Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner | Compatible With HP CF533A | Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180n M181fw | 900 Page HP Rated Yield
Reds, pinks and purples for flyers, posters and event programmes.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International stocks the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner at KSh 2,950, a compatible cartridge for the magenta position in HP printers that take the HP CF533A. Lightwave produces it as an alternative to HP's own supply, and the cartridges on our shelf are brand new and sealed. HP's rated figure for its original CF533A is about 900 pages, a useful guide when you budget for refills. Pick up the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or ask Mascom International to deliver it to your office.
Built for sales teams, event organisers, salons, restaurants and small print shops across Kenya, the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner produces the reds, pinks and purples in promotional work. A price list with red offers, a wedding programme or a church crusade poster can lean heavily on magenta, which is why it sometimes empties ahead of the other colours. Once it does, an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180n or M181fw refuses to finish colour jobs. A fresh Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner gets the flyers moving again the same afternoon, without the cost of a full replacement set.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops push four-colour packs on every customer, Mascom International lets you buy the single colour that has run out. Black, cyan and yellow are stocked as separate products at the same price, and a full set of four totals KSh 11,800. Buyers throughout Kenya report that this approach saves them money during busy seasons such as school openings and Christmas sales. Visit our Kimathi Street counter with the empty cartridge for a code check, or send a WhatsApp message and pay by M-Pesa when the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner arrives.
Common Questions About the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner
How much does the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner cost in Kenya?
Mascom International sells the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner for KSh 2,950 in Nairobi CBD, as a sealed compatible cartridge. The price includes one magenta cartridge, 6 months of warranty cover for manufacturing defects and pay-on-arrival delivery to all 47 counties. The black, cyan and yellow cartridges are separate products, also KSh 2,950 each, and the four together total KSh 11,800. If only magenta shows low on your printer panel, this single cartridge is all you need.
Which colour runs out first in an HP M180n?
In an HP M180n, the colour that empties first depends on what your office prints, and magenta often goes early in shops that produce red-heavy promotions. Text documents drain black fastest. Price lists, sale posters and invitations with red, pink or maroon artwork pull hard on the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner. Check the supplies status on the printer panel each month, so you can order the colour that is running low before it stalls a job.
Is the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner good for printing flyers and posters?
Yes, the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner handles everyday promotional flyers, A4 posters and event programmes printed on an HP 205A laser printer. Laser output dries instantly, so you can stack and hand out a fresh batch of flyers at a Nakuru market or a campus event without smearing. Large solid red areas use toner quickly, so expect fewer pages from flyer runs than from text. For glossy, thick or oversized marketing pieces, a commercial print shop remains the better option.
How does the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner differ from the HP CF533A?
The Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner is a lower-cost compatible cartridge, while the HP CF533A is HP's original magenta with its own branding and a rated yield of about 900 pages. Both slide into the same magenta slot of the same HP printers. Lightwave does not publish a yield figure, so Mascom International does not quote one. The HP CF533A suits printers under HP service contracts and studios matching client colours closely. The Lightwave cartridge suits daily promotional printing on a tight budget.
Why do reds look different after I fit the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner?
Reds can shift slightly after fitting the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner, because a new toner from a different maker blends with the cyan, yellow and black already in the printer. Most HP colour laser printers offer a colour calibration option in their setup menu, and the HP user guide shows where to find it. Running it after a cartridge change often brings tones back into balance. Print a sample before a large job, especially when a logo red must look consistent.
Will boda boda delivery or a dusty office harm the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner?
A sealed Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner travels safely by boda boda, matatu parcel service or courier, because the bag and box protect it from dust and knocks. Problems usually start after the seal is broken. In dusty places like Industrial Area or roadside shops, keep the printer covers closed and open the cartridge only at the moment you fit it. Wipe the paper tray regularly, since grit on paper can mark pages and wear the printer rollers.
Will the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner fit an HP M154nw?
