Condition: New

The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm is available at Mascom International for KSh 6,000, brand new and sealed, with counter fitting included in the price. It is a black micro-louver sheet cut to 581 x 363mm for 27-inch monitors with a 16:10 shape, a little taller than standard widescreen. The person directly in front sees a clear picture, while anyone more than about 30 degrees to the left or right sees a dark panel. The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm is in stock at our shop in the Old Mutual Building on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD.
Designed for accountants, HR officers, lawyers and doctors, the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm handles a common problem with big screens in shared rooms. A 27-inch display shows a lot of text, and in an open-plan office in Upper Hill or Westlands, visitors can read payroll figures or client files from several desks away. With the filter in place, the readable view narrows to a cone of roughly 60 degrees. You keep full use of the monitor, and people walking past or queuing at a counter see only black.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops hand over a privacy sheet in a sleeve and leave the fitting to you, Mascom International fits the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm at the Kimathi Street counter at no extra cost. Our technicians check your lit screen area against the sheet before fixing the tabs, so you leave with the right cut. Customers across Nairobi tell us that measuring first saves them a second trip to town. Bring the monitor in, or order with pay-on-arrival delivery and fit the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm yourself.
Common Questions About the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm
How much is the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm in Kenya?
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm costs KSh 6,000 brand new at Mascom International in Nairobi CBD. That price covers the filter sheet, its mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth, fitting by our technicians at the Kimathi Street counter, and a 6-month warranty. Delivery is pay-on-arrival across Kenya if you would rather fit it yourself. The 584 x 364mm and 598 x 337mm 27-inch cuts cost the same KSh 6,000, while the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter Wide costs KSh 7,000.
How is the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm different from the 584 x 364mm and 598 x 337mm cuts?
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm is a 16:10 cut, 3mm narrower and 1mm shorter than the 584 x 364mm sheet, which is also 16:10. The 598 x 337mm version is a 16:9 widescreen cut, wider but 26mm shorter, so it suits standard widescreen 27-inch monitors. The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter Wide is smaller again at 573 x 358mm. Pick the sheet whose millimetres sit closest to your measured lit area, because a few millimetres decide whether the edges sit flush.
How do I measure my screen before ordering the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm?
Measure the lit picture area of your monitor in millimetres, first across and then top to bottom, leaving out the plastic bezel. If your figures land close to 581 by 363mm, the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm is your sheet. A 27-inch screen measuring near 598 by 337mm needs the 16:9 cut instead. Use a steel tape, since cloth tapes stretch. Still unsure? Send a photo of the model sticker on the back of the monitor to Mascom International on WhatsApp and we confirm the fit first.
Does the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm help with dust and glare in Kenyan offices?
Yes, its matte anti-glare face softens reflections from windows and ceiling tubes, which helps in bright ground-floor offices in Industrial Area or along Mombasa Road. The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm also sits in front of the panel, so dust from Nairobi's dry months lands on the filter rather than the monitor coating. You wipe the sheet with the supplied cloth. It does not seal the monitor's vents against dust, and cleaner should go on the cloth, never sprayed straight onto the filter.
Who should buy the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm, and who should skip it?
Buy the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm if you run a 27-inch 16:10 monitor and handle payroll, patient records, legal files, KRA iTax returns or banking dashboards while people pass beside you. Skip it if your 27-inch screen is standard 16:9 widescreen, because the 598 x 337mm cut fits that shape. Designers who colour-match photos or show their screen to clients all day may find it limiting. Laptop users need a laptop cut, such as the 14-inch or 15-inch filters at KSh 3,500.
Will my monitor look darker with the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm fitted?
Yes, slightly, because the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm blocks some light on its way out. The tiny slats that hide the screen from the side also stop a share of the light heading forward. Most users raise monitor brightness a step or two and carry on. Text, spreadsheets and email stay sharp from the front seat. Colours can look a little muted, so photo editors usually lift the filter off while editing and put it back for routine office work.
Can I take the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm off for meetings?
Yes, the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm lifts out of its slim mounting tabs in seconds and leaves no residue on the screen. The tabs stay on the bezel, so the sheet goes back in the same position after the meeting. This suits managers who review figures alone most of the day but sometimes turn the screen toward a colleague. Store the sheet flat in its sleeve while it is off, so the matte face does not pick up scratches on a busy desk.
Does the 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm still work if I rotate my monitor to portrait?
The 27-inch Monitor Privacy Filter 581 x 363mm gives two-way privacy, left and right, when the monitor sits in normal landscape position. Turn the screen to portrait and the dark zones move to the top and bottom instead, so people beside you could read it again. Coders and editors who keep a portrait screen for long documents should keep this one in landscape. The filter works fine on a monitor arm or wall bracket, since the tabs attach to the front bezel only.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Privacy Performance
- Micro-louver privacy film — thousands of tiny vertical slats work like window blinds, sending light straight ahead to the person in front.
- Readable cone of about 60 degrees — the screen stays clear roughly 30 degrees either side of centre, then darkens quickly.
- Two-way privacy, left and right — colleagues at neighbouring desks on either side see a black panel instead of your figures.
- No vertical blocking in landscape — someone standing directly behind your chair can still see the screen, so plan seating.
- Matte anti-glare face — diffuses reflections from windows and ceiling lights, so text is easier to read through a long day.
- Slight brightness drop — the slats hold back some forward light, so raising monitor brightness a step keeps text crisp.
- Passive sheet — it needs no driver, cable, software or power, and works with any computer or signal source.
Compatibility and Screen Fit
- Sheet size 581 x 363mm — matches the lit picture area of 27-inch monitors with a 16:10 shape.
- 16:10 aspect ratio — the picture is 16 units wide for every 10 tall, a little taller than common 16:9 widescreen.
- Diagonal of about 27 inches — the 581 x 363mm sheet measures roughly 685mm from corner to corner.
- Not for 16:9 27-inch monitors — those take the 598 x 337mm sheet, which is wider and 26mm shorter.
- Close sibling at 584 x 364mm — the two 16:10 sheets differ by 3mm in width and 1mm in height, so measure carefully.
- Measure the lit area only — leave out the bezel, and confirm your monitor model on WhatsApp before ordering.
- Flat screens only — a flat sheet does not follow the bend of a curved monitor, so curved panels are a poor match.
Build and Mounting
- Slim mounting tabs along the bezel — the sheet is held at its edges, with no glue spread across the display.
- Removable without residue — lift the sheet off for a presentation and nothing sticky is left on the panel.
- Black colour — the thin edge blends with the dark bezels found on most office and home monitors.
- Unbranded, brand new sheet — sold without a maker's logo, and backed directly by Mascom International's own 6-month warranty.
- Protective front layer — dust and fingerprints land on the filter instead of the monitor's own surface coating.
- Wipe-clean face — a dry or barely damp cloth removes dust without harming the matte anti-glare finish.
- Counter fitting included — Mascom technicians attach the tabs and seat the sheet while you wait at Kimathi Street.
