Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC | Active Noise Cancellation | 50-Hour Battery with Case | Bluetooth 5.4 | IP54 Rated
An affordable way to shut out traffic, lecture-hall chatter and office hum on a modest budget.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International stocks the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC at KSh 8,300, bringing active noise cancellation, Bluetooth 5.4 and up to 50 hours of total listening to the entry-level price band. Our units arrive brand new and sealed, and you can collect yours from Old Mutual Building on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. The Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC uses 10mm dynamic drivers, weighs just 4.3g per earbud and carries an IP54 rating on the buds. A USB-C charging case holds most of that runtime, so the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC goes days between sessions at the wall socket.
Designed for university students, young professionals and anyone who spends hours on public transport, the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC handles lectures, calls and long playlists without demanding a big budget. Picture a student at the University of Nairobi revising in a noisy hostel, or a logistics coordinator in Industrial Area fielding calls beside loading bays. Most buds at this price leave you turning the volume up to compete with the racket around you. Here, the noise cancellation lowers that background so speech and music come through at a safer, more comfortable level.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell earbuds with no receipt and no local backing, Mascom International gives the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC a 12-month warranty claimable at our CBD service desk. At Mascom International, we're seeing steady demand from parents buying for students heading back to campus, and the long battery is the feature they ask about first. Walk in to compare it side by side with other Huawei earbuds, or send a WhatsApp message and pay on arrival when it reaches you. Delivery inside Nairobi happens on the same day you order.
Common Questions About the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC
What is the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC price in Kenya?
The Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC sells for KSh 8,300 at Mascom International, Kimathi Street, Nairobi, as a sealed retail unit. The price includes two earbuds, the USB-C charging case, three pairs of ear tips and 12 months of warranty cover, with pay-on-arrival delivery across Kenya. For KSh 3,300 less, the Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 costs KSh 5,000 but drops noise cancellation. Stepping up KSh 5,700 gets you the Huawei FreeBuds 7i at KSh 14,000, with a larger driver and adaptive cancellation.
Is the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC worth the extra KSh 3,300 over the Huawei FreeBuds SE 2?
Yes, if you travel by bus or study in noisy rooms, because the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC adds active noise cancellation that the Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 lacks. It also seals inside your ear with silicone tips, while the Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 rests in the outer ear with an open, semi-in-ear fit. Battery life rises from 40 hours with the case to 50 hours with ANC off. Choose the Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 if you prefer an open fit and mostly listen at home or in quiet offices.
How do the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC cope with Kenya's dust, heat and sweat?
The Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC earbuds carry an IP54 rating, meaning they resist dust and splashing water from any direction. That covers sweat on a hot afternoon in Mombasa, a dusty walk along a murram road and a light drizzle on the way home. The charging case has no water protection, so dry the buds before you drop them back in. Wipe the ear tips weekly, since dust and earwax build up quickly in dry seasons and can muffle the sound.
Will the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC battery last a trip from Nairobi to Mombasa?
Yes, the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC lasts up to 7 hours per charge with noise cancellation on, enough for most SGR journeys from Nairobi to Mombasa. Switch ANC off and a single charge stretches to 10 hours. The case refills the buds several times, taking the total to 35 hours with ANC or 50 hours without. Calls draw more power, at up to 5 hours per charge with ANC on and 6 hours with it off.
Can I play mobile games on the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC?
You can, and the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC offers gaming latency reduction when paired with a Huawei phone or tablet running EMUI 10.0, HarmonyOS 2.0 or later. Lower latency keeps footsteps and gunfire in sync with the screen in titles such as PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile. On Samsung, Tecno or iPhone handsets the mode is not available, so expect a small delay. That delay suits casual games and video better than competitive shooters.
How long does the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC take to charge?
