Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e | 8GB RAM | 128GB SSD | 11.6-inch HD Touchscreen | 360-Degree Convertible
More memory lets pupils, students and home users keep several apps open without the slowdowns of cheaper models.
Condition: Used
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International stocks the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD at KSh 17,000, available today in clean used condition. This Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e doubles the memory of the entry version, so a browser, a video call and a document can stay open together without stalling. The 11.6-inch HD touchscreen sits on a hinge that turns all the way round into tablet, tent or stand positions. Lenovo designed the range for schools and colleges. Walk into our shop on the first floor of the Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, and try the exact unit.
Designed for university students, older pupils, small traders and home users, the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e 8GB handles assignments, Zoom tutorials, spreadsheets for a small shop and online banking. A common complaint from first-year students at Kenyatta University and JKUAT is a cheap laptop that freezes when a lecture stream and a research tab run at once. Extra memory is what fixes that. The 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e keeps more work loaded in the background, and the touchscreen makes reading PDFs or marking up slides in tablet position easy. It weighs about 1.5kg, light enough for a daily matatu commute.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops push unbranded mini laptops with no after-sales support, Mascom International sells a business-built ThinkPad with a written 6-month warranty. Buyers throughout Kenya report that the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e takes school-bag knocks that crack thinner consumer machines. At KSh 17,000, the 8GB model costs KSh 1,500 more than the 4GB version, and many families decide that small gap is worth paying for smoother multitasking. Visit Kimathi Street to fold the hinge and type on the keyboard yourself, or message us on WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery to your county.
Common Questions About the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e
How much is the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e 8GB in Kenya?
The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD sells for KSh 17,000 used at Mascom International, Kimathi Street, Nairobi. The price includes a tested compatible charger and cord plus a 6-month hardware warranty. Delivery is pay-on-arrival, so you inspect the laptop before any money changes hands. The 4GB version of the same model costs KSh 15,500, which makes this one KSh 1,500 dearer for double the memory.
Is the 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e used or refurbished, and how do the two differ?
The 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e at Mascom International is used, not refurbished. Each unit is a lightly used international import, never deployed locally in Kenya, and we test the touchscreen, hinge, keys and charging before sale. Refurbished stock has been restored by a manufacturer or certified workshop, usually with replaced parts. Because ports, keyboard layout and battery health vary between units, send us a WhatsApp message to confirm the details of the exact unit you want.
Is the 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e worth KSh 1,500 more than the 4GB version?
For most buyers, yes: the 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e handles twice the open work of the 4GB model for KSh 1,500 more. Both share the same body, screen, hinge and 128GB SSD. The difference shows when you keep a browser with many tabs, a Word file and a Zoom call running together. Memory on recent generations is soldered and cannot be added later. Choose the 4GB version only for a young child doing one task at a time.
Can I use the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e for M-Pesa statements, eCitizen and KRA iTax?
Yes, the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e runs every Kenyan government and banking website through a standard browser. You can download M-Pesa statements from the Safaricom portal, apply for a certificate of good conduct on eCitizen, and file returns on KRA iTax. The 8GB memory keeps those slow-loading portals open alongside your email and PDF files. Connect through home Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot on Safaricom, Airtel Kenya or Telkom, since the laptop has no SIM slot.
What processor should I expect in a used Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e 8GB?
The processor in a used Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e depends on the unit and the generation it came from. Lenovo fitted Yoga 11e units with Intel Celeron or Intel Core m3 or i3 chips over the model's life. These chips are built for low power use, so they suit documents, browsing and video calls rather than editing or gaming. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will send the system screen of the unit before you commit.
Is the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e good for a small business counter or kiosk?
The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e works well as a counter computer for a small shop, salon or chemist. It runs cloud point-of-sale tools, Excel stock sheets, QuickBooks Online and WhatsApp Web. The touchscreen lets staff tap entries quickly, and tent mode turns the screen toward a customer to show a receipt or catalogue. Most generations carry two USB-A ports for a receipt printer and barcode scanner. For heavy desktop accounting software, a Core i5 ThinkPad is the safer choice.
Who should buy the 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e and who should look elsewhere?
The 8GB Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e fits university students, secondary pupils, small traders and home users who want a durable touch laptop under KSh 20,000. It is not for architecture or design students who need CAD tools, video editors or Adobe software, and it will not run modern games. Those buyers should consider the Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1 at Mascom International, which offers a Core i5 8th Gen chip, a 256GB SSD and a 13.3-inch FHD touchscreen for KSh 29,000.
Does the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e work as a tablet for reading and handwritten notes?
Yes, fold the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e flat and it becomes an 11.6-inch touch tablet for e-books, PDFs and past papers. The keyboard switches off automatically in tablet position, so stray key presses stop. Some units have a garaged slot for a ThinkPad pen, which allows handwritten notes in OneNote; a pen is not included, so ask about pen support for the unit you choose. At about 1.5kg it is heavier than a dedicated tablet, best held on a desk or lap.

- Tested compatible charger in the package — plug in at night for a full day of classes.
- USB-C power input on newer generations — compatible power banks can top up the battery during outages.
Build, Durability and Ports
- Passed MIL-STD-810G tests — US military checks for shock, vibration and temperature extremes.
- About 1.5kg and 22.5mm thick on the 5th Gen — easy to carry between lecture halls.
- Two USB-A ports — plug in a mouse, flash disk, printer or barcode scanner without adapters.
