Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip | 16.4ft 5m Length | Sound Reactive | 44-Key Remote | Timer Function
Colour that pulses with your music, set from the sofa, for bedrooms, gaming corners, shop displays and parties.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
The Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip is available at Mascom International for KSh 2,300, brand new and sealed. It runs 16.4 feet, which is 5 metres, and changes colour and brightness in time with music through its sound reactive mode. A 44-key remote sets the colour, brightness, jump and fade effects, and a timer that switches the light on or off at a set time. Porodo Blue is the lighting and lifestyle line from the Porodo accessories brand. Come see the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip running at our shop in the Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for mobile gamers, streamers, university students and young professionals renting bedsitters across Kenya, the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip turns a plain room into a space with its own mood. A single ceiling bulb leaves a gaming setup or study desk flat and harsh at night. Run the strip behind a TV, under a bed frame or along a shelf, and the room takes on soft background colour that changes with the song playing. Students in hostels near Kenyatta University and JKUAT use it to brighten small rooms, while salon and phone shop owners line display shelves with it.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that sell loose LED reels with no remote and no brand behind them, Mascom International stocks the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip as a complete kit with a written warranty. At Mascom International, we're seeing it chosen to finish off new gaming corners and TV walls, because it costs little and changes the whole look of a room. Customers in Westlands and Kilimani use the timer to have lights on when they get home. Test the remote and music mode at our counter, or order the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip on WhatsApp and pay on delivery.
Common Questions About the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip
How much is the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip 5m in Kenya?
The Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip 5m costs KSh 2,300 brand new at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That price covers the 5-metre strip and its 44-key remote, plus a 6-month warranty handled at our Kimathi Street service desk. Delivery is pay-on-arrival, so you check the kit before paying by cash or M-Pesa. Orders in Nairobi and its environs usually arrive the same day, in time to set up before an evening party.
How does the sound reactive mode on the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip work?
The Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip changes its colour and brightness in step with the music playing in the room. It listens to the sound around it rather than connecting to your phone, so any source works: a Bluetooth speaker, a TV, a radio or a live band. Louder beats trigger stronger changes. Switch the mode on from the remote, and switch back to a steady colour when you want calm light for reading or sleep.
What can I control with the 44-key remote on the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip?
The 44-key remote on the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip controls colour, brightness, jump effects, fade effects and the timer. Jump effects snap quickly between colours, which suits parties, while fade effects move slowly from one shade to the next, which suits winding down at night. Brightness can be lowered for a dim night light or raised for a lively room. Keep a spare button battery for the remote handy, since it runs on its own small cell.
How long is the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip, and where will it fit?
The Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip is 16.4 feet, or 5 metres, long. That is enough to run around the back edge of a 65-inch TV, along the top of a standard wardrobe, or across one wall of a bedsitter. It also suits the underside of a desk or the edge of a shop display shelf. Measure the surface before you mount it, and plan the route so the power end sits near a socket.
How does the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip handle power cuts in Kenya?
The Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip needs mains power, so it switches off during a KPLC outage and comes back once supply returns. Re-select your colour or mode with the remote if it does not resume the last setting. To protect it from the surges that often follow a blackout, plug it into a surge-protected extension. In coastal towns like Mombasa, keep it indoors and away from damp walls, because humidity shortens the life of adhesive and electronics.
Should I buy the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip or an app-controlled Wi-Fi light strip?
Pick the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip if you want simple remote control with no app, no account and no Wi-Fi password. App-controlled strips add phone scheduling and voice assistant support, but they need a stable home network and usually cost more. The Porodo Blue kit covers colour, brightness, effects, music mode and a timer from one handheld remote. Choose an app-based strip only if you already run connected home gear and want everything on your phone. For a hostel room or shop shelf, the remote kit is the simpler buy.
Can the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip be used for a gaming setup?
Yes, the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip works well behind a gaming monitor, TV or desk for PS5, Xbox and PC setups. Light behind a screen softens the contrast between a bright display and a dark room, which many gamers find easier on the eyes during long sessions. Sound reactive mode adds flashes during in-game explosions or music, and fade mode suits slower games. Pick a colour that matches your controller or chair for a tidy look. Content creators streaming on TikTok or Twitch also use it as coloured background light on camera.
Who should buy the Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip, and who should skip it?
The Porodo Blue RGB Light Strip suits gamers, students, young professionals, party hosts and small shop owners who want coloured mood light at a low cost. It is easy to set up and runs from a remote. Skip it if you need bright white task lighting for a workshop, kitchen or office, because it is designed for colour and ambience rather than strong working light. A standard LED tube or panel light is the better fit there. It also suits indoor use only, so outdoor garden or gate lighting needs a weatherproof product.
Technical Specifications
Core Function
- RGB colour lighting — red, green and blue light mixed to produce a wide range of colours from one strip.
- Sound reactive mode — colour and brightness change in time with music played nearby, with no phone connection needed.
- Jump effects — colours switch quickly from one to the next, a lively look for parties and celebrations.
- Fade effects — colours blend slowly from shade to shade, a calmer look for evenings and bedtime.
- Adjustable brightness — dim it to a soft night light for a child's room, or turn it up for a brighter living space.
- Steady single-colour mode — hold one colour for reading, studying or matching a room's décor, with no flashing at all.
Remote Control and Timer
- 44-key remote — dedicated buttons for colours, effects, brightness and modes, so you rarely need to scroll through settings.
- Timer function — set the light to switch on or off at a set time from the remote.
- Coming home to lit rooms — use the timer so the strip is on when you walk in from work in the evening.
- Sleep-friendly shutoff — set the strip to turn off after you fall asleep, saving power overnight.
- No app, account or Wi-Fi needed — the remote handles everything, which suits homes and hostels without a home router or fibre line.
- Point-and-press control — aim the remote at the strip and press once; no pairing step or setup menu to learn.
Size and Placement
- 16.4 feet, or 5 metres, of strip — long enough to run around a large TV, a bed frame or a shelf unit.
- Behind a TV or monitor — soft back light that eases the contrast between a bright screen and a dark room.
- Under beds, desks and cabinets — hidden placement that throws colour onto the floor and walls.
- Along shop shelves and display cabinets — draws attention to products in salons, phone shops and boutiques.
- Indoor placement recommended — keep it away from rain, damp walls and direct water splashes in kitchens and bathrooms.
- Plan the route first — the power end must sit near a socket, so start the run at the plug and work outward.
Build and Inclusions
- Flexible strip — bends around corners and follows the edges of furniture without rigid fittings.
- Remote included in the kit — everything needed to control the light comes together in one box.
- Porodo Blue branding — the lighting and lifestyle line of the Porodo accessories brand, sold with a written warranty.
- Mains powered — plugs into a wall socket; use a surge-protected extension to guard against power returning after a blackout.
- Simple setup — mount the strip, plug in the power, and pick a colour or mode from the remote in under a few minutes.
- Low running cost — an LED strip draws far less power than a row of ordinary bulbs, so evening use barely moves your KPLC token balance.