Yes, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M154nw takes the HP 205A cartridge family, so the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner fits its magenta slot. The M154nw is a print-only machine, while the M180n, M180fndw and M181fw add scanning and copying, yet all four use the same cartridges. To be certain, read the code on your current magenta cartridge, which should say CF533A. You can also send our team a WhatsApp photo of the label before ordering.
Who should buy the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner, and who should look elsewhere?
The Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner suits small businesses, schools, churches and print kiosks that run regular colour promotions on an HP 205A printer and want to control running costs. It is the wrong choice for graphic designers proofing exact brand reds for clients, or for offices whose HP service plan requires HP supplies. Those buyers are better served by the original HP CF533A. If your printer uses a different cartridge code, this cartridge will not fit.
Technical Specifications
Core Function
- Magenta laser toner cartridge — a Lightwave compatible supply built to replace the HP CF533A in printers that use HP 205A cartridges.
- Red family colour — magenta prints pinks on its own and combines with yellow for reds and oranges, or with cyan for purples.
- Typical work — sale flyers, menus, invitations, event programmes, salon price lists and red highlights in reports and charts.
- Reference yield — HP's own CF533A is rated at about 900 pages, measured with the ISO/IEC 19798 method for colour laser cartridges.
- Bought one at a time — KSh 2,950 covers the magenta cartridge alone, so a business restocks only the colour its work actually uses.
- Heat-fused output — toner bonds to the paper inside the printer, so flyers can be stacked and handed out straight from the tray.
Compatibility
- HP 205A magenta position — designed for printers whose magenta cartridge carries the code CF533A on its label.
- HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180n — a network all-in-one that prints, scans and copies, popular with small shops and offices.
- HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M181fw — adds fax and wireless printing, so a phone with a poster design can print it without a cable.
- HP Color LaserJet Pro M154nw — a print-only colour laser in the same 205A family, using the same magenta cartridge.
- HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180fndw — another 205A all-in-one that accepts this cartridge in its magenta slot.
- Firmware advice — some HP updates restrict third-party cartridges, so contact Mascom International before accepting a new firmware prompt.
Build and Handling
- Sealed in its own pack — every cartridge leaves our store in an unopened bag and box, never refilled or tampered with.
- Honest branding — the Lightwave name on the packaging marks it clearly as a compatible product rather than HP stock.
- Travel protection — the sealed wrap shields the toner from dust and moisture during delivery by courier, matatu or boda boda.
- Shelf storage — keep spares lying flat in a shaded, dry cupboard, well away from a sunny window or a warm photocopier exhaust.
- Pre-fit shake — rock the cartridge gently from side to side before inserting it, so early pages print with even colour.
- Roller care — grip the cartridge by its casing and avoid touching the drum or roller area, which marks easily.
Inclusions
- One Lightwave magenta cartridge — packed and sealed individually, ready to go straight into the magenta slot.
- 6-month warranty — protects against manufacturing defects, with claims handled at the Mascom International desk in Nairobi CBD.
- Pay-on-arrival delivery — offered across all 47 counties, with payment by M-Pesa or cash only once the parcel is in hand.

- Sister colours sold separately — black, cyan and yellow Lightwave 205A cartridges each have their own listing at KSh 2,950.
- Whole-set total — all four Lightwave 205A colours bought together come to KSh 11,800.
Package Contents
Inside the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner box is one Lightwave magenta toner cartridge in a sealed protective bag. Nothing else ships with it, and no extra parts are required, since the cartridge clips directly into the printer's magenta slot. The other three colours are not included and are ordered as their own products. If you are buying ahead for a busy season, keep this pack closed until the printer panel actually shows low magenta.
Warranty
Mascom International provides a 6-month warranty on the Lightwave 205A Magenta Toner, covering manufacturing defects under normal use. Should a cartridge fail in that period, return it with your receipt to our service desk at Old Mutual Building, Nairobi CBD, where our team handles the claim in person.
