Control is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 4,300 as a brand new and sealed PS4 physical disc. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, Control first launched on PS4 on 27 August 2019 and remains a single-player, third-person action adventure. You play Jesse Faden, the new director of the Federal Bureau of Control, inside a building that is larger inside than outside. This disc is the standard edition of the base game. Collect it at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or order it for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya.

Designed for players who want a story they can finish alone, Control handles long evening sessions without any online subscription. Office workers in Upper Hill and Westlands who game for an hour after the matatu ride home can save at Control Points and pick up later. University students at USIU, Moi and the University of Nairobi get a campaign that runs without home Wi-Fi or mobile data. Many modern action games lock progress behind constant connections. Control keeps the whole adventure on the disc, so a weak network or a KPLC power cut that knocks out the router never stops your play.

Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell loose second-hand discs with worn cases, Mascom International sells Control factory sealed, so the disc arrives clean and unplayed. Buyers throughout Kenya report that a sealed single-player game makes a safe gift, because nobody needs an account or a subscription to enjoy it. At KSh 4,300, Control costs KSh 50 more than DOOM Eternal at KSh 4,250 and KSh 400 more than Borderlands 3 at KSh 3,900 in our current PS4 range. Visit our Kimathi Street store to collect it, or order on WhatsApp and pay once it reaches you.

Common Questions About Control

How much is the Control PS4 disc in Kenya?
Control for PS4 costs KSh 4,300 brand new and sealed at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. The price covers the physical disc of the standard edition in its retail case, plus a 6-month warranty against disc manufacturing defects. Delivery is pay-on-arrival, so you settle by cash or M-Pesa once the parcel is with you. Control is single-player, so you pay nothing extra for a subscription to finish the campaign. It sits KSh 50 above DOOM Eternal in our PS4 range.

Is the Control disc the standard edition or the edition with both expansions?
This Control disc is the standard edition, which holds the full base game and its main campaign. Remedy later released The Foundation and AWE as paid expansions, and a separate edition bundled both with the base game. Those expansions are not on this disc. You can buy them through the PlayStation Store if your account allows it. If you specifically want the bundled edition, message Mascom International on WhatsApp before ordering so we can confirm what we hold.

Does the Control PS4 disc play on a PS5?
Yes, the Control PS4 disc plays on a PS5 with a disc drive through backward compatibility, running as the PS4 version of the game. A PS5 Digital Edition needs the add-on disc drive before it can read any disc. Remedy offered a free upgrade to the PS5 version only to owners of the bundled edition, so do not count on that upgrade with this standard disc. For most players, the PS4 version on a PS5 still delivers the complete campaign.

Should I buy Control or DOOM Eternal?
Pick Control if you want a slower, mysterious story where exploring rooms and reading files matter as much as fighting. Pick DOOM Eternal if you want fast, nonstop demon combat and an online mode to play against friends. Control is third-person and single-player only, while DOOM Eternal is first-person with an optional 2 versus 1 online mode. At Mascom International the two cost almost the same, KSh 4,300 for Control and KSh 4,250 for DOOM Eternal, so choose by play style.

Do I need PlayStation Plus or internet to play Control in Kenya?
No, Control needs neither PlayStation Plus nor a constant internet connection, because it has no online multiplayer. The entire campaign runs from the disc and your PS4 storage. An internet link only helps for downloading game updates, and a Safaricom, Airtel Kenya or Telkom fibre line handles those comfortably. That matters in Kenya, where Sony does not list the country as a supported PlayStation Network region. Control works fully offline once installed, even during KPLC outages if your console has backup power.

Who should buy Control and who should skip it?
Control suits PS4 owners who enjoy strange stories, puzzle-like exploration and combat that mixes a shape-shifting gun with mind powers. Writers, journalists and anyone who reads mysteries will enjoy the documents and recordings scattered through the building. Skip it if you mainly want online play with friends or quick rounds between errands. For co-op shooting with friends online, Borderlands 3 at KSh 3,900 from the same Mascom International range is the better fit.

