NieR Automata | PS4 Physical Disc | Single Player Action RPG | PlatinumGames Combat
Android soldiers 2B and 9S fight machine invaders on a ruined Earth in a story with multiple endings.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International stocks the NieR Automata at KSh 4,800, brand new and sealed on a PS4 physical disc. Published by Square Enix and developed by PlatinumGames under director Yoko Taro, NieR Automata is a single-player action role-playing game for one player. You control androids of the YoRHa unit as they fight machine lifeforms that have taken over the planet. The disc on our shelf is the standard edition of the game, with the complete main story. Find your copy at the Mascom International store in the Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for adult players across Kenya who want quick combat and a story that keeps them thinking afterwards, NieR Automata handles both in one game. Fights move fast, with sword slashes, dodges and a floating support unit called a Pod that shoots on command. Some sections switch to shooter-style camera angles, so the gameplay changes often. Many story-heavy games feel slow, and many fast games have thin plots. NieR Automata avoids both problems. It suits office workers in Upper Hill winding down after a long day, and Moi University students who want a full story in one semester.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops cannot say whether a game disc has been opened before, Mascom International sells every NieR Automata copy in factory shrink wrap. Buyers throughout Kenya report that they prefer a disc they can lend or trade, which a digital download does not allow. The NieR Automata disc plays on a PS4 and on a PS5 with a disc drive. Walk into our Kimathi Street shop to see the case, or send us a WhatsApp message for pay-on-arrival delivery. NieR Automata reaches Nairobi buyers on the day they order.
Common Questions About NieR Automata
What is the NieR Automata PS4 price in Kenya?
NieR Automata costs KSh 4,800 at Mascom International in Nairobi as a brand new, sealed PS4 physical disc. The price covers the disc in its retail case, a 6-month warranty on the disc and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. It is KSh 300 more than Nioh 2 at KSh 4,500 and KSh 100 more than Mass Effect Legendary Edition at KSh 4,700. You pay in cash or by M-Pesa only after the order reaches you and the seal checks out.
Is this the NieR Automata standard edition or the Game of the YoRHa Edition?
The NieR Automata disc at Mascom International is the standard edition, with the full main game and all its endings. The Game of the YoRHa Edition adds the 3C3C1D119440927 story expansion, extra Pod skins, a machine mask accessory, a PS4 dynamic theme and avatars. If you specifically want those extras on disc, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will confirm which cover is in stock. For most players, the standard disc gives the complete story and the core experience.
How does NieR Automata compare with Nioh 2?
NieR Automata is faster and more story-driven, while Nioh 2 is slower, harder and focused on careful sword duels. NieR Automata costs KSh 4,800 and is a single-player game, mixing melee combat with shooting from your Pod. Nioh 2 costs KSh 4,500 and adds online co-op for up to three players through PlayStation Plus. Both carry adult content ratings. Choose NieR Automata if you want a gripping plot and lively combat on your own. Choose Nioh 2 if you want a tough challenge shared with friends online.
Does NieR Automata need internet or PlayStation Plus in Kenya?
NieR Automata is a single-player game, so the whole story plays offline from the disc with no PlayStation Plus needed. Kenya is not an officially supported PlayStation Network region, which makes offline play valuable here. Connecting over Safaricom, Airtel Kenya or home fibre is only needed if you want to download a game update. A KPLC power cut will end your session without warning, so use the in-game save points often and consider a UPS to protect the console.
Why does NieR Automata have multiple endings?
NieR Automata tells its story across several playthroughs, and each one reveals more of the plot from a different character's view. Your first run follows the android 2B, and later runs shift perspective and add new scenes and areas. The game also has many shorter joke endings triggered by unusual choices. Players who stop after the first credits miss much of the story, so plan to keep going. Customers across Nairobi tell us the later routes are what made the game stay with them.
Will the NieR Automata PS4 disc play on a PS5?
Yes, the NieR Automata PS4 disc plays on any PS5 with a disc drive, through backward compatibility. Insert the disc, install the game and keep the disc in the drive while you play. The PS5 Digital Edition has no drive, so it needs the detachable disc drive made for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition and PS5 Pro. Sony notes that some PS4 features may be absent when a game runs on PS5, though the story and combat play the same way.
Who should buy NieR Automata, and who should skip it?
Buy NieR Automata if you are an adult who enjoys fast action, unusual stories and games worth playing more than once. It suits fans of Japanese role-playing games, students with free evenings and anyone who likes a plot to discuss with friends. Skip it if you are buying for a child, because it carries a mature rating for violence, blood and strong language. For a younger player, Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Remastered at KSh 3,800 is the better fit.
Is the NieR Automata disc at Mascom International genuine and sealed?
Every NieR Automata disc at Mascom International is a brand new, factory-sealed retail copy for PS4. You can check the shrink wrap and case in person at our Kimathi Street store before paying. Delivered orders are pay-on-arrival, so you confirm the seal before paying in cash or through Lipa na M-Pesa. Unlike anonymous sellers on social media, we operate a walk-in shop in the Old Mutual Building, so you have a real address to bring the disc back to if it fails.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Gameplay
- Action role-playing game from PlatinumGames — fast sword combat with combos, dodges and counters drives every battle.
- Pod support unit — a floating robot follows your character and fires on command, so you can hit distant enemies while staying close.
- Changing camera styles — some sections switch to side-scrolling or top-down shooter views, which keeps long sessions from feeling repetitive.
- Plug-in chips — you fit chips that change abilities and what appears on screen, letting you tune your android to suit how you play.
- Multiple endings — several playthroughs reveal the full story, so one disc gives far more hours than a single run.
- Story by Yoko Taro — the director is known for unusual, emotional plots that question what it means to be human.
- Mature content — rated for adults because of blood, partial nudity, strong language and violence.
Compatibility and Online Use
- PS4 console — plays on the original PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro using each console's built-in disc drive, with nothing extra to buy.
- PS5 backward compatibility — runs on a PS5 with a disc drive; the PS5 Digital Edition needs the detachable drive.
- Offline single player — one player only, and the full game runs with no internet and no PlayStation Plus membership.
- Optional updates — connect the console only when you want to download a game patch, then disconnect and keep playing offline.
- Controller — uses the DualShock 4 on PS4, or the DualSense controller when the disc runs on a PS5, with no special accessory needed.
Build and Disc Format
- Blu-ray game disc — PS4 games come on Blu-ray, read by the console's own drive with no extra hardware needed.
- Install from disc — the console copies game data to internal storage on first play, which shortens loading later; keep some free space ready.
- Disc stays in the drive — the console checks for the disc at start-up, so keep it inserted while you play.
- Retail case — a standard PS4 plastic case keeps the disc clear of dust and scratches between sessions, useful during the dry season.
- Physical ownership — you own the disc, so you can lend it, gift it or trade it in a way digital copies do not allow.
Inclusions and Edition Details
- Standard edition — the full main game on disc, without the story expansion and cosmetic extras bundled in the Game of the YoRHa Edition.
- Published by Square Enix — the Japanese publisher behind many well-known role-playing series released this game on PS4.
- Playable characters — you control the YoRHa androids 2B, 9S and A2 across different parts of the story, each with its own fighting style.
- Ready to play from the box — insert the disc, install and start playing; no download code or account top-up is required.
- Factory seal — each copy arrives shrink-wrapped, showing it has never been opened, played or resold.
