MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter | Fits 2019 Intel Touch Bar Model | 60-Degree Viewing Cone | Two-Way Side Privacy | Matte Anti-Glare Tab Mount
Keeps payroll sheets, contracts and banking dashboards readable only to the person sitting directly in front of the laptop.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
The MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 5,000, brand new and sealed, with fitting included. It is cut for the 16-inch MacBook Pro that Apple sold from late 2019, the Intel model with a Touch Bar above the keyboard. A micro-louver film keeps the display clear for you and turns it dark from about 30 degrees off centre on either side. The face is matte to cut glare, and slim tabs hold it along the bezel. Collect the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter at Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for accountants, lawyers, executives and developers across Kenya, the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter answers a daily problem: people read your screen without asking. A 16-inch display is large, so a salary schedule or tender document can be read from the next seat in a matatu or across a café table in Westlands. With the filter fitted, anyone beside you sees a dark panel while you keep working normally. It also suits open-plan offices in Upper Hill, banking halls and client waiting rooms, where a confidential draft can sit open for hours.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell a loose generic sheet and leave you to guess the size, Mascom International stocks a MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter cut for this exact lid and fits it at the counter at no extra cost. Customers across Nairobi tell us the fitting is the part they value most, because a misaligned filter leaves a bright strip along one edge. Bring the laptop in and our technicians mount the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter for you, or order with pay-on-arrival delivery and fit it yourself using the supplied tabs.
Common Questions About the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter
How much is the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter in Kenya?
The MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter costs KSh 5,000 brand new at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. That price covers the filter sheet, its mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth, fitting by our technicians at the counter and a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Delivery anywhere in Kenya is pay-on-arrival, so you inspect the item before paying. For the newer A2485 model, the tab-mount filter is also KSh 5,000 and the magnetic version is KSh 6,000.
Will the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter fit the newer 16-inch MacBook Pro A2485?
No, the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter is cut for the 2019 Intel model and is the wrong fit for the A2485. The A2485 is the 2021 Apple silicon 16-inch with a different display outline, so Mascom International stocks separate filters for it: a tab-mount version at KSh 5,000 and a magnetic version at KSh 6,000. A Touch Bar above the keyboard means you need this A2141 filter. A notch at the top of the display means you need an A2485 filter.
How well does the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter block side views?
The MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter keeps the display readable within a cone of about 60 degrees in front of you. From roughly 30 degrees off centre to the left or right, the screen turns dark and text becomes unreadable. That two-way privacy covers both seats beside you on a matatu, a flight or an office bench. Someone standing directly behind you can still see the display, so it guards against side glances rather than straight-behind viewing.
Does the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter help with glare and dust in Kenyan offices?
Yes, the matte face of the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter cuts reflections from windows and ceiling lights. That matters in bright Nairobi offices and in hot afternoon sun at a desk in Mombasa or Kisumu. The sheet also sits over the glass, so dust picked up during a dry-season commute settles on the filter instead, and the supplied cloth wipes it clean. Lift the filter off when you need a clear, full-brightness view for photo or video work.
How do I confirm my MacBook is an A2141 before ordering the privacy filter?
Turn the MacBook over and read the small print near the edge of the base, where the model number appears as Model A2141. In macOS, About This Mac shows MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2019 for the same machine. If the print is worn, send a photo of the base to Mascom International on WhatsApp at +254 708 852 521 and we confirm the match. You can also measure the lit screen area, width and height in millimetres, and send both figures before paying.
Will the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter leave residue on the display?
No, the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter mounts with slim tabs along the bezel, with no glue across the panel itself. It lifts off without residue whenever you want the full view, then goes back onto the same tabs. Wipe both the filter and the display with the supplied cloth if dust gets between them. If a tab loosens after months of daily use, bring the laptop to our Kimathi Street counter and our technicians will check the fit.
Is the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter worth KSh 5,000 in Kenya?
For anyone handling client data in public, the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter is worth the price. Over the 6-month warranty period alone, KSh 5,000 works out to about KSh 27 a day. Buyers throughout Kenya report that it stops strangers reading KRA iTax returns, M-Pesa statements and bank logins over their shoulder. One leaked salary schedule or tender figure can cost far more than the filter, and fitting at our counter is already included.
Who should buy the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter, and who should skip it?
Buy the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 Privacy Filter if you work on confidential files on a 2019 Intel 16-inch MacBook Pro in shared or public spaces. Lawyers, accountants, HR officers and bank staff gain the most. Skip it if you often present to people seated around one screen, because anyone to your side sees a dark panel. Owners of the 2021 A2485 should pick one of its two dedicated filters, and Windows laptop owners should choose a filter matched to their measured panel.
Technical Specifications
Core Function
- Micro-louver privacy film — tiny vertical blinds inside the sheet let light travel straight out but block it at an angle.
- Readable cone of about 60 degrees — you see the full display normally while seated directly in front of the laptop.
- Dark from roughly 30 degrees off centre — neighbours on either side see a black panel instead of your documents.
- Two-way privacy, left and right — both seats beside you are covered on a bus, a flight or an office bench.
- Matte anti-glare face — reflections from windows and ceiling lights are softened, so text stays easier to read in bright rooms.
- Removable at any time — lift it off for a full, bright view when editing photos or sharing the display.
Compatibility
- Cut for the MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 — the Intel model Apple sold from late 2019, with a Touch Bar above the keyboard.
- Identified by the base print — the words Model A2141 appear in small text on the underside of the laptop.
- About This Mac label — macOS lists this machine as MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2019, a quick second check before ordering.
- Not for the A2485 — the 2021 16-inch model has its own tab-mount and magnetic filters at Mascom International.
- Unsure of the fit — send your A-number or the measured lit screen area in millimetres to our WhatsApp line first.
Build
- Slim mounting tabs along the bezel — the sheet holds in place with no glue spread across the display panel.
- Residue-free removal — the filter lifts away cleanly, leaving the original glass as it was before fitting.
- Black frame colour — the edges blend with the dark bezel of the MacBook Pro instead of drawing attention.
- Covers the display glass — dust and fingerprints land on the filter surface, which is easier to wipe than the panel.
- Thin, light sheet — adds almost nothing to the laptop when it travels in a bag or sleeve.
- Brand new, unbranded construction — a generic filter built to this laptop's size, with no logo on the face.
Inclusions
- Free fitting at our Kimathi Street counter — Mascom International technicians align and mount the filter when you bring the laptop in.
- Self-fitting option — delivered orders arrive with the mounting tabs, so you can attach the filter at home or the office.
- Cleaning cloth supplied — removes dust and smudges from both the filter and the display without scratching.
- 6-month warranty — covers manufacturing defects, with claims handled at our Nairobi CBD service desk.
- Pay-on-arrival delivery — you inspect the filter before paying anywhere in Kenya's 47 counties.
