The 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 3,500, brand new and sealed and ready to collect or deliver today. It is a black micro-louver sheet cut for taller 16:10 screens, measuring about 302 x 189mm, and it darkens the display for anyone sitting more than roughly 30 degrees to either side. The face is matte to cut glare, and slim tabs along the bezel hold it in place with no glue on the panel. Fitting by our technicians at Old Mutual Building, Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD is included in the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide price.
Built for accountants, lawyers, HR officers and sales teams across Kenya, the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide deals with one quiet problem: people reading your screen. A payroll file in an open office in Upper Hill, a client contract on a matatu to Westlands, or an M-Pesa statement in a hotel lobby can all be seen by the person beside you. With the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide in place, you see a clear picture straight ahead while neighbours see a dark panel. It suits newer 14-inch business laptops with 16:10 screens, the taller shape found on many recent HP, Lenovo and Dell models.
Where most Nairobi electronics shops sell privacy film by screen size alone, Mascom International matches each filter by aspect ratio and millimetres, so a 16:10 laptop gets a 16:10 filter rather than a 16:9 sheet that leaves a strip uncovered at the top. Customers across Nairobi tell us the wrong cut is the usual reason a privacy filter ends up in a drawer. Measure the lit screen area or send us your laptop model on WhatsApp, then collect the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide at the counter or order pay-on-arrival delivery to any county in Kenya.
Common Questions About the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide
How much is the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide in Kenya?
The 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide costs KSh 3,500 brand new at Mascom International on Kimathi Street, Nairobi CBD. That price covers the filter sheet, its mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth, a 6-month warranty and fitting by our technicians when you bring the laptop to the counter. Delivery is pay-on-arrival across Kenya, so you pay only when the parcel reaches you. The standard 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter for 16:9 screens costs the same KSh 3,500, so choose by screen shape, not by budget.
How do I tell if my laptop needs the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide or the standard 14-inch cut?
Measure the lit screen: about 302 x 189mm needs the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide, while about 310 x 175mm needs the standard 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter. The Wide model is the taller 16:10 cut; the standard model is the shorter, wider 16:9 cut. Both cost KSh 3,500 at Mascom International. Pick the Wide model for most newer 14-inch business laptops. Pick the standard model for older 16:9 machines such as the HP EliteBook 840 G8 and Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2.
Which laptops does the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide fit?
The 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide fits 14-inch laptops with a 16:10 screen and a lit area close to 302 x 189mm. Common matches in Kenyan offices include the HP EliteBook 840 G9 and 840 G10, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 and Gen 4, and the Dell Latitude 7440. Bezel width and webcam placement differ between models, so the tabs sit slightly differently on each. Send your exact model to Mascom International on WhatsApp and we confirm the fit before you pay anything.
How well does the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide hide my screen from people beside me?
The 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide turns your screen dark for anyone more than roughly 30 degrees off centre, on both the left and the right. That leaves a readable cone of about 60 degrees, wide enough for you and narrow enough to shut out the seat next to you. It is two-way privacy, so it guards the sides only. Someone standing directly behind your shoulder can still see the screen, so sit with your back to a wall when you open sensitive files.
Will the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide cope with dust and glare on a Nairobi commute?
Yes, the matte anti-glare face of the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide cuts reflections from bright windows and ceiling lights, which helps on a sunny matatu ride or in a glass-walled office tower. Because the sheet sits over the display, dust and fingerprints land on the filter rather than the panel. Wipe it with the supplied cleaning cloth instead of tissue, which can leave scratches. In the dry, dusty months, lift the filter off now and then and wipe both surfaces before refitting it.
Does a privacy filter make the screen darker for me?
A micro-louver privacy filter makes the screen look slightly dimmer even from straight ahead, because the tiny slats that block side views also hold back some light. Buyers throughout Kenya report that raising brightness a step or two on the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide is usually enough. That extra brightness draws a little more battery, which matters during long KPLC outages when the laptop runs on battery alone. When you do not need privacy, lift the filter off and the display returns to full brightness.
Can Mascom International fit the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide for me?
Yes, Mascom International fits the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide at our Kimathi Street counter, and the fitting is already included in the KSh 3,500 price. Bring the laptop to Old Mutual Building, First Floor Room 4, and a technician places the tabs along the bezel so the sheet sits square over the lit area. If you order delivery instead, self-fitting is simple: clean the screen, stick the tabs to the bezel, then lower the filter into them. No glue touches the panel.
Who should buy the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide, and who should skip it?
Buy the 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter Wide if you use a 16:10 14-inch laptop in shared spaces and handle payroll, patient records, legal drafts or client accounts. It suits accountants, HR officers, lawyers, doctors and bank relationship staff. Skip it if your 14-inch laptop has a 16:9 screen, because the standard 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter fits better. MacBook owners should also skip it and choose the MacBook Pro 14-inch A2442 Privacy Filter at KSh 5,000. People who mostly present their screen to groups gain little from it.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Privacy Performance
- Micro-louver privacy film — tiny vertical slats let light travel straight out to you and block it at side angles.
- Two-way privacy — the screen darkens to the left and to the right, covering seatmates and colleagues on either side.
- Blackout from roughly 30 degrees off centre — anyone seated beside you sees a dark panel instead of your documents.
- Readable cone of about 60 degrees in total — enough room to shift in your chair and still read clearly.
- Matte anti-glare face — softens reflections from windows and ceiling lights, so text stays legible beside bright glass walls.
- Slight brightness drop from the front — raise screen brightness a step or two to restore a comfortable view.
- Removable whenever you like — lift the filter off for presentations or video calls, then refit it when privacy matters again.
Compatibility and Sizing
- Taller 16:10 cut — matches the screen shape of most newer 14-inch business laptops, which stand taller than older widescreen models.
- Sheet size about 302 x 189mm — measure the lit screen area, width then height, and compare it with this figure before ordering.
- Common matches — HP EliteBook 840 G9 and 840 G10, Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 and Gen 4, and Dell Latitude 7440.
- Not for 16:9 screens — older 14-inch laptops near 310 x 175mm need the standard 14-inch Laptop Privacy Filter instead.
- Not for MacBook — Apple laptops use their own cut, so choose the dedicated MacBook Pro 14-inch A2442 Privacy Filter.
- Fit check on WhatsApp — send your exact laptop model and Mascom International confirms the match before you pay.
Build and Mounting
- Black film with a matte outer face — blends with dark laptop bezels and cuts the shine on the screen surface.
- Slim mounting tabs along the bezel — hold the sheet in place without any glue spread across the display panel.
- Residue-free removal — the filter lifts off cleanly and leaves no sticky film on the screen glass.
- Protective layer over the display — dust, fingerprints and light scuffs land on the filter instead of the panel itself.
- Thin flexible sheet — slips into a laptop sleeve or bag pocket when you take it off for the day.
- Counter fitting included — Mascom technicians on Kimathi Street position the tabs so the sheet sits square over the lit area.
