Godfall Ascended Edition | PS5 Physical Disc | Fire and Darkness Expansion | Action RPG
Sealed looter-slasher for PlayStation 5 with Lightbringer mode, Valorplate armour and extra gold cosmetics
Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Godfall Ascended Edition is in stock at Mascom International for KSh 6,500, as a brand new and sealed PlayStation 5 game disc. Counterplay Games developed it and Gearbox Publishing released it, and it plays as a third-person action RPG built around melee combat and loot. The Godfall Ascended Edition bundles the full base game with the Fire & Darkness expansion, the free Lightbringer update and a set of gold cosmetics. Collect your copy from our store at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order it for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.
The Godfall Ascended Edition suits PS5 owners who enjoy fighting through missions for better weapons, armour and stat rolls rather than following a long story. Students sharing a console in a hostel, office workers who play after the evening matatu ride home, and gaming lounge operators wanting a co-op title all fit here. This edition also fixes a common problem with older games: buying the base disc, then paying again for the expansion. Here the Fire realm, its new bosses and the extra endgame modes come in one box. You install once and start with every piece of content Gearbox released.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya, Mascom International tells you plainly where the Godfall Ascended Edition stands today. Godfall first launched alongside the PlayStation 5 in November 2020, and Counterplay Games closed at the end of 2024, so no further patches or content are coming. The game launched with an internet requirement, so read our online answer below before you order. Buyers throughout Kenya tell us they prefer a sealed disc they can lend, swap or resell, which a digital download never allows. Message us on WhatsApp, visit the Kimathi Street store, or order the Godfall Ascended Edition online for delivery to any of the 47 counties.
Common Questions About the Godfall Ascended Edition
How much is the Godfall Ascended Edition PS5 disc in Kenya?
The Godfall Ascended Edition PS5 disc costs KSh 6,500 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD, as a factory-sealed copy. That price covers the base game, the Fire & Darkness expansion and the Ascended cosmetics, so you never buy the expansion separately. It also includes the 6-month disc warranty set out below and pay-on-arrival delivery. You pay in cash or by M-Pesa only when the parcel reaches you, and Nairobi orders arrive the same day.
What does the Godfall Ascended Edition include?
The Godfall Ascended Edition includes the full base game, the Fire & Darkness expansion, the free Lightbringer update and a cosmetics pack. Gearbox lists the extras as three gold variant cosmetics, five weapon cosmetics, a gold shield variant, a co-op banner, a custom lobby nameplate and an orange Vertigo variant. Fire & Darkness adds five new bosses, more than 10 new enemy types and over 20 Valorplate skins. Some content may unlock through a download after your first sign-in, so connect the console during setup.
Do the Godfall Ascended Edition online servers still work in 2026?
Godfall support has ended, and Mascom International cannot promise how long its online services will keep running. The game launched with an always-online requirement, meaning even solo play needed an internet connection at release. Counterplay Games closed at the end of 2024, so nobody is updating Godfall any more. Before you order, WhatsApp +254 708 852 521 and ask us to confirm whether the game currently connects. If it does, a steady Safaricom Home Fibre, Zuku or Faiba line handles solo play and co-op.
Godfall Ascended Edition vs Deluxe Edition, which should you choose?
Both editions carry the same missions, bosses and loot, because each includes the base game, Lightbringer and Fire & Darkness. The gaps are price and cosmetics. Gearbox launched the Ascended Edition at US$69.99 against US$59.99 for the Deluxe Edition, and only the Ascended version adds three gold variants and five weapon cosmetics. A standard 2020 Godfall disc lacks the expansion entirely, which Gearbox priced at US$19.99 alone. Choose the Godfall Ascended Edition for a disc with every extra included.
Will the Godfall Ascended Edition disc work on a PS5 Digital Edition or a PS4?
The Godfall Ascended Edition disc plays on any PS5 console with a working disc drive. Digital Edition and Pro consoles can read it once fitted with Sony's add-on Disc Drive, but a Digital Edition without that drive cannot. A PS4 cannot run it at all, because this is the PS5 version of the game. Gearbox released a separate PS4 version of Godfall in 2021, so PS4 owners need that disc instead of this one.
Can you play the Godfall Ascended Edition in co-op with friends?
