The Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 550, with USB-C plugs on both ends, 65W Power Delivery and a 1-metre nylon braided jacket. It fast charges USB-C phones, tablets and many thin laptops, and it moves files at up to 480Mbps, the USB 2.0 data rate. The Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable fits Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Tecno, Infinix and Redmi phones, the iPhone 15 and later, USB-C iPads and most current Ultrabooks. Pick one up at our shop in the Old Mutual Building, First Floor, on Kimathi Street in Nairobi CBD.
Designed for people who carry one charger for everything, the Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable handles a laptop at the office and a phone at night. Accountants in Upper Hill, developers in Kilimani and university students at JKUAT and USIU often juggle a USB-C laptop and a USB-C phone, yet keep buying separate cords. A 65W rating covers the charging needs of most thin laptops and every current phone, so one Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable can replace two or three cords in your bag. The braided nylon jacket resists the fraying that ruins thin plain cables after months of bending around a charger.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that sell USB-C cables with no rating printed anywhere, Mascom International stocks the Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable with its 65W and 480Mbps figures stated clearly. You know what it can charge before you pay, which saves a laptop owner from a cord that trickle-charges. Customers across Nairobi tell us they want one cable that keeps up with both their phone and their laptop charger. Collect the Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable in person to test it, or order on WhatsApp and pay on arrival anywhere in Kenya, from Nakuru to Mombasa.
Common Questions About the Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable
What is the Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable price in Kenya?
The Budi DC230TT USB-C Cable sells for KSh 550 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That buys a 1-metre braided USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 65W Power Delivery, plus a 6-month warranty on manufacturing defects. No wall adapter is in the box. Delivery is pay-on-arrival in all 47 counties. If you run a high-wattage gaming laptop, the Budi DC267TT USB-C Cable costs KSh 2,300, which is KSh 1,750 more, for a 240W rating and a 1.8-metre length.
Can the Budi DC230TT charge my laptop?
Yes, the Budi DC230TT charges any USB-C laptop that takes 65W or less through USB Power Delivery. That covers most thin business and student laptops, including the MacBook Air and many HP, Dell and Lenovo Ultrabooks with USB-C charging. Plug it into a 65W USB-C wall adapter and the laptop charges as it would on its own cord. Laptops that need more, such as gaming models and larger workstations, will charge slowly or not at all on a 65W cable.
Does the Budi DC230TT work with the iPhone 15 and newer iPhones?
Yes, the Budi DC230TT fits the iPhone 15 and every later iPhone, since Apple moved those models from Lightning to USB-C. With a 20W or higher USB-C adapter, these iPhones fast charge on it, and the same cable can then charge a USB-C iPad or MacBook. It also syncs photos with a computer at USB 2.0 speed. Owners of an iPhone 14 or earlier need a Lightning cable instead, such as the Budi DC230TL USB-C to Lightning Cable at Mascom International.
Should I choose the Budi DC230TT or the Budi DC267TT?
Choose the Budi DC230TT for phones, tablets and laptops up to 65W; choose the Budi DC267TT if your laptop needs more than 65W. The DC230TT is 1 metre long and costs KSh 550. The DC267TT is rated for 240W, runs 1.8 metres and has an aluminium alloy shell, at KSh 2,300. For a phone and a MacBook Air, the extra wattage adds nothing. For a gaming laptop or a 16-inch workstation, the DC267TT is the cable that can keep pace.
How fast does the Budi DC230TT transfer files?
The Budi DC230TT moves data at up to 480Mbps, the USB 2.0 standard, which works out to about 60MB per second at best. Real transfers run slower, so copying a few hundred photos or a folder of documents takes seconds to a minute or two. Moving a long 4K video library is where you will feel the limit. Content creators who shift large video files every day should pick a cable rated for 10Gbps or faster.
Can I use the Budi DC230TT with a car charger on Kenyan roads?
Yes, the Budi DC230TT works with any car charger that has a USB-C Power Delivery port, so you can charge on long drives. Taxi and ride-hailing drivers in Nairobi, and sales reps driving to Nakuru or Eldoret, use it to keep a phone running navigation all day. The 1-metre length reaches from the dashboard socket to a phone mount or the passenger seat. Coil it away from the windscreen when parked, since afternoon heat in a closed car is hard on any cable.
Will the Budi DC230TT connect my laptop to a monitor?
No, the Budi DC230TT does not carry a video signal, because a 480Mbps USB 2.0 cable lacks the high-speed wires that display output needs. It charges and syncs data, but it will not show your laptop screen on a monitor or TV. For a USB-C monitor or a docking station, buy a cable marked for video or 4K display support. Keep the DC230TT for charging the laptop and your phone, where it does the job well.
Who should buy the Budi DC230TT, and who should skip it?
Buy the Budi DC230TT if you own USB-C devices that charge at 65W or less and want one braided cable for all of them. It suits students, office workers, Android users and iPhone 15 owners. Skip it if your laptop needs more than 65W; the Budi DC267TT is the better fit there. Skip it too if you need video output to a monitor or fast transfers of large files, where a 10Gbps video-capable cable makes more sense.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Power Delivery
- 65W USB Power Delivery rating — enough to charge most thin laptops at full speed and any phone or tablet quickly.
- USB-C plugs at both ends — reversible connectors that go in either way, so there is no fumbling in the dark.
- Power matched by the device — your phone or laptop asks the charger for what it needs, so a 65W cable stays safe for small devices.
- Charge and sync together — one cable both powers a device and carries files between a phone and a computer.
- Up to 480Mbps data rate — the USB 2.0 standard, fine for photos, documents and backups, not built for huge video libraries.
- Charging only, no video — it will not send your laptop picture to a monitor, so use a video-rated cable for that.
Compatibility
- Android phones — Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Tecno, Infinix, Redmi, Oppo and other USB-C models charge and sync normally.
- iPhone 15 and later — every recent iPhone uses USB-C and fast charges on this cable from a 20W or higher adapter.
- USB-C tablets — USB-C iPads, Galaxy Tab models and other USB-C tablets charge and transfer files as on their original cords.
- Laptops up to 65W — MacBook Air and many HP, Dell and Lenovo Ultrabooks with USB-C charging take full speed through it.
- Accessories — USB-C earbuds cases, power banks, game controllers and portable speakers charge from the same cable.
- Higher-wattage laptops — gaming and workstation models that draw over 65W need a cable rated for more power.
Build and Durability
- Nylon braided jacket — woven fibres resist fraying and splitting where the cord bends near the plug every day.
- 1-metre length — long enough to reach a desk socket from a laptop, short enough to coil into a small pouch.
- Plug care — the joint where cable meets connector takes the most strain, so always pull by the plug, not the cord.
- Easy to keep clean — wipe road dust off the weave and blow lint from the USB-C plugs to keep contacts reliable.
- Heat care — keep it off sunny car dashboards and away from cooking heat, the two places cables age fastest.
