Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
Mascom International stocks ARK Survival Evolved at KSh 3,700 as a brand new and sealed PlayStation 4 disc in its retail case. ARK Survival Evolved launched on PS4 in June 2017 from publisher Wildcard Properties, and it drops you on an island ruled by dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. You start with nothing, gather what you can, and decide whether to kill or tame each animal you meet. PlayStation lists it for 1-2 players, with up to 70 players online. Collect your copy at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Built for survival fans and groups of friends across Kenya, ARK Survival Evolved handles long, open-ended play where you set your own goals. Brothers sharing a PS4 in Kilimani, Moi University students who game in groups, and young professionals in Nakuru who log in with friends in Mombasa all find plenty to do. Many players get bored of games that end once the story is over. ARK Survival Evolved has no fixed ending, so every session brings a new hunt, a new creature to tame or a rival tribe to watch out for. Progress comes from what you build and tame yourself.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that stock loose or previously played discs, Mascom International sells ARK Survival Evolved factory-sealed, and you can check the wrap before paying. Customers across Nairobi tell us they choose the disc because a friend can borrow it later, and because it costs less than many newer releases. ARK Survival Evolved also plays on a PS5 with a disc drive through backward compatibility. Walk into our CBD store, or order on WhatsApp for pay-on-arrival delivery anywhere in Kenya, from Kisumu to Malindi.
Common Questions About the ARK Survival Evolved
How much is ARK Survival Evolved PS4 in Kenya?
ARK Survival Evolved costs KSh 3,700 at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD as a brand new, sealed PS4 disc. The price covers the game disc in its original retail case and a 6-month warranty against a faulty disc. Delivery is pay-on-arrival, so you inspect the seal before paying by cash or M-Pesa. Our Assassin's Creed Valhalla disc sells at KSh 4,000, which puts ARK Survival Evolved KSh 300 lower for gamers watching their budget.
Can I play ARK Survival Evolved online in Kenya, and do I need PS Plus?
Yes, ARK Survival Evolved supports online play with up to 70 players on PS4, and a PS Plus subscription is required for it. Without PS Plus, you can still play on your own console. For smooth online sessions, a wired or strong Wi-Fi link on Safaricom Home Fibre or Airtel home internet works better than mobile data. Online servers run continuously, so a shaky connection may cause lag when many players gather in one area.
Can two people play ARK Survival Evolved on one PS4?
PlayStation lists ARK Survival Evolved for 1-2 players on the PS4, so two people can enjoy it from one console setup. That suits siblings or roommates who own a single PS4 but want to play together on one television. You need a second DualShock 4 controller for the second player. If you only have one controller, Mascom International stocks spare DualShock 4 controllers at our Kimathi Street store, so you can buy both in one visit.
Does ARK Survival Evolved work on a PS5?
Yes, the ARK Survival Evolved PS4 disc plays on any PS5 that has a disc drive, through backward compatibility. Sony notes that your PS5 may need the latest system software, and some PS4 features may be missing when played this way. The PS5 Digital Edition has no disc drive, so it cannot read this disc. If you plan to move to a PS5 soon, choose the standard model with a disc slot so your game collection comes with you.
What happens to my ARK Survival Evolved progress during a KPLC power cut?
In solo play, ARK Survival Evolved saves your world to the console, so a KPLC outage can wipe any progress made since the last save. Get into the habit of saving often, especially after building or taming something valuable. On online servers, the world keeps running on the server side, but your character may sit unprotected while you are disconnected. A small UPS gives your PS4 enough time to save and shut down safely when power drops.
Should I buy ARK Survival Evolved or Assassin's Creed Valhalla?
Choose ARK Survival Evolved if you want open-ended survival with friends, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla if you want a guided single-player story. ARK has no set ending, supports online play with up to 70 players, and centres on taming prehistoric creatures. Valhalla follows one hero through a scripted Viking campaign without online multiplayer. At Mascom International, ARK costs KSh 3,700 and Valhalla KSh 4,000. Groups usually prefer ARK, while solo story fans lean toward Valhalla.
Is ARK Survival Evolved suitable for children?
ARK Survival Evolved carries an ESRB Teen rating, for blood, crude humour, use of alcohol and violence. That makes it a fit for most teenagers, though parents of younger children should watch it first. The rating also warns that the game experience may change during online play, because other players can chat and act freely. Kenyan parents can use the PS4's family settings to block online chat or limit how long a child plays each day.
Who should buy ARK Survival Evolved and who should skip it?
ARK Survival Evolved is a strong choice for patient players who enjoy gathering, taming and surviving, especially in a group of friends. Dinosaur fans and players who like setting their own goals get the most from it. Skip it if you want a clear story with a beginning and end, or quick sessions that finish in minutes. Story-focused gamers are better served by Assassin's Creed Valhalla or Assassin's Creed Mirage, both on our shelves.
