Mascom International stocks the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor at KSh 1,600, supplying 19V at 3.42A through a 4.0x1.35mm barrel connector. It is brand new and sealed, a replacement adaptor for ASUS laptops whose original charger carries a 65W rating on this slim round pin. The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor is ready for collection at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. Walk in with your laptop, plug it in at the counter, and leave only once you have watched the battery icon switch to charging.
Built for accountants, developers, estate agents and logistics coordinators who keep an ASUS open for most of the day, the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor answers a specific frustration. A worn or underpowered charger on a 65W laptop can leave the battery draining even while plugged in, especially with browser tabs, accounting software and a video call running together. The laptop then dies mid-task, often just before a deadline, client call or presentation. This adaptor delivers the full 3.42A these models are designed around, so the battery still climbs during a busy afternoon in Upper Hill or Industrial Area.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops push one generic charger for every ASUS, Mascom International reads your laptop's label and matches both the 3.42A rating and the 4.0mm pin. At Mascom International, we're seeing more customers bring in 65W ASUS laptops that were sold mismatched chargers elsewhere. The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor fixes that at KSh 1,600 with a 6-month warranty. Message us on WhatsApp with your model number, visit the shop on Kimathi Street in Nairobi CBD, or order with pay-on-arrival delivery. The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor reaches Nairobi buyers the same day.
Common Questions About the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor
How much is the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor in Kenya?
The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor costs KSh 1,600 brand new at Mascom International, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. You get the adaptor with its attached DC cable, a detachable mains cord and a 6-month warranty, and delivery is pay-on-arrival anywhere in Kenya. It is KSh 400 cheaper than the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor at KSh 2,000, even though it delivers more current through the same pin. The ASUS 40W 2.5mm Laptop Adaptor shares the KSh 1,600 price but uses a different connector.
Which ASUS laptops need the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor?
The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor is needed by ASUS laptops whose label or original charger reads 19V 3.42A with a 4.0x1.35mm round socket. These are often VivoBook and ZenBook models with stronger processors or larger screens than the thinnest 45W machines. The quickest check is the sticker on the old charger brick. If that is lost, send your laptop's full model number, printed under the base, to Mascom International on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the rating before you buy.
Should I choose the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor or the ASUS 45W 4.0mm adaptor?
Choose the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor if your laptop is rated 3.42A, because the ASUS 45W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor supplies only 2.37A and will struggle to charge it during heavy work. Both use 19V and the same 4.0x1.35mm pin. The 65W unit also runs 45W ASUS laptops safely, since a laptop takes only the current it needs. At KSh 1,600 against KSh 2,000, it is the better value for most buyers. The 45W unit suits anyone wanting an exact match to a 45W original.
Can the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor run on a UPS or inverter during KPLC outages?
Yes, the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor runs from a UPS or home inverter during KPLC outages, as long as the backup unit can supply about 65W on top of everything else plugged in. Pure sine wave inverters are the safest choice, since some cheaper modified sine wave models make adaptors run warm or hum. When mains power returns with a surge, a UPS or surge strip shields the adaptor. Many home offices in Kilimani and Kasarani already pair laptops with a small UPS for this reason.
Who should buy the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor, and who should skip it?
Buy the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor if your ASUS runs on 19V, takes the 4.0x1.35mm pin and draws up to 3.42A, or if you want one charger covering both 45W and 65W ASUS models on this pin. Offices with several ASUS laptops find it a handy shared spare. Skip it if your laptop charges by USB-C. Smaller ASUS models with the 2.5mm pin should look at the ASUS 40W 2.5mm Laptop Adaptor, and TUF or ROG gaming laptops need much larger chargers.
Why does my ASUS say plugged in, not charging, and will the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor fix it?
The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor fixes that message when the cause is a weak or underrated charger, which often happens after someone swaps a 45W unit onto a 65W laptop. If the full 3.42A supply still does not charge the battery, the battery or the laptop's charging port is more likely at fault. ASUS battery care settings can also cap charging at 60 or 80 percent on purpose, so check those first. Bring the laptop to Mascom International and we will test it.
Is the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor good for an office with several ASUS laptops?
The ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor suits offices well because one model powers both 45W and 65W ASUS laptops that share the 4.0x1.35mm pin. IT teams and office managers can keep a few spares and hand them to whoever forgets a charger, without tracking two charger types. Mascom International supplies business buyers across Nairobi, and larger orders can be quoted on WhatsApp or by email. Label each adaptor with a desk or staff name so units do not wander between departments.
How do I keep the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor working for longer?
Keep the ASUS 65W 4.0mm Laptop Adaptor working longer by protecting the two points where cable meets hardware: the brick end and the pin end. Never pull the plug out by the cable or wind it tightly around the brick. Let the brick sit in open air while charging, not under cushions or blankets. Pull the pin straight out of the laptop rather than levering it sideways, since the thin 4.0mm tip bends more easily than wider pins. During dusty months, wipe the tip with a dry cloth.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Power Output
- 19V output, the voltage ASUS VivoBook and ZenBook laptops on this pin are designed to accept from their charger.
- 3.42A output current, the full supply a 65W-rated ASUS needs to handle heavy work and charge at the same time.
- 65W total power, from 19 volts multiplied by 3.42 amps, the rating printed on the original charger label for these models.
- Accepts Kenya's 240V mains through the detachable cord, so it plugs straight into home, office or hostel sockets.
- Extra headroom over 45W units, so the battery keeps rising even with spreadsheets, browsers and video calls open together.
- Also powers 45W-rated ASUS laptops with the same pin, because a laptop draws only the current it requires.
Compatibility and Fit
- Matches ASUS laptops rated 19V 3.42A with a 4.0x1.35mm round socket, found on many VivoBook and ZenBook models.
- 4.0x1.35mm connector means a 4.0mm outer barrel around a 1.35mm centre opening, slimmer than older ASUS plugs.
- Works on lower-rated 19V ASUS laptops with the same socket, making it a flexible spare for offices with mixed models.
- Does not suit USB-C ASUS laptops, which need a USB-C charger that sets its power level over the cable.
- Not for laptops with the 2.5mm pin; those need a matching connector such as the ASUS 40W 2.5mm Laptop Adaptor.
- Share your model number or old adaptor label on WhatsApp and Mascom International confirms the fit before dispatch.
Build and Cable Design
- Two-piece brick, so the power unit sits apart from the wall and does not block neighbouring sockets on an extension.
- Fixed DC cable runs from the brick to the 4.0x1.35mm plug, leaving no loose joint at the adaptor end.
- Removable mains cord packs separately and can be replaced on its own if it gets damaged.
- Sealed plastic shell keeps dust and small spills away from the internal circuit on busy shared desks.
- Small enough to fit a laptop sleeve pocket for staff who split their week between office and home.
- Brand new and sealed stock, never refurbished, with clean insulation and an unworn pin.
Inclusions and Business Support
- One replacement adaptor for ASUS laptops with the DC cable permanently fixed to the brick.
- One detachable mains cord; plug type for Kenya's 3-pin UK sockets is confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.
- 6-month warranty, with claims handled at the Mascom International service desk in Nairobi CBD.
- In-store test on Kimathi Street: connect it to your own ASUS and see it charge before paying.
- Pay-on-arrival delivery across all 47 counties, so payment happens only once the adaptor reaches you.
- Business quotes for several units on WhatsApp or email, useful for offices running a fleet of ASUS laptops.
