Condition: New
Note: price and availability are subject to change without prior notice
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm is available at Mascom International for KSh 6,000, brand new and sealed, with free fitting at our counter. It is cut for 27-inch monitors with the taller 16:10 shape, and the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm uses micro-louver film to keep the picture clear for the user straight ahead. At about 30 degrees off centre on either side, the screen turns dark. Collect it at Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD, or have it delivered and mount it yourself with the slim tabs supplied.
Built for architects, civil engineers, quantity surveyors, research staff and procurement teams across Kenya, the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm covers the taller screens chosen for drawings, contracts and long spreadsheets. Those screens show more rows at once, which also means more for an onlooker to read. Tender documents, bid prices and county project budgets are exactly what a rival or visitor should not see. With the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm in place, the person at the screen works normally while visitors to a Kilimani or Upper Hill office see a blank dark panel.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that treat every 27-inch sheet as the same, Mascom International sizes each cut to the millimetre. Our 27-inch range includes a 16:9 widescreen sheet and three 16:10 sheets, two of them only millimetres apart, so we always confirm the measurement first. At Mascom International, we're seeing more architecture and survey firms ask for 16:10 filters as taller monitors return to desks. Bring the screen to Kimathi Street for free fitting of the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm, or order pay-on-arrival delivery to your site office.
Common Questions About the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm
How much does the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm cost in Kenya?
Mascom International sells the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm brand new for KSh 6,000 at our Kimathi Street store in Nairobi. That covers the sheet, its mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth, free counter fitting and a 6-month manufacturing-defect warranty. Delivery is pay-on-arrival across Kenya. The 581 x 363mm and the 16:9 598 x 337mm 27-inch cuts are also KSh 6,000, while the 27-inch Wide cut at 573 x 358mm costs KSh 7,000, KSh 1,000 more.
Should I choose the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm or the 581 x 363mm version?
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm is 3mm wider and 1mm taller than the 581 x 363mm version; both are 16:10 cuts at KSh 6,000. Measure the lit picture area of your monitor carefully with a steel tape. If your width reads 583mm or more, take this sheet; if it reads closer to 581mm, the smaller cut sits more neatly. When your reading falls between them, send the monitor's model number on WhatsApp and Mascom International will confirm the match before you pay.
How do I know my monitor is 16:10 and needs the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm?
A 16:10 monitor gives a width-to-height result of about 1.6 when you divide the lit width by the lit height. For the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm, that sum works out to 1.60. Most 27-inch monitors sold in Kenya are 16:9, giving about 1.78, and those need the 598 x 337mm cut instead. Resolutions such as 1920 x 1200 or 2560 x 1600 also signal a 16:10 panel, and you will usually find them on the monitor's spec sticker.
Does the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm hold up in hot, dusty site offices?
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm is a passive film held by bezel tabs, so heat and power cuts do not affect how it works. Construction site containers, county works offices and Industrial Area plants often run on generators after KPLC outages, and the filter needs no power at all. Dust is the main care point: wipe the matte face with the supplied cloth before it builds up, since grit dragged across the film can leave marks. Lift it off before cleaning the monitor beneath.
Who should buy the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm, and who should look elsewhere?
Buy the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm if you work on a flat 27-inch 16:10 monitor and handle bids, drawings, staff data or financial records near other people. Look elsewhere if your monitor is 16:9, where the 598 x 337mm cut fits, or if it is curved, because the sheet is flat. It also suits nobody who needs a group to read the screen together, such as a design review around one desk. Laptop users should check our 14-inch and 15-inch Wide laptop cuts.
Will the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm change how my CAD drawings look?
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm leaves lines, layers and geometry exactly as your software draws them, but the screen appears slightly dimmer from the front. Most AutoCAD, Revit and spreadsheet users raise brightness a step and carry on. Colour-critical work, such as checking render tones or print proofs, is better done with the sheet lifted off. Because the tabs release cleanly, you can remove it for that task and put it back for routine drafting.
Can two people sit side by side and read a screen fitted with the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm?
Not comfortably: the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm gives a readable cone of about 60 degrees, so a second person sitting beside you falls outside it. That is the point of the filter. For a quick joint review, lean in together close to the centre, or lift the sheet off and refit it afterwards. The privacy works left and right, so a person standing directly behind your chair can still see the picture; position the desk with your back to a wall where possible.
What tools do I need to fit the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm?
No tools are needed to fit the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 584 x 364mm. Clean the screen with the supplied cloth, press the slim tabs onto the frame around the lit area, then seat the sheet so the tabs hold its edges, matte side out. Nothing sticks to the picture itself. If you prefer, bring the monitor to our Kimathi Street counter and Mascom technicians fit it free during store hours, Monday through Saturday.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Privacy Performance
- Micro-louver film — microscopic vertical slats let light pass straight to the user and stop it at steep side angles.
- Readable cone of about 60 degrees — you see a normal picture from the chair, with roughly 30 degrees of room either side.
- Dark past about 30 degrees off centre — visitors, clients and neighbouring staff see a black panel instead of your drawings.
- Two-way privacy — the left and right sides are both covered, which suits desks in the middle of a row.
- Matte anti-glare face — breaks up reflections from site office windows and fluorescent tubes on a large panel.
- Fully passive — no drivers, apps or power, so it works with Windows, macOS and Linux workstations alike.
Compatibility and Sizing
- Cut at 584 x 364mm — matches the lit area of a 27-inch monitor with a 16:10 panel, measured in millimetres.
- Diagonal of about 688mm — corner-to-corner arithmetic on the two sides lands at 27 inches.
- 16:10 taller shape — the proportions of 1920 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600 panels, giving more rows of text on screen.
- Width-to-height result of 1.60 — divide your measured width by height to confirm a 16:10 monitor before ordering.
- Separate from the 581 x 363mm cut — that sibling is 3mm narrower and 1mm shorter, so measure to the millimetre.
- Flat monitors only — curved 27-inch screens need a WhatsApp check of the model first.
- Not for 16:9 widescreens — a lit area near 598 x 337mm calls for the widescreen 27-inch cut instead.
Build and Mounting
- Black colour — the sheet border and tabs blend with the dark frame of most office monitors.
- Slim mounting tabs — small tabs fix to the bezel, the frame around the screen, and grip the sheet's edges.
- No adhesive on the picture area — the monitor's own coating stays clean under the film.
- Removable without residue — take it off for colour checks or cleaning and refit with the same tabs.
- One-piece sheet — a single film covers the whole 584 x 364mm area with no seam through your drawings.
- Matte finish — hides smudges better than a glossy screen and cleans up with a light wipe of the cloth.
- Unbranded factory-fresh film — no logo, so the KSh 6,000 goes on the sheet and free fitting.