Yes, while its online services run, the Godfall Ascended Edition supports online co-op for up to three players. Gearbox added three-player matchmaking for the Ascended Tower of Trials and the Lightbringer endgame mode. Cross-generation play also lets PS5 and PS4 owners team up in the campaign and endgame. Online play on PS5 normally needs a PlayStation Plus membership. There is no split-screen, so each friend needs their own console, their own copy and their own internet connection.
How does the Godfall Ascended Edition cope with power cuts and dust at home?
A KPLC power cut mid-mission can cost the Godfall Ascended Edition progress made since the last save, and sudden shutdowns are hard on any console. Many Nairobi gamers run their PS5 through a UPS so it can power down cleanly during an outage. Look after the disc as well. Keep it in its case, away from dust and direct sun, because scratches stop Blu-ray games from reading. The console still checks the disc each time you start the game.
Who should buy the Godfall Ascended Edition, and who should skip it?
Buy the Godfall Ascended Edition if you enjoy loot-driven melee combat, replaying missions for better gear and testing builds in Lightbringer and the Tower of Trials. At KSh 6,500 it suits a PS5 owner growing a disc library on a modest budget. Skip it if you want a long, character-driven story, since critics found the plot thin: Push Square scored it 5 out of 10 and its Metacritic score sits at 61. Skip it too if your home internet drops often.
Technical Specifications
Game Overview and Release History
- Godfall is a third-person action RPG, often called a looter-slasher, where melee fights earn better weapons and armour.
- Counterplay Games developed the game and Gearbox Publishing released it, so both names appear on the cover.
- Godfall first launched in November 2020 as one of the earliest games built for the PlayStation 5.
- The Ascended Edition followed on 10 August 2021, the day Fire & Darkness and Lightbringer went live.
- Counterplay Games closed at the end of 2024, so the latest patch is the final version you will install.
- The story follows the knight Orin as he fights his brother Macros across a series of elemental realms.
Edition Content and Extras
- The full base game comes with every free update, including Lightbringer, so nothing from the original release is missing.
- The Fire & Darkness expansion, which Gearbox sold separately at US$19.99, is part of this edition at no extra cost.
- Three gold variant cosmetics change how your Valorplate armour looks without changing difficulty or progression.
- Five weapon cosmetics and a gold shield variant let you restyle your gear between missions.
- A co-op banner and a custom lobby nameplate show other players which edition you brought.
- An orange Vertigo variant completes the Ascended extras listed by Gearbox for this edition.
Fire and Darkness Expansion
- New story missions and cutscenes take the campaign into the Fire realm, adding hours beyond the base game.
- The Fire realm is built from obsidian peaks and azure magma rivers, a clear change from earlier areas.
- Five new bosses and more than 10 new enemy types arrive, led by Moirax and the Flameblood Tribe.
- Over 20 new Valorplate skins widen the armour looks available to every build you create.
- Fire realm content also reaches Dreamstones, the Tower of Trials and the Lightbringer endgame modes.
Lightbringer and Endgame Modes
- Lightbringer mode asks your party to close up to three Tears while dark forces attack throughout.
- After each Tear you may accept curses, which make enemies stronger but raise the final reward.
- The last phase throws unusual enemy combinations at you, testing builds that coasted through the main campaign.
- More than 40 new loot items came with the update, including a Cursed tier that grants a large boon.
- Three-player PvE matchmaking covers the Ascended Tower of Trials and Lightbringer while online services remain available.
PlayStation 5 Features
- As a PS5 launch title, the game installs from disc to the console's internal SSD for short loading times.
- The DualSense controller's haptic feedback is supported, so different weapons and impacts feel distinct in your hands.
- Adaptive trigger support adds resistance to certain actions, a feature only the DualSense controller offers.
- Cross-generation play lets PS5 owners join PS4 players in both the campaign and the endgame modes.
- Trophies record to your PlayStation Network profile, so completion progress follows your account to any PS5.
Disc Format and Compatibility
- Requires a PS5 with a disc drive; Digital Edition consoles need Sony's add-on Disc Drive to read it.
- PlayStation 5 games carry no region lock, so the disc runs on consoles bought locally or abroad.
- The disc must stay in the console to start the game, even after the full install finishes.
- Patches and unlocked edition content download over the internet, so allow for a data download on first setup.
- This disc does not play on PS4, because the PS4 version of Godfall is a separate release.
- The age rating is printed on the cover, so check it before buying the game as a gift.