How does combat work in Control?
Combat in Control mixes the Service Weapon, a gun that changes into different forms, with psychokinetic powers Jesse gains through Objects of Power. You can equip two weapon forms at once and switch between close-range blasts and long-range shots. Powers include Launch, Evade, Shield, Seize and Levitate, and some are optional finds. There is no cover system, so you keep moving, alternate gun and powers on separate cooldowns, and upgrade abilities with Ability Points.

How long is the Control campaign?
Control is built around a 10-act main campaign and 18 side quests spread across four sectors of the Oldest House. The building has a nonlinear layout, so new abilities open areas you passed earlier, much like classic Metroidvania games. Control Points work as save spots and fast travel, which helps when a session ends suddenly. Playing time depends on how much you explore, so plan on many evenings rather than one weekend if you chase every side quest.

Technical Specifications

Core Function and Gameplay
  • Genre is a third-person action adventure from Remedy Entertainment — you see Jesse Faden on screen as you move and fight.
  • The Service Weapon changes into different forms, with two equipped at a time — swap between close-range blasts and long-range precision shots.
  • Psychokinetic abilities include Launch, Evade, Shield, Seize and Levitate — throw objects, dash, block fire, turn enemies and float above fights.
  • Two separate cooldown systems drive combat — while the gun recharges, your powers carry the fight, so you stay on the attack.
  • Mods and Ability Points let you shape your build — favour heavy weapon damage or lean on psychokinetic powers instead.
  • No cover system is used — combat rewards moving, dodging and throwing debris rather than hiding behind walls.

Story, Setting and Structure
  • Setting is the Oldest House, a Brutalist skyscraper in New York that serves as headquarters for the fictional Federal Bureau of Control.
  • Story follows Jesse Faden, the Bureau's new director, searching for her missing brother Dylan while battling a hostile force called the Hiss.
  • The main campaign runs across 10 acts, with 18 side quests adding optional missions throughout the building.
  • Four sectors connect in a nonlinear layout — new powers unlock earlier areas, so the map keeps opening as you progress.
  • Control Points act as save spots and fast travel — useful when a power cut or a call cuts a session short.

Compatibility and Online Requirements
  • Platform is PlayStation 4, including PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro — every PS4 model reads this disc.
  • Plays on a PS5 with a disc drive through backward compatibility, running as the PS4 version of the game.
  • A PS5 Digital Edition needs the add-on disc drive first — without it, the console cannot read physical discs.
  • Single-player only, so no PlayStation Plus membership is needed — the full campaign plays without any subscription.
  • No internet connection is required to play after installation — updates download over Wi-Fi when a connection is available.
  • Kenya is not a supported PlayStation Network region — Control's offline design means that limit does not affect your campaign.

Disc Build and Format
  • PS4 games ship on Blu-ray discs — the format every PS4 and every disc-drive PS5 reads.
  • Sealed retail case means the disc arrives untouched, with no scratches or fingerprints from earlier owners.
  • The game installs to console storage before play — keep free space on your PS4 hard drive for the install and patches.
  • A physical disc can be lent to a friend, traded or resold later, which a digital download cannot.
  • Installing from disc saves downloading the whole game, cutting the data cost compared with a digital purchase over mobile bundles.

Inclusions
  • Control game disc for PS4, standard edition — the full base game and main campaign.
  • Retail case — protects the disc on your shelf and during delivery.
  • The Foundation and AWE expansions are not included — they are paid add-ons sold separately.
  • No subscription or download code is included — none is needed, since the campaign plays fully offline.
  • Mascom International 6-month warranty — covers manufacturing defects in the disc.

Package Contents

Control arrives exactly as packed at the factory: the PS4 game disc of the standard edition inside its sealed retail case. Mascom International does not open or test-play sealed copies, so the seal you break at home is the original one. The two expansions, The Foundation and AWE, are not in the box and are not on the disc. You need no subscription code, because Control is fully playable offline from the moment it installs.

Warranty

Mascom International backs Control with a 6-month warranty covering manufacturing defects in the disc, such as a copy that will not read or install under normal use. Scratches, cracks or other damage after delivery are not covered. Claims are handled at our Nairobi CBD service desk.
