HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery | 10.8V Lithium-Ion | Fits ProBook 4530s 4535s 4540s and 4430s | Replacement Battery
Keep an older office workhorse going through blackouts, matched to your machine before dispatch.
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International stocks the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery at KSh 3,000, a brand new 10.8V lithium-ion replacement for the ProBook 4530s and 4535s. The HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery follows the PR06 format HP used on its 2011 and 2012 ProBook range, so it drops straight into the bay of matching laptops. It is a compatible replacement pack sold as a part. Walk into our shop at Old Mutual Building, First Floor, Kimathi Street, in Nairobi CBD, or send us the code printed on your old battery on WhatsApp and we will confirm the match before you buy.
Designed for teachers, sales teams, accountants and students at JKUAT and other campuses who still carry a ProBook 4530s, this pack fixes a battery that no longer holds a charge. After a few years, the old cells wear down until the laptop shuts off the second the cord comes out. That makes every KPLC blackout a risk to unsaved work. The HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery gives the laptop back its unplugged hours, so you can type through an outage, present in a boardroom with no socket nearby, or answer email on a long matatu ride home. Office managers can restore several laptops at once.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that guess at compatibility, Mascom International checks the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery against your laptop before it leaves the shop. Buyers throughout Kenya report that the ProBook 4520s and 4530s look alike, which leads to the wrong pack being bought elsewhere. We prevent that mix-up by reading the model sticker with you. Order the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery for pay-on-arrival delivery to any county, or pay by M-Pesa or cash at our Kimathi Street counter after the fit check.
Common Questions About the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery
What is the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery price in Kenya?
The HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery sells for KSh 3,000, brand new, at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. You get one 10.8V replacement pack backed by a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects. No charger comes with it, because your current HP adapter charges it through the laptop. Pay on arrival with delivery across Kenya, or pay at the counter once our team has checked the fit. It costs the same as the ProBook 4520s battery, so choose by model, not price.
Which ProBook models take the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery?
The HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery fits HP laptops built for the PR06 battery, led by the ProBook 4530s and 4535s. Retailers also list it for the ProBook 4330s, 4331s, 4430s, 4431s, 4435s, 4436s, 4440s, 4441s, 4445s, 4446s, 4536s, 4540s and 4545s. Look for PR06, 633805-001, QK646AA or HSTNN-LB2R on your old battery's label. Any of those codes means this pack is the right one. If the label has faded, the sticker under the laptop names the model.
Should I buy the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery or the HP ProBook 4520s Laptop Battery?
Buy the pack that matches your laptop, because the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery and the 4520s battery are not interchangeable. Both cost KSh 3,000 at Mascom International. The 4530s pack uses the PR06 shape introduced with HP's 2011 ProBook range, while the 4520s pack uses the earlier PH06 shape, which will not lock into a 4530s bay. A ProBook 4530s, 4535s or 4540s needs this one. A ProBook 4520s, 4320s or HP 620 needs the 4520s pack instead.
Can the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery keep me working through a KPLC blackout?
Yes, a healthy HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery keeps the laptop running when KPLC power drops, instead of letting it switch off mid-task. How long it lasts depends on screen brightness and workload. Many Kenyan homes and offices rely on solar or inverter backup, and both work fine for charging through the HP adapter. Plug the adapter into a surge protector, since voltage spikes when power returns can damage adapters. Save your work early once an outage starts.
Why does my ProBook 4530s say "consider replacing your battery"?
That Windows warning means the battery in your ProBook 4530s has lost much of its original capacity and can no longer hold a useful charge. It points to worn cells, not a fault with the laptop itself. Fitting the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery clears the warning, because Windows reads the fresh pack's full capacity. If the warning stays with a new pack, the laptop's charging circuit may need a technician, so bring it to our Nairobi CBD shop for a look.
Who should buy the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery, and who should skip it?
The HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery is for anyone whose ProBook 4530s or 4535s still runs Windows, Office and a browser well but cannot last off the charger. Schools, SACCOs and small offices with several of these laptops get the most value. Skip it if you own a ProBook 4520s, which takes the PH06 pack, or a newer ProBook G-series model. If your laptop is slow even when plugged in, a used business laptop from Mascom International is the better upgrade.
Is the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery the same as a PR09 battery?
No, the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery follows the standard PR06 format, while PR09 is HP's larger extended pack for the same laptops. Both slide into the same battery bay and use the same connector. The extended version sticks out from the back of the laptop and adds weight, which some buyers dislike in a laptop bag. The standard pack sits flush with the body. If your old battery carried a PR09 label, this pack still fits your laptop.
Will the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery work if my laptop runs Windows 10 or Linux?
Yes, the HP ProBook 4530s Laptop Battery works with any operating system the laptop runs, including Windows 7, Windows 10 and Linux. The battery talks to the laptop's own hardware, not to the operating system, so no driver or software is needed. Windows shows the charge level in the taskbar as usual. Ubuntu and other Linux desktops read the pack the same way and show its percentage in the top bar.
Technical Specifications
Cell and Capacity
- 10.8V nominal voltage — the level the ProBook 4530s family is built to charge and run from, so the laptop accepts the pack normally.
- Lithium-ion cells — light for the energy they hold and free of memory effect, so short top-ups between classes or meetings do no harm.
- Brand new cells with zero charge cycles — the pack starts its life in your laptop instead of carrying wear from a previous owner.
- Charged by the laptop through your current HP adapter — no external charger, cradle or dock is needed to fill the pack.
- Capacity rating printed on the pack label — check it at the counter, and expect running time to vary with brightness and workload.
- Running time recovers to what the laptop offered when new — the biggest gains show on laptops whose old pack lasted only minutes.
Compatibility and Model Matching
- PR06 battery format — the code HP printed on standard packs for its 2011 and 2012 ProBook business range, which makes matching quick.
- Matches HP codes 633805-001, QK646AA, HSTNN-LB2R, HSTNN-IB2R and HSTNN-DB2R — any of these on your old label signals a fit.
- Main models are the ProBook 4530s and 4535s — the 15.6-inch business laptops this pack is listed under first.
- Also listed for the ProBook 4330s, 4331s, 4430s, 4431s, 4435s and 4436s — the 13-inch and 14-inch members of the same family.
- Also fits the ProBook 4440s, 4441s, 4445s, 4446s, 4536s, 4540s and 4545s from the following year's refresh of the range.
- Not for the ProBook 4520s, 4320s or HP 620 — those take the older PH06 pack, also stocked at Mascom International.
Build and Safety
- Standard flush-fit body — sits level with the base of the laptop, keeping the original profile and weight in your bag.
- Slide-in external design — locks into the bay under the laptop using the existing latch, with no screws, panels or tools.
- Charge reporting through the battery connector — the laptop reads remaining charge and warns you before the pack runs empty.
- Recessed terminals — the contacts sit inside the connector housing, shielding them from dust and accidental short circuits in a bag.
- Keep it below hot-car temperatures — heat shortens lithium battery life more than anything else, so avoid leaving the laptop in direct sun.
- Old packs belong in battery recycling — drop your worn battery at our Kimathi Street shop instead of household rubbish.