The charging case refills the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC earbuds in about 60 minutes, while an empty case needs about 110 minutes on a USB-C cable. Charging the case with the earbuds inside also takes about 110 minutes. Plug it in overnight or at your desk in the morning, and you rarely think about it again for days. When the power goes off, a USB-C power bank charges the case exactly the way a wall adapter does.
Are the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC comfortable for small ears?
Each earbud weighs only 4.3g, so the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC sits lightly, and the box includes small, medium and large silicone tips. A good seal matters twice here: it keeps the buds steady and lets the noise cancellation do its job. Try the small tip first if the medium feels tight after an hour. Teenagers and adults with narrow ear canals often settle on the smaller size, and you can test all three in our shop before buying.
Who should buy the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC, and who should skip it?
The Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC is right for students, commuters and first-time buyers who want noise cancellation for under KSh 10,000. It is not the pair for listeners chasing fuller sound and adaptive cancellation; the Huawei FreeBuds 7i at KSh 14,000 adds an 11mm quad-magnet driver and Dynamic ANC 4.0. People who dislike anything inside the ear canal should pick the open-ear Huawei FreeClip at KSh 24,000 instead. If you mainly want fitness and sleep data, the Huawei Watch GT 6 serves you better than earbuds.
Technical Specifications
Audio Hardware
- 10mm dynamic driver — a driver this size moves enough air for solid bass and clear vocals from a small, light earbud.
- Frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz — spans the full range most adult ears can hear, from deep bass notes to cymbals.
- Active noise cancellation — the earbuds detect outside sound and play an opposing signal, lowering engine rumble and crowd hum.
- Call noise cancellation — filters background sound around your voice so callers hear you rather than the street behind you.
- Multi-EQ sound profiles — switch between preset tunings to suit podcasts, gospel, Afrobeats or film soundtracks from the companion settings.
Wireless Connectivity
- Bluetooth 5.4 — a current Bluetooth standard that holds a stable connection and draws less power over hours of use.
- SBC, AAC and mSBC codecs — SBC works with every phone, AAC suits iPhone and many Android phones, and mSBC carries clearer voice calls.
- Proximity pairing — a Huawei phone or tablet on EMUI 10.0 or HarmonyOS 2.0 shows a connection card once you open the case nearby.
- Gaming latency reduction — on supported Huawei devices, sound reaches your ears faster, keeping audio in step with on-screen action.
- Universal Bluetooth support — Samsung, Tecno, Infinix, Oppo and iPhone handsets pair through the regular Bluetooth menu for music and calls.
Battery
- 41mAh cell per earbud — up to 10 hours of music with ANC off and up to 7 hours with ANC on.
- 510mAh charging case — total listening reaches 50 hours with ANC off, or 35 hours with ANC running.
- Call time up to 6 hours per charge with ANC off — 30 hours in total with the case for heavy phone users.
- Case refills the earbuds in about 60 minutes — plug in during lunch and they are ready for the afternoon.
- USB Type-C charging port — the reversible connector found on most current Android phones, so you can share one cable.
Build and Durability
- IP54 rated earbuds — sealed against dust and water splashes, so sweat and drizzle cause no harm during normal use.
- Earbud weight of 4.3g each — light enough to wear through a long lecture or shift without pressure building in the ear.
- Case weighing 36g and measuring 46.5 x 61.8 x 24.7mm — flat and compact enough for jeans or a small handbag.
- White or Black finish — two neutral colours that suit office wear and are easy to keep looking clean.
- Case without water protection — keep it in a dry pocket and away from spilled tea or water at the office.
Controls and Inputs
- Double-tap — play or pause music, and answer or end calls, with one quick gesture on either earbud.
- Triple-tap — moves to the next track by default, or back a track if you change the setting.
- Touch and hold — switches ANC modes by default; you can reassign it to volume control or a voice assistant.
- Touch and hold during a ringing call — rejects the call without taking your phone out of your bag.
- Hall effect sensor — notices when the case lid opens, which helps trigger the quick pairing prompt on Huawei devices.
