whisper-Quiet switches on the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL are built to press softly, with a muted sound far below a typical clicky mechanical keyboard. You hear a gentle tap rather than a sharp click. That makes the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL a sensible choice for online classes, Zoom calls with clients and late-night gaming near sleeping family members. SteelSeries rates the switches for 20 million keypresses, so daily use for years is well within their range.
Does the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL support anti-ghosting for gaming?
Yes, the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL offers 100% anti-ghosting with 24-key rollover. Ghosting happens when a keyboard misses a key because several are pressed at once. With anti-ghosting, moving, jumping, crouching and reloading at the same time all register correctly. For casual shooters, racing games and Minecraft, that is all most players need. The dedicated game mode also disables the Windows key, so you never minimise your game by accident in the middle of a match.
Is the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL worth KSh 28,000 in Kenya?
The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is worth KSh 28,000 if you value a quiet, spill-resistant keyboard from a known gaming brand with local warranty support. Spread over three years of daily use, it costs about KSh 26 per day. Cheaper unbranded keyboards often fail after one spill or lose keys within months. The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL also adds RGB lighting, media controls and a clean, compact layout, which suits both a KRA filing session and an evening of casual games.
